| Chu Chu is the sound that a mouse makes in Japanese. Thus, the race of mice and rats are known as 'Chu.' There are many kinds of Chu, and a vast majority of them function well in groups. Most are weak individually, however they are extremely intelligent when working in groups, as are most beings that are weak individually. They are extremely fast and agile, and are very stealthful. They work very well as thieves, and typically conduct very complex heists in order to get what they want. They live out of sight most times, typically in dirty places such as sewers and junkyards or graveyards, and live life as scavengers. They can eat anything, and seem to be immune to any adverse effects of ingestion, such as Poison or Disease. This is an adaptation that has come from the consumption of anything they can get their hands on, but this also gives them the misconception of always being 'dirty' and 'filthy' beings. Their bites and scratches tend to be filled with poison and disease, too, which is their greatest weapon against bigger foes. Name: Chu Species: Chu Type: Beastkin (Rodent) Elemental Affiliation: None Combat Specialty: Physical (Stealth) Sociability: Sneaky, Timid, Impatient, Ill-natured Threat Level: Low (Alone), Medium-High (Group) Intelligence: Medium-High Habitats: Valparaiso (Common), Old Witch City (Common), Abandoned Tower (Common), Dusk City (Uncommon), Dusk Sewery (Common), Hidden Cavern (Uncommon) Weakness: Physical Attacks Immunities: Disease, Poison, Magic Item Dropped: Cheese, Chu Tail Additional Info: Attacks inflict Disease and Poison. All movement is 'Stealth' effect. Weapons Teeth Knife/Dagger Tail Natural/Signature Abilities Stone: Claws, bites or whips with tail that can turn what they touch into stone, Petrifying them. Disease Chu Info Rodent-like Beastkin that are known to reside in dark and dank areas, typically in caves, sewers and dilapidated buildings. They are excellent excavators and are able to burrow through the ground at high speeds. They are known for their extremely impatient and greedy nature, always wishing to steal more stuff for themselves. The curious Chu is an odd creature. With rodent-like characteristics and a large familial line, they are a very tight-knit group. Any species of Chu will always help another one, and because they are weak individually, they are known to gang up on a specific creature larger than themselves and take it down. They are very similar to Goblins in their way of life, and because of this, whenever they can, they associate with them, since they 'speak their language,' one may say. Being extremely nimble and rather jittery, they like to run around all over the place with feet light enough not to even make prints in the snow. For this, they are revered as pickpockets and jewel thieves, using the sewers of the cities they reside in as well as their keen excavation skills to their advantage. They seem to have a natural knack for using their environment to their advantage, which is assisted by their overall agility and nimbleness to make them quite difficult to deal with, or even to catch. To a normal eye, they are very difficult to differentiate, but they are easily able to tell each other apart. Because of this, they may have one of their clean members take the fall for one who is riding dirty, making for a clever escape for them all, with the clean member being released back into the sewers once they are found out to not have stolen anything. They are known to steal everything, even food, due to the scarcity of it in their homes and their inability to fight larger creatures individually very well. They will eat anything, however. Anything. In the past, these creatures were used for magical target practice, so they have not only built up an immunity, but also have it stored within their bodies. They are in no way good at casting magic, however it transfers itself into the poisons and diseases that they spread, making them much harder to rid from the body due to the magical means. This makes their bites more dangerous than the typical poisonous creature, and one who wishes to rid themselves of its effects would often seek counsel from a Alchemist rather than take conventional potions. Rodent Rat Large mice are restless, pack monster girls about the size of a human child. They have several unusual propensities, even among the monster girls: Large mice are one of the few species that don't default to monogynous relationships, preferring to share a single male mate amongst the pack. Like dark elves and devil bugs, they consider it entirely normal for daughters to have sex with their fathers. And the mice share with werewolves the ability to monsterize human women by biting them. Some people find the mice' frantic, hasty attitudes quite annoying, most notably the Queen of Hearts, who went so far as to create an entire new species of calm, sleepy mice so they would stop bothering her. A beastman-type monster that has a small body build and the characteristics of a rat. Since they prefer dark and moist places, they usually live indoors in dungeons, etc. Their size is no larger than the average human child, and while they are not strong by themselves, they are very nimble. Also, when they take action, they are always in a pack consisting of dozens of individuals, so by attacking all at once they can even bring down prey that is far larger than themselves. Of course, when confronting a human man as well, the pack will carry out the assault together while scrambling to be the first to mate. In general, they are monsters who can never remain still and are often found running around in circles for no reason at all. When it comes to mating, it is much the same, and when they get turned on, their hastiness causes them to hurriedly rush after a man's body. These hasty girls will rub their faces against it and beg a man to hurry up and blow his load to cover them in their favorite thing: delicious human semen. They occasionally appear in human settlements to steal food and abduct human men, who are necessary breeding partners. They have a peculiar trait; there is only one man per pack. A man carried away by them will become the center of the pack, and will be continuously violated by overwhelming numbers of them one after another. In the event that the number of individuals in a pack increases too much, the young will leave the group and form a new pack. This pack will then head for a human settlement, seeking a man to serve as the center of the new group. Rats are often used as magical catalysts, and since they possess the characteristics of rats, they have a physical makeup that makes it extremely easy for them to store magic. However, they have no means of utilizing this magic, despite the fact that it can easily build up, and when they store up too much of it, it exerts a powerful influence over them. Their bodies become so hot that they lose control of themselves and go into a lustful frenzy, so they sometimes bite humans and infuse them with the excessive magic. In the case of a human male victim, or a female that has matured to a certain degree, the magic will diffuse inside their bodies after they are bitten. However, in a little girl's case, the magic will remain within her body. Directly after being bitten, there are no significant symptoms, but after a while the girl will become restless like a large mouse, and eventually she will come down with a fever and collapse. At the same time, her body will begin to change, and by the time the fever subsides, she will have changed into a large mouse. Even though the little girl's fever will go down after changing into a large mouse, her body will remain hot and flushing, and this heat will drive her to assault a man. By bearing the man's offspring, she will create a new pack. Large mice born in the manner described above, and lone individuals who have strayed from their pack, will experience a sudden and dramatic increase in sexual desire. Everything they think and do will primarily be for one purpose: assaulting a man and bearing his offspring to increase the size of their pack. | |

