The elevator halted on the 8th floor with a light *ding!* and the shifting of the sliding doors spreading open. He stepped out into the hallway and turned to Krikor, "Here we are! Please choose a room that is most comfortable to you. The standard units involve all of your everyday living necessities by default, naturally. Any personalized material must be brought in by you in order to customize your room the way you see fit."

"Everyday living necessities, eh?" Krikor asked, glad that he wouldn't need to buy too much as far as furnishings were concerned. "That's good to hear. Are all of the units for one person only, or will I have a roommate?"

"If you so choose," Tear continued rather promptly, "You may decide whether or not you have a roommate. If you intend to have one, please select a room that supports that." He would point to one of the rooms nearby, which read 'Co-Op' on a plaque under it to show that it was fit for a roommate. "As you would probably infer, a room with 'Co-Op' on the plaque indicates that it has space for another person, and is essentially combined from two dorm rooms as one, though with a slightly smaller living space due to shared facilities such as kitchen and bathroom." He hoped that Krikor picked a room that would encompass his personal preference, even if it meant changing rooms in the future or planning for a roommate at the moment. "If you'd care to have a roommate immediately, it would be a good idea to talk to some of the Students and make friends. Otherwise, you can be moved later if you find someone you want to associate with. Or, naturally, remain by yourself."

"It doesn't matter to me, in all honesty," Krikor replied a bit sheepishly.  "Hmmm...is this one free?" he asked, walking to a single room nearby.  It didn't look inhabited, but he still wanted to make sure.  He didn't want to kick anyone else out, after all.

"Hmmm. Let's find out," he said as he walked over and slid a key card into the handle, similarly to how hotel rooms function. When he did, it would immediately inform him of whether or not the room was occupied... Fortunately, it was free. "Aha! Yes, it says here that there is an opening..." However, when Tear looked up, it was revealed to be a Co-Op room, and someone else was already rooming there. "Hm. Well, it seems like there is someone else here, since this is a Co-Op room. Well, you said you didn't mind, so..." Tear shrugged his shoulders, opening the door, "I suppose you should introduce yourself to your new roommate~?" Tear would clear his throat again and call out into the room, "Hello? This is your Undertaker, Tear. A new student is going to be rooming with you and I'd like you to come meet him!" Hopefully the student was present...

The student, who hadn't been at Pandemia for more than a few weeks, would creep out of his room with a sort of uncertain smile on his face, as if he wanted to be friendly but was shy and a bit puzzled from what was happening so suddenly.

"Um, yes! Hello there!"
Dormitory; Krikor's Room Img-toya-
*lightly clears throat*
"My name is Yumiya!"

He seemed relatively nervous, but overall pretty down to earth and easy-going. He seemed to be the passive type, especially with how he was handling the situation. He would stand where he was for a moment awkwardly, then think that perhaps he should greet this strange man in the armor. "Ah... Nice to meet you!" he extended a hand for a shake, "What's your name?"

Krikor extended a hand as well, taking Yumiya's and shaking it politely. "My name's Krikor. Krikor Hovsepian. It's good to meet you, my friend," he said with a smile. He seemed cheery and good-natured enough, Krikor thought, so hopefully the two of them would get along.

"S-Same here!" he said with a nervous joy, taking his hand back. He chuckled a bit, then looked to Tear, "... Um. I'll do my best to get along with the new student. Maybe we can help each other out..." He returned his attention to Krikor and smiled, "... I'm pretty new here, too! I haven't gotten the hang of everything yet, but I'm learning!"

Tear smiled and remained silent, happy to see that things were going well. Fortunately for them, this kid seemed to be really laid back, so he wouldn't upset anyone or cause any problems... And from the looks of it, Krikor wasn't the type, either. "Good, Good! Maybe the two of you, once you get better acquainted, can learn and grow together?" Seems as though Krikor had the same thought, which made Tear happy. He then looked to Yumiya, just in case he hadn't gotten the message "I expect you to help Krikor out with the main things you've already gotten the hang of. Showing him around. And whatever the both of you don't know, you can figure it out together! Take care of him, Yumiya!" Tear then turned back to Krikor, "Ah, well, I'll let you get settled in, then." Tear would step aside and let them sort out everything... But before he left, he would inquire finally, "Will you be needing anything else today, Krikor, or are you alright on your own now?

"There is just one more thing I'd like to ask, Mr. Lacrimoso," Krikor said, turning to Tear. "How do I enroll in classes? I'm sure I'll need to get myself on the class rosters somehow, and I'd like to do it as soon as possible. That, and I'd like to see all the classes that are offered here."

Yumiya, being clearly much younger than Krikor felt a little awkward at first, but he didn't seem like a bad guy or anything, so perhaps the difference wouldn't mean anything. "Ah, sorry, sorry..." he stepped back and would let his new roommate in, kinda standing off to the side and not saying anything. He didn't want to intrude nor interrupt on anything important that Krikor and Tear may have been talking about, so he kept quiet.

