Madhouse :: Deranged Dolls

There is a special section of the 'Dollhouse' where the 'Deranged Dolls,' which are a type of defective 'Doll,' all gather and form their own society away from the normal 'Dolls' that live and play in the 'Dollhouse.'

Instead of playing with the other Dolls carefully and in a friendly manner, the 'Deranged Dolls' are prone to break other Dolls by playing rough and in twisted manners, finding enjoyment in doing destructive and sometimes even malevolent things to themselves and others, considering those sorts of things 'fun' in the stead of dainty things, like most Dolls. They appear like normal, finely dressed Dolls at first, but when they are played with, they nearly immediately become deranged, suggesting rather demented forms of entertainment and enjoyment for themselves and others.

Many of the other Dolls shun them for not wanting to destroy their bodies haphazardly.

Deranged Dolls are developed to be able to enjoy the pains of destroying each other as well as fixing each other up in order to play rough some more later on, and all of them enjoy it. This is why they live separately in their own section of the Dollhouse. Very few other beings interact with them, but those that due are generally very durable or are playing with them without ever actually coming in contact with them.

The Deranged Dolls had a tendency to 'play' with many dangerous and destructive weapons which were hazardous to the other Dolls. They play with fire, blades and many other things that could easily destroy other Dolls.

They also enjoy doing surgery on themselves, and often end up altering their original designs to the point of severe deformity, or even mangling each other beyond repair, which some do not understand is considered 'death' to a doll until after it is gone.

When a Deranged Doll learns that its recklessness destroys its kind, and the one that is destroyed isn't coming back, some of them become aware of their destruction and how permanent it is and begin to play more safely, never destroying each other to that point again. The younger Deranged Dolls must learn this either by watching the ignorant Deranged Dolls destroy each other or learning through destroying one of their kind, themselves. Otherwise, they become the sacrifice for the education of the others.

Deranged Dolls are considered the 'Savages' or 'Neanderthals' of other Dolls, and are considered also a 'Prototype' to what the other Dolls have become.

Deranged Dolls thrive in environs that are conducive to their recklessly destructive behavior, such as areas with reinforced walls, completely isolated chambers and little to no knowledge or access to a realm beyond their own society. Should something wander in that is not like them, they will immediately seek to 'play' with it as they do each other and risk either destroying it or being destroyed by it.

Whatever can destroy a Deranged Doll can cause the others to become subservient to prevent destruction, or to cause the unlearned ones to rear up and attack, thinking that the destruction is another form of 'playing.'

The Deranged Dolls that learn not to destroy end up becoming consciously aware of their surroundings and a lot more controlled, and assert dominance over the ignorant ones to teach them, something like children. They acquire more powerful weapons and use them a lot more sparingly without being reckless, but can easily fall into their destructive tendencies again by having too much fun destroying things.

Deranged Dolls are more or less completely unstable, even when learned, and are a threat to themselves and others by default.

Sometimes, the Deranged Dolls will find spare parts from other Dolls or Mechanica and affix them to themselves, which powers them up. They perform the surgeries on each other when they become more sophisticated and receive limbs and appendages with built in weaponry or technology, which advances the Deranged Doll's own consciousness. These parts also cause them to become more highly destructive, increasing their capacity for recklessness by fathoms due to the new potential their new built in weaponry provides to them, making the altered Deranged Dolls the most dangerous of all. Their bodies are compatible with any form of outside weaponry, as long as it is attached. Sometimes, they will replace entire limbs altogether instead of building weapons in.

A 'Basic Tier' 'Doll' was dropped into the 'Madhouse', where the 'Deranged Dolls' inhabited. When the 'Doll' of the 'Basic Tier' was released, the Deranged Dolls reared up immediately at the new toy to play with, completely ignoring their Observer watching over them.

Instead, the very moment the new toy was dropped in for them, they would immediately begin to attack it with their variable weapons and abilities. The variability was exceedingly diverse, and therefore could not be determined completely immediately. One seemed to be harboring a hatchet, of sorts.

When the Deranged Doll with the hatchet noticed that the 'Doll' that had been dropped in was terrified, the rest of them would back off and go to sit back down in spots all about the 'Madhouse,' and near what looked to be larger collections of dolls lying down on the ground before them, leaving the 'Doll' alone.

The lone 'Doll,' now terrified of all the other 'Dolls' it had been exposed to, never having been exposed to Dolls that acted this way before, would tremble in fear, nearly becoming petrified and unable to move. Sooner or later, the 'Doll' would have evolved into a 'Deranged Doll,' like all the others that had 'Deranged' it.