| Magmouse
Vernace
A mouse monster native to the Mist Continent. They have a coat of bright red flames and can tolerate intense heat without burning. They are overly confident and pugnacious, having a disposition almost as intense as fire. Even though most of them have a small body, they excel at martial arts and when they spot a man who also has knowledge of martial arts, they'll assertively challenge him to battle.
Their flames ignite the hearts of those exposed to them, arousing their fighting spirit. Since those who've been challenged to a fight by them have their fighting spirit seared by these flames, they become unable to avoid fighting her. Unlike other monsters, they don't show much interest in having sex with men, and even act as though it disgusts them. Even in the case of winning a battle with a man, they'll mostly be satisfied with just that, and leave.
However, in the case that the man wins, his fighting spirit that had been ignited by their flames will then change into lust that burns with just as much intensity, and it will be directed towards them. If that happens, a man will end up giving in to his burning urges and rape them.
Water is their weak point, and when they have a lot of it poured on them, the flames of their coat temporarily weaken, and the color changes, growing whiter. Along with that, their fighting spirit and violent temperament are also lost, and their timid nature that had been hidden by the flames becomes exposed. The liquid that contains lots of male essence, that is to say, semen, is even more highly effective. Even if they verbally refuse, their body will accept the essence, and each time essence is poured inside, their flames will weaken for a time, and they will reveal the submissive and adorable side of themselves.
They're covered in their own flames which rouse their own spirit. The reason they don't show any interest in sex in spite of this is that they release all of their arousal through fighting. The "monster" within is always smoldering but if they have sex with a man and their body learns the taste of the man who is their husband, their flames flare up to such a degree that they can't be relieved just through fighting, and then they'll feel passionate desire towards their husband.
After obtaining a husband, their flames increase in intensity, and can no longer be weakened by water, or the essence of another man. The only thing that can extinguish them is their husband's essence. Even if they're normally not submissive, if their husband pours his essence inside, their coat, the inside of their belly, and even the inside of their head will be stained pure white. They'll likely only reveal their entrancing smile and meekly sweet voice to their husband.
During sex, part of their flames will transfer into the body of their partner like a spreading fire, and he'll be able to temporarily drape himself in this 'Hinezumi coat'. It is said that the coat of flames grants the wearer high resistance to fire and heat, and heats up and activates the body, allowing the constant utilization of the maximum extent of his power. Additionally, it also enables the feat of covering one's fists in flame, and in the mist continent it's not uncommon to see a couple of fighters, a hinezumi and her husband, covered in flames together.
However, being draped in flame also has the effect of causing constant arousal, and that arousal will also be directed towards the original owner of the coat, the hinezumi. Of course, if lacking an opponent to fight, he'll lash out at his mate, the hinezumi, with that arousal.