PostSubject: Re: Dormitory; Krikor's Room   Dormitory; Krikor's Room EmptyMon Apr 06, 2015 1:59 am

"Oh yes, your classes!" Tear had completely overlooked that due to his own excitement and being taken off in so many directions at once. If things weren't handled immediately by him, he would have to wait until he was done with a string of other things in order to loop back around to scoop up whatever he missed, which he never liked doing... Such is why he insisted on getting everything done in an order where everything would get done in a synchronous harmony rather than having to keep going back. "Well, I will be enrolling you in the classes I believe that are necessary for you as Requirements, however many that may be. They will help to strengthen your weaknesses and to fortify your strengths. Anything that you are not required to take may be enrolled in at your leisure. All you have to do is ask. Feel free to sit in on any classes or sessions in order to see if you'd like to take the class." This was a mature, yet relaxed and comfortable environment where he believed and hoped that the students wouldn't cause a disturbance in others' classes if allowed to simply view even without participation. Naturally, they wouldn't get the full experience, but they'd get a bit of exposure to decide whether they wanted to or not.

"Seems simple enough," Krikor replied, walking into the doorway of his new dormitory.  "How will I know which classes I'm in and where and when they are?" he asked after turning around to face Tear again, since knowing where and when his classes were was key to his stay at Pandemia, plus he was interested in which classes Tear had picked for him.

"Oh, don't you worry, Krikor," Tear said with a hum, "I will let you know when I have your classes assigned. There are maps all over the school in order to help people navigate." Krikor was already added into the Veritas system, which was universally useful in keeping track of one's life at all times. "The Veritas itself will alert you, rest assured. You can check online by accessing your..."

That's when it hit him that he hadn't informed Krikor about how to check his status online. "Oh, silly me! I almost forgot! Because you've been registered into the Veritas, it automatically keeps track of your life for you so that you always know and have easy, ready access to it at all times. Think of it like living in a game that's real!" With the advancement of the internet, they were able to update things digitally automatically as well as manually. "You can check your status and progress at any given time by accessing an electronic device of any given type. See, because we specialize in Wavelength here, you automatically become connected and integrated into the school's system by being within the barrier for an extended period of time." Naturally, he was referring to the giant barrier dome that had been installed over the school to prevent its destruction, which also served as a method of connecting and keeping track of all events that went on within and without.

"Basically, your thoughts and feelings get translated into digital information that can be monitored and received through electronic devices and through organic beings that are capable of receiving wavelengths, which this school is meant to help you learn more about. It seems a little intrusive, but rest assured, all remains private and up to the disclosure of the individual party. Though all records are documented by the Veritas and kept in digital storage within the school's files, not just anyone can access them. So it's like having your own personal profile."

Pandemia would also help him to learn to update and utilize his own Profile to the fullest extent, which will be useful for excursions beyond the school's borders. The Veritas kept record of all who were within it, whether they attended the school or not. The school just helped them learn how to use this system to the best and fullest of its abilities instead of leaving one lost out in the wild to learn about it from first hand experience.

"Is that everything? Do you need further explanation?"

"Wonderful news~!" Tear said again rather happily, "Well, I certainly do hope you enjoy your stay at Pandemia. Feel free to contact me anytime if you need any help! But don't be afraid to talk to or ask the students! They know some things, tooo~!" With that, he would begin to close the door in order to let Krikor and Yumiya get situated. "Taa~." With the closing of the door, Tear would immediately return to his quarters in Yomi, where he would continue to dutifully take care of his business.

Krikor turned around and looked inside of the dorm room. "Nice place," he thought, looking towards Yumiya, looking to start up a conversation with him.

"So, Yumiya," Krikor began, walking more into the dorm proper, "What's your story?" he asked, sitting in an armchair in a corner of the dorm.

(OOC note: I was a dumbass and forgot to ask what the layout of the dorm was, so I just inserted an armchair in a corner of the room. Hope that's okay.)

(Nah, don't worry about it. Creative freedom is really flexible. As long as it isn't anything really far-fetched, inserting things like that, which are normal and common, is totally okay unless stated otherwise in the story. It's like being in a field and saying that there's a tree, even if no one officially said there was one. We share the story, ya know?)

"Um!" he said a little squeamishly, kinda surprised from being addressed so suddenly. He'd gone into a daze whilst Tear and Krikor spoke, and the words snapped him out of it. "... Ah, yeah, sorry... I was kinda out of it." He scratched the back of his head and figured it would probably be more polite for him to come from out of the background... So he took a seat on the couch in the center of the room nearby the armchair.

"Well, there's nothing really too interesting about me... I live out in the Villa and decided that I wanted to come to the academy in order to learn how to unlock the hidden potential of my soul..." he looked down, a little disheartened, "... But in these last few weeks I haven't gotten any closer to getting it done. I just don't quite understand it all yet." He crossed his arms and closed his eyes, looking rather concerned and distraught. "I don't want to be left behind or kicked out or anything... I don't feel like those things would happen if I'm just a late bloomer, but I'm worried about my own progress so far..." He seemed to be the studious type, despite her nervousness. Reserved and good-natured, simply wanting to mind his business and do the best he could.

"What about you? You seem..." he looked at Krikor up and down, finding his armor to be a tad bit... eccentric, "... Like you're not from around here. Do you live in the city, too?" It didn't look like he did, but you never know. He might have just had all of that armor on now and looked completely different without it.

