With the wild creatures that littered the skies, those that flew low would be suddenly snatched from the air by a large and foreboding hand, which could palm the fullness of the creature with ease, and crush the beast between the fingers to subdue it, with only the scorpion tail lashing about wildly until its vertebrae was crushed wholly by the powerful grip of the 'Hungry Hand.'
When the creature was found lifeless, just as its last breath were about to escape; its very soul leaving its flesh, the head of a pitch black pumpkin, hovering disembodied from the giant arm that had snatched the beast up, yet also still clearly attached to the entity, would fade into visibility only briefly with its mouth wide open and a furnace of flames broiling within. Stuffing the creature into the flames of the mouth, the fires crackled as they roasted the being within the black Pumpkinhead, with the mouth closing completely. The sound of the crackling flames was something like the crunching of bones and the grinding of teeth.
The apparition disappeared afterward.