| Chipper Fist Tail Wrecking Ball (Tail) Inflatable cheeks for floating in air and water. Short claws for digging, scratching, and climbing. Only come out when threatened or in use. Muscular tail or tails can be used as hand, wrecking ball, or leverage. Eats wood and any fruit or vegetable. Teeth can easily chew tree bark. Multiple tails insinuate age and strength. More tails means more power. Ratatoskr - Spoiler:
A squirrel who runs up and down the world tree Yggdrasil to carry messages between the eagle perched atop Yggdrasil, and the serpent Níðhöggr, who dwells beneath one of the three roots of the tree.
Noted for their small bodies and large, fluffy tails. Among Monster societies, Ratatoskr excel at handling information; both in acquiring and distributing it. While they aren't particularly strong monsters, their status as skilled information brokers makes them dangerous to anti-Monster states nonetheless, especially because of their mischievous personalities. Despite this, Ratatoskr are in reality very timid creatures, and even when they have a Human man at their mercy, they often become too anxious to initiate sex and try to flee; most are unsuccessful, however, as by that point the lustful man will have his way with them regardless.
A race of beastmen having a large, soft tail and a tiny body. The race excels at handling "information", and they utilize their petite, agile body to run around all over and gather info with their superior eyesight and hearing which is then shared among members of the same race via a unique network. Thus, they are said to possess tremendous amounts of information. They are the monsters' information brokers, and there are also many news organizations run by them in monster-friendly states and demon realm states. They themselves are said to seldom attack human men, but they do instigate by providing men's information to other monsters, or bringing men to the locations of monsters.
They aren't monsters with especially mighty physical strength or magical power, but the information they bring influences the thinking of groups and individuals, and they even have enough power to be able to incite people to a certain degree. As information brokers, they basically deal in accurate information, however, having a malicious character, they enjoy impelling humans and drawing them into the world of pleasure, leading men and women to have indecent relations. For that purpose, they are also said to instill people with information that includes exaggeration and embellishment.
By manipulating information, they inspire goodwill towards monsters even in anti-monster adherents of the Order, and they can even make a married couple out of a man and woman with a stormy relationship just by conveying messages between them; many monsters ask them to mediate between themselves and men. Furthermore, there are many stories of nations that were worried about whether or not to accept monsters that ended up going the monster-friendly route due to “information about monsters" reported by them, and there's even an anecdote that says a human city changed into a demon realm just from them disseminating information about "monsterization" to human women.
When obtaining a man of their own, they also make excellent use of information and create situations which their target absolutely cannot escape from. Inducing a man himself to come after them is their forte. However, they are a timid race by nature, and when push comes to shove and it's time to have sex with a man, they just might become bewildered, and they also often lose their nerve and flee when there's the perfect opportunity to violate a man. When they're strongly desired after overly fanning the flames of a man's passion and driving him wild, they can't understand what happened. Although they might have thought that they had the man in the palm of their hand until then, they may end up like a small female animal, unable to resist the man turned beast and being ravished as he pleases.
Regardless of how they possess the power of information which can manipulate people, once pleasure has been drilled into their body by a penis, they are unable to ever defy it, and eventually, their body and heart will be dominated. The seemingly cheeky attitude that they had until then will disappear somewhere, and they'll end up changing into a pet that fawns on the man who became their husband.
Their distinctive huge tail is used to balance their body, and other than that, it's also used as a cushion for resting and a bed for having sex. As one might expect given that it's used in ways like that, the soft, fluffy tail feels pleasant to touch and embrace, and it's said their husband becomes enthralled with their tail along with their body. If their husband tightly embraces their tail, not only will their husband feel good, but so too will they, in a different sense. Since it feels more pleasant to embrace the girl herself when she’s all ready for it, there are also many husbands who enjoy the tail to their heart's content before making love with them.
Squirrel King A squirrel type Chu that has acquired a great number of tails, which signifies its status, power, and age, similarly to how Kitsune function.