Krikor laughed at Yumiya's comment, realizing how ridiculous he must look wearing blood red full-plate with a greatsword strapped to his back. "What gave it away?" he asked with another laugh, "My armor, my sword, or my name?"

"But yeah, I'm not from around here," he continued. "I'm from another world, completely separate from this one, so forgive me if I don't understand terms and customs from around here. And hey, don't sell yourself short -- I think you're plenty interesting as it stands!"

Yumiya smiled slightly, feeling a little more comfortable with Krikor since he seemed so genuine. "Really? I'm glad you think so." He looked down a bit again, kind of crestfallen, "... It doesn't seem like anyone else really finds me too interesting... I haven't made a single friend here since I've been here. I've basically just kept to myself and tried to get the hang of what these concepts mean..." He chuckled, looking up to Krikor with a slight grin, "So don't think you're the only one lost around here!"

Yumiya was actually rather surprised to hear that Krikor was from another world entirely. He'd only heard of people that came from other worlds, but didn't actually know that it was real. In fact, he barely knew of the other continents that existed in the Veritas alone, nor of any of the things that went on with them. "... But you say you come from another world? That's much more interesting than normal old Yumiya!" He suddenly became really excited, as if some sort of fantasy of his that he'd only dreamed of was actually happening now. "I bet you've got some special powers or something, don't you? What about your world? I want to know more about you!"

Krikor laughed at Yumiya's enthusiasm.  "One question at a time!" he remarked, still laughing.  "I do have some powers, yes.  I practice a form of magic called Sanguimancy.  It's essentially blood magic.  I'm sure that's small potatoes compared to what some people here can do, though!" he said.  He knew it was true, especially after what Tear had shown him of his power.

"As for my homeworld," he began, "it was nothing special, way less advanced than this world.  I mean, you people here have things we never would have dreamed of," he said, trying to change the subject away from his home and what had happened to it.  "Not many of the worlds I've been to have been like this."

Dormitory; Krikor's Room Empty
PostSubject: Re: Dormitory; Krikor's Room   Dormitory; Krikor's Room EmptyWed Apr 08, 2015 11:26 pm

Listening intently to Krikor, Yumiya remained enthralled even with the short explanation Krikor had given him. "Wow," he said, "Blood magic? That seems like it could really be powerful if you got enough training here. Everyone has blood, so that gives you an advantage!" Honestly, Yumiya wanted to see what he could do with it, but he felt like inside of the dorm wasn't exactly the best time nor place... "Maybe when I figure out what my ability is, you can show me what it does?" He really wanted to get to know what his own powers were as swiftly as possible so that he could do something cool like Sanguimancy.

Yumiya was a little sad to hear what Krikor thought of his own world, though. It must have been in some sort of bad condition or something... Which Yumiya could understand. At a time, this place was like that, too. He wasn't entirely sure what happened, but on the grand scale, things started randomly getting better. "Well, it isn't all that great..." Though Yumiya hadn't ever been outside the Mezzo Terra, he couldn't really speak for the Upper nor Lower continents all too much. "It seems pretty normal to me. I mean, save for the people with powers and stuff... And, well..." he looked off to the side, remembering an event that was absolutely mortifying, "... The occasional monsters." He remembered that night vividly, when the bats came and blotted out the sky. He was lucky to have survived, quite honestly. Most of the population was taken out at that time, thinning out the numbers of the city. He shuddered a bit.

"... Other worlds?" he noted, keen to the fact that Krikor said he visited 'many,' "Wow! You're really something! Here I am, never even gone outside of this city and you're visiting all types of different worlds..." He chuckled nervously again before saying, "I wish that I could be strong enough to visit other worlds, too! It may be a long shot right now, but if I really work towards it and discover my power, then maybe I can venture out just like you!" That seemed to be something on his 'to-do' list. But the first thing was to awaken his power within himself, and this school was going to help him. Krikor seemed to motivate him to do so even more now, just so he could be strong enough to see another world...

"You know, there was a saying from my ancestral homeland that my grandmother always told me, Yumiya," Krikor began. "She said, 'Lamb in the spring, snow in the winter.' Everything has its own time, my friend, and I'm sure that as long as you take it at your own pace, you'll come into your own with your own skills and powers."

"So, you really think that my world-hopping is that fascinating, eh?"
Krikor asked, thinking back on some of the worlds he'd visited. "I could tell you some stories of some of them, if you'd like." He just hoped he wouldn't bore Yumiya with his stories. With that kind of talk, Krikor felt a lot older than 32, instead feeling like a very old man regaling people with stories of his childhood.

"Ah..." Yumiya said with a humbled sigh, "... Wise words, indeed." He was much more mature for his age than he seemed, probably due to being so reserved, thus having more time to think about things like this naturally. It made him want to drink some tea, for some reason. "Yes! I really do think it's interesting!" he said again, "Please, tell me as much as you'd like!" He stood up, feeling somehow refreshed from their conversation. "Are you hungry? I'm in the mood for tea and I was thinking that perhaps while you were talking, I could go make some and maybe rustle us up something to eat, too..."