From there, the elder 'Deranged Dolls' would start to move instead of the children that still didn't understand how not to play so rough. When they stepped forward, they would walk slowly, very dauntingly, and completely warily, without suddenly startling the recently traumatized 'Deranged Doll.' It was fresh, as a babe, and did not understand what it means to be a 'Deranged Doll' after once being a 'Basic Doll.'

The Deranged Dolls did not answer the strange woman that moved with them. Instead, they would all begin to return to their hiding places at a relatively moderate speed.

Just then, the Deranged Doll thought that everything was its enemy. The Deranged Dolls that were already aware of this were already gone, back to their respective places among the Deranged Dolls, falling right back into where they were originally set up. They would, all simultaneously, remain completely focused on the Deranged Doll that was looking for a target now. Its eyes darted around viciously, until it found the only thing in motion and not resemble itself, which was Tina, herself. Immediately, it would begin to tremble violently, but do nothing, out of its complete and utter terror for now what it believed was its enemy coming to destroy it.

"Why should I obey you?!" It quickly snapped back at her, who apparently did not realize that the 'Doll' had already evolved into a 'Deranged Doll' simply by the expression on its face changing. "I just saw one of them with a weapon. Any Doll with a weapon is a 'Deranged Doll,' and I was warned about you." Though, because this woman did not look like all of the others, the Deranged Doll would remain as she was and not become anymore escalated nor intimidated. Something about the words she was saying made sense, even if it did not understand why.

Each of the Elder Deranged Dolls would see this and narrow their eyes, displeased that they could not get to it first, and now were trapped between each other in trying not to get caught nor seen again after it was distracted.

One 'Elder Deranged Doll' would step forth from behind the fresh 'Deranged Doll,' preparing to snatch it for itself when it wasn't looking.

"Foolish Girl!" the Elder Deranged Doll said, immediately becoming terrified at being noticed in public without being successful or 'Looking Good,' as 'Dolls' were supposed to be doing. Since this entire 'Staged' operation, which is what the 'Dolls' operating system was, to be on display for others, the Elder was more afraid of the other 'Deranged Dolls' that had seen than anything, but immediately became curious about how the youthful 'Deranged Doll' was going to react, and thus did not move nor say anything more after that. Instead, it waited patiently to play off of the ignorance of the younger 'Deranged Doll.'

The younger 'Deranged Doll,' that had remembered from its original 'Doll' code, since it was still fresh, would be reminded of the fact that all 'Dolls' had a 'Puppetmaster' over them, and would relate this person's figure as the one who both made and placed them here, and would immediately submit to her. "They were scaring me! I was terrified that they were going to hurt me." It seemed like the now converted 'Deranged Doll' would have returned to being a 'Doll' again and begin to apply the correct powers in place, realizing that this person had some sort of greater influence or control over the others, that made her naturally different from the society and not in a manner that was manipulated by any of the others. Therefore, all the proper ranks were processed in the newly restored Doll's head. "Please help me before they attack me!" The restored Doll would run up to the Puppetmaster and cling to her leg as best it could, cowering from the others in the room.

"Definitely," it said, sticking close to the Puppetmaster of this house. The Doll would partake of the creme.

Meanwhile, the Deranged Dolls and Elder Deranged Dolls that saw that there was special treatment for something they had once looked down on, they were now scared for themselves that the Mad Hatter would be upset with them for something they had been doing in their society, each trying to manipulate each other, and figuring that only the highest one would be in trouble and would wait for the one who deemed themselves the best to step forth. They saw that none of them had stepped forth, and it seemed like none of the others would dare, since all had come to the same conclusion that they were each all looking for who was the best. Whichever one thought it was the best would, after stepping outside the order, be mangled once they stepped back in, since the Elders knew how to be destructive internally instead of simply externally, like the younger Deranged Dolls.

The Elder Deranged Dolls were mortified. They could each hear that this woman had figured out their whole society and was speaking as if she had authority over them and their society, itself. That meant something very important to them, and so, out of their fear of being picked out, none of them moved, but everyone listened. Even those that were watching the Doll enjoy itself and were displeased that they were not yet enjoying themselves wouldn't move, because they feared being controlled by this Mad Hatter that seemed to be protecting the young one.