| Kodama nezumi 小玉鼠 こだまねずみ
Translation: small ball mouse Habitat: mountains in northeastern Japan Diet: omnivorous
Appearance: Kodama nezumi are tiny creatures which resemble spherical dormice. They inhabit mountain forests in the Tōhoku region.
Behavior: Kodama nezumi are rarely encountered due to their remote habitat. However, they do have one particularly notable behavior. When the mountain gods grow angry, kodama nezumi begin to swell. Internal pressure builds up. They inflate like a balloon. Then suddenly, they rupture down the spine and burst. The sound of this explosion is said to be louder than a gunshot. Everything nearby is splattered with their flesh, blood, and innards.
Origin: Kodama nezumi are attested to by the Matagi, an ethnic group of hunters who live in the mountains of northeastern Japan. They believe that kodama nezumi are messenger animals sent by mountain gods. A kodama nezumi explosion is a warning that the gods are angry. When Matagi hunters hear this sound, they immediately stop their hunt and return home.
Anyone foolish enough to continue hunting after hearing a kodama nezumi explosion will have a poor catch. Worse, they invite the wrath of the mountain gods. They might get injured or even meet with disaster, such as being buried in an avalanche.
Some Matagi believe that kodama nezumi are the reincarnated souls of hunters and foresters who defied the wrath of the mountain gods.
Legends: One cold winter night, some hunters were resting in a mountain hut when to their surprise a woman came to the door. She begged them for shelter for the night. However, the mountains were sacred. Women were forbidden from entering them. And so the hunters had no choice but to turned her away.
The woman continued wandering until she came upon another hut. Once again begged the hunters inside to give her shelter for the night. These hunters also knew the law, but they took pity on the woman. It was too dangerous to roam the mountains at night, so they allowed her stay.
When morning came, the woman had vanished. The hunters who allowed her to stay had a successful hunt. Nobody was injured, and they all returned to their village laden with rich game. In fact, the woman was actually a mountain goddess, and she had blessed their hunt.
The group of hunters who turned her away, however, met a different fate. Instead of a blessing, they received her wrath. She transformed every one of them into kodama nezumi, and they were never seen again.

| Kyūso 旧鼠 きゅうそ
Translation: former rat, old rat Alternate names: yōso (strange rat) Habitat: barns, houses, fields Diet: cats, and pretty much anything else it wants
Appearance: When a mouse or a rat reaches one thousand years of age, it turns into a gigantic rodent yōkai called a kyūso. They look like ordinary rats, only they are as large as cats or even medium-sized dogs.
Behavior: In addition to growing larger and stronger than regular rats and mice, kyūso begin to exhibit peculiar behaviors. Aware of their own size and strength, they no longer scurry away at the first sign of danger. Instead of being chased by cats, they sometimes hunt them down and eat them, reversing their historical relationship.
Despite their ferocity, kyūso are not entirely monstrous. There are a number of folktales and even modern urban legends about kyūso playing with cats, or even raising litters of abandoned kittens as if they were their own children.
Interactions: Even more disturbing than their strange relationship with cats, kyūso are said to occasionally sneak into homes at night and have sexual relations with young women.
Origin: Kyūso is famously depicted in the Ehon hyakumonogatari and a number of other Edo Period sources, however stories about giant yōkai rats have been a part of Japanese and Chinese folklore since ancient times. Its name is likely a pun. There is an old saying: “kyūso neko wo kamu” (“a cornered rat will bite a cat”). Kyūso (“cornered rat”) and kyūso (“old rat”) are homophones, and it’s possible that this yōkai was invented based on this wordplay.
Legends: A tale from 15th century Dewa Province is recorded in Ehon hyakumonogatari. It tells of a kyūso which had taken up residence in a family’s barn. The family also kept a female cat. She and the kyūso came to be very good friends. One day, the cat became pregnant. She bore a litter of five kittens, but tragically died shortly after giving birth. In her place, the kyūso visited the kittens every night and took care of them. When they had all grown into adult cats, the kyūso vanished from the barn, never to return.
In Nagoya in the 1750’s, a family was perplexed as to why their lamps were extinguishing themselves every night. Finally they discovered the cause: every night a gigantic rat would appear and lick up all of the oil from each of the house’s lanterns. In order to stop the rat, the family bought a cat. They waited until nightfall and released the cat near where they saw the kyūso. Sure enough, it appeared. The cat leaped upon the kyūso, but the rat was stronger. It tore open the cat’s throat and escaped.
The family was shocked. They searched all around town until they found a big cat who was very skilled at catching rats. They purchased the cat, and once again released it into the house. That night, when the kyūso appeared, the two creatures locked eyes and began to snarl at one another. Finally, the kyūso couldn’t hold back any more. It leaped at the cat, and tore its throat open just as it had done so before.
A folktale from Kagawa Prefecture describes one instance where a kyūso finally loses to a cat. The cat was a stray taken in by a priest named Ingen from Ōtaki Temple. A huge rat weighing over 26 kilograms was living in the temple’s main building, and had been terrorizing the priests for years. The cat was too small to kill the kyūso by itself. However, after three years of living there, the cat’s tail split in two and it became a cunning nekomata. Out of thanks for Ingen’s kind treatment, the nekomata enlisted an army of local cats to drive the kyūso out of the temple. After a long and bloody battle, the cats were finally able to kill the kyūso.

