"H-Hold on there, pal, we ain't even--!!" Before they could get a few words in, Dr. Money was already gone.
The Valparaiso Denizens looked distressed.
"Look," the elder man said, "We're gettin' paid for this job. Whatever it is, all we gotta do is take out a few... Antagonists." The Valparaiso Denizens knew very well what the meaning of the world 'Antagonist' was, and as such, knew who to look for. "We're the new task force of the Void Bo$$es, and judgin' from what that Dr. Money is like, they ain't no pushovers. Performing a coup against them would certainly leave us all dead... Or penniless again."
The Valparaiso Denizens groaned at the notion.
"So, tell ya what," the man said, "We'll split up and go to each location in groups, deal with the problems, then reconvene here to spend out moolah." He shrugged his shoulders. "Shouldn't be more than a coupla street punks... Or maybe even a rogue crime syndicate, but it ain't nothin' we ain't capable of handlin' with our power of darkness." That's what the man wanted to believe, anyway.
And so, without having any time to spend on pampering themselves, the Valparaiso Denizens were off in their groups toward the locations of the Veritas where there was some questionable activity. How they knew where they were was a mystery, but we'll chalk it up to 'they can read energy signatures because of their powers'. Yeah, that's it. That's the ticket.