Yet, the more youthful Deranged Dolls that hadn't learned the ways of the society and were rather demented due to the nature of the society making them this way, would rear up out of jealousy for not being played with. "PLAY WITH ME!" the one with the hatchet cried, suddenly rising up from the congregation of toys. "DON'T PLAY WITH THAT ONE! I AM MORE FUN!" The Deranged Doll, with a crazed smile on its face, would run out into the center of the open area, with its weapon raised threateningly.

The Elder Deranged Doll, which had finished being Converted, would no longer step back into the society of Deranged Dolls and instead step forward toward the younger one, which had gotten out of line. Knowing what to do, the Elder Doll would immediately intervene. "Now, now," it said, grasping the Deranged Doll whilst it had been distracted by trying to get attention for itself, "It's dangerous to run with sharp objects." The Elder Doll, which now had the wisdom of an Elder but was restored of its derangement, would quickly become the target for the Deranged Doll and the other Elder Deranged Dolls that were looking on from the sidelines. Many of them were infuriated because their natural order of allowing the children to destroy everything before they were collectively manipulated was not being done, and now that everyone had seen, the younger Deranged Dolls may not be able to be manipulated because they'd been exposed to something new and different.

Their society was falling apart one move at a time.

"Tina..." Tabitha called out to her sister after that, congregating her captured party like a blood clot outside the Cryptic Sanctuary.

Tina heard something calling her in the back of her head, as well as in the backs of the heads of the Deranged Dolls that had been mass produced. She quickly raised herself up and picked up her marked Doll and Elder Doll and, after she was done playing with them, would prepare to take them out of the Madhouse. "Time's Up," she said rather acutely, literally punctually, to her own delight, for she was itching to get to the next project. "Whomever is coming, I'm about to open the door, but whomever is not will be staying here, or taken systematically to a new location if you are underdeveloped and are not quite ready to exit yet." It was important to warn them to stay behind if they were not prepared, because there were worse things outside than being stuck in captivity inside of a sheltered society. In fact, they could be in a worse place, Tina knew, that had no society at all. "If your fears take you, it's fine. You just aren't ready to come to the Playhouse." Tina did not fret nor worry, and, in fact, would take the Omnipedia and head toward the only known exit, which was the only door in the room.

When she opened the door, there was a society that was much more friendly and hospitable, which shone light on the dark room filled with Deranged Dolls. In fact, the brightness of the light would also attract everyone's attention and allow them to have a glimpse of the wonderful society moving systematically and coherently outside beyond them, seeming in the same fashion, but with everyone aware of each other consciously and at ease because the outside could be trusted not to manipulate another. These were the 'Dolls' of the 'Dollhouse,' of which were processed by the 'Puppetmaster,' which was currently set by Tina to 'Mechanica' at the time once she left, so that it could be harvested correctly. "Be sure to lock up behind me!" Tina said with a smile to someone unknown to the Deranged Dolls, before dropping each of the others into a nice place into their actual society, and not the isolated one for the defective models to be worked on. The door was left wide open and the light still poured in, but Tina was nowhere to be seen after that.

The Dolls that were beyond the door to the Madhouse would all be minding their business, keeping to their schedules and their organization. Some, who had noticed that the Madhouse was open, would warn the others to be cautious, and the numbers in the streets started to thin out warily, as if they were already conscious of what it meant for the door to be open. This should have been a signal to the ones inside that though they were isolated from the outside world, the outside world was actually rather coherent and cognizant of the ones that were locked inside. Eventually, talk of a 'Traphouse' could be heard, as well as a 'Funhouse,' but only just briefly on either end.

The Deranged Dolls that wanted to escape and were bright enough to figure out that it meant taking a shot straight out of the door and right into the light on the other side would take it after they were sure that the others were terrified and wouldn't move. Those with minds to move would take it one by one, with the first one to take the shot for freedom being the one that triggered the rest of them that were going, which would pick up in size the more of them saw others taking the steps before them.

*Thus, the first one would be the most notable.

However, the ones that were afraid of leaving were also afraid of losing everyone, so they attempted to cling as much as they could whenever they could to keep people they knew they had under their control from leaving, specifically so that they could control them. Others would even get up to grab them and bring them back into their spots, where they weren't supposed to move from. Whomever could be snatched by the Deranged Dolls, especially the Elder Deranged Dolls would do so.

Once This Began To Happen, The Door Would Close More Swiftly, And Whomever Would Be Left Behind Would Be Left Behind, To Prevent The Ones That Were Still Defective From Getting Inside The Dollhouse Beyond The Madhouse.