| Tesso Tesso鉄鼠 てっそ
Translation: iron rat
Legends: Long ago, during the reign of Emperor Shirakawa (1073-1087 CE), there lived a monk named Raigō. Raigō was the abbot of Mii-dera, a monastery in Shiga prefecture at the foot of Mount Hiei, and well known for his piety.
The Emperor, having no heir, was concerned about his line of succession. One day, he approached Raigō and asked him to pray to the gods and Buddha in his place for an heir. Raigō prayed long and hard, and finally in 1074 a royal son, Prince Taruhito, was born. The grateful Emperor promised to give the abbot anything he wished in return for his prayers. Raigō asked that a splendid new ordination building be constructed at Mii-dera so he could train new priests. The Emperor gladly agreed, however Mii-dera had a powerful rival temple — Enryaku-ji, on top of Mt. Hiei — which wielded great political power as well as having a powerful army of warrior monks at its disposal. Enryaku-ji could not abide such a gift being granted to a rival temple, and so it exerted its great pressure on the Emperor. Bowing to Enryaku-ji, the Emperor reneged on his promise to Raigō.
Raigō began a hunger strike in protest of the Emperor’s broken promise, but the Emperor would not, or could not, go against Enryaku-ji’s will. On the 100th day of his hunger strike, Raigō passed away, his heart full of rage towards the unfaithful Emperor and the rival monastery of Enryaku-ji. So great was the hatred in Raigō’s heart when he died that he transformed into an onryō, a ghost driven by pure vengeance. Shortly after Raigō’s death, a ghostly vision of the abbot was seen hovering near young Prince Taruhito’s bed. A few days later the young prince died, leaving the Emperor heir-less once again. But Raigo’s vengeance did not end there.
Raigō’s twisted spirit transformed into a gigantic rat. Its body was as hard as stone and its teeth and claws as strong as iron. The monstrous spirit, Tesso as it came to be called, summoned a massive army of rats which poured through Kyoto, up Mt. Hiei, and arrived at Enryaku-ji. There, the rat wreaked Raigō’s vengeance upon the monks. The army of rats poured through the monastery complex, chewing through the walls and doors, tearing up the roofs and floors, and attacking the monks. They devoured Enryaku-ji’s precious sutras, scrolls, and books, eating and despoiling everything they found — they even ate the precious statues of the Buddha.
Nothing could stop Tesso and the army of rats until finally a shrine was built at Mii-dera to appease Raigō’s spirit, and Raigō’s shrine still stands at Mii-dera today. An interesting footnote to the story: while Buddhist buildings are typically built facing the east, Raigo’s shrine is built facing the north. It points to the top of Mt. Hiei, directy at Enryaku-ji, the target of his rage.

These Chu are known to be those which live in poverty, either by choice or by collective effort, and they forge tight bonds with each other which makes them all consider each other family. However, because they are also very easily swayed into antagonism with each other, they can become prone to turn on those who are closer to them that they consider family should something threaten their lifestyle, including actual blood family, should their lives be endangered. These Chu are said to be closely related to the Street Rats, who live completely out in the Urban Wilderness, and not in more well-structured communities, like the Hood Rats, who live in at least the Ghettos of a neighborhood.

Seafaring Chus that, at their height, are pirates, yet at their lowest, are stowaway sailors that reside in seafaring vehicles. They are semiaquatic and thrive in even the filthiest of waters, however they are incapable of breathing underwater, even though they are excellent swimmers and can hold their breath for a very long time. Their eyes have also adapted to very murky water, and their bodies can survive great water pressure, which allows them to reach great depths.

The Groundhogs are nearly exclusively subterranean Chus that evolve from the Woodchucks. They are very large and run the colonies underground, usually being provided for by the younger Woodchucks before they become the greater Groundhogs. Where the Woodchucks are the workers, the Groundhogs are the overseers, but they protect the underground fiercely with their great size and power. They very rarely leave the underground, if ever, which is the purpose of the Woodchucks. They further expand the underground civilizations, which the more naive Woodchucks do not understand how to do, which is why they forage above ground as the Groundhogs expand and supervise underground.

| Molerat
Subterranean fossorial Chus that have lifestyles similar to moles. They continue to burrow deeper and deeper all of their lives and function largely through sensing seismic waves. They are highly sensitive to light, so they are able to track even the slightest bits of it underground, however overexposure is damaging to their senses, as they also have photoreceptors on their sensory nerves similar to worms.

| Packrat
Incredible foraging Chus that are overindulgent hoarders. Though they find a use for everything that they see, they end up storing up so much that the hoard of stuff becomes more wasteful than resourceful, unless there are other living beings that live off of the Packrats. However, because they are extremely materialistic, possessive, and territorial, especially about any and everything that they believe they can find a use for, it is very difficult to actually work with a Packrat. Most people just let them gather up as much stuff as possible in their lifetimes and then wait for them to die, or even kill them themselves once they've accumulated enough, since otherwise, everything would simply go to waste or be stored away without ever being used.

| Gopher
Fossorial Chus that have a habit of extensive burrowing in complex underground networks across large territories. They are notable for being very destructive to crops, as they tend to make a life off of consuming them underground before they can be harvested, and then moving on. Therefore, they tend to be menaces to farmers or anyone with agricultural fields, but their usefulness comes from their ability to discover the agriculture as opposed to destroying the fields they are in and taking the crops for themselves. Thus, they are used often to discover native vegetation or the farms of others.

| Black Rat
Common rats that typically rely on their dark fur and the shade of night to their advantage. Like most rats, they are commonly nocturnal and prefer dark places, but unlike a normal rat, who may indeed have gray or black fur, the Black Rat has a distinct affinity for the Dark Element. Whether or not this comes from their nearly completely strict livelihood revolving around the absence of light is unknown, but that seems to be their only difference from the normal rats. More powerful ones are capable of even utilizing dark powers, but it is a mystery as to why or how they even acquired such capabilities, considering that they are basically just the same as any other normal Rat.

| Rat Bastard
Typically seen as the lowest of the low, even in the rat community. Their entire persona strictly has to do with being lowly and immoral, even to each other. They are seen as having no true allegiance to anyone or anything, not even each other, and are quite often cast out of their own families either for attempting to take advantage of them or for the selfish desires of the parents. They live their lives shamefully, yet feeling no remorse for any type of shameful action that they have. In the rat community, they are known to be 'Tainted' in their very souls, which is saying something when it comes from filthy vermin. They cannot even be hired for their services because there is no guarantee -- and likely more of a guarantee that they will betray -- that they will not double-cross the employer relatively immediately. They cannot even stand to be moral for a short period of time, and none can really determine why they are so opposed to any type of standard of morality except that they are literally 'Tainted' in their souls. No one loves them, no one likes them, no one wants to be around them, and none of them care a lick about any of it. They are the worst of the worst.
