| Noblesse Typically seen as a Classification or Class System all on its own made and used by humans or anything which is intelligent enough to reciprocate the social structure, it also refers to the people who are within the hierarchy. Due to it not being a species in its original conception, but a style created by society, its manifestations outside of humanity or as a class are considered the actual embodiments of said ideals, philosophies, spirits, and structures they regard. They are like Pieces, bearing a specific Purpose, but also are Positions and Titles or Ranks, and cover all spectra of social hierarchies. Ao nyōbō - Spoiler:
青女房 あおにょうぼう
Translation: blue lady Alternate names: ao onna (“blue woman”) Habitat: abandoned villas, mansions, and ruins Diet: spoiled and rotten leftover food; otherwise humans
Appearance: In the empty, abandoned mansions of bygone eras, there is sometimes more than spider webs and cockroaches lurking in the shadows. Often, large and dangerous yōkai take up residence in these domiciles. One of these is the ao nyōbō, an ogreish spirit of poverty and misfortune. She takes the appearance of an ancient court noblewoman. Her body is draped in the elaborate, many layered kimonos of ancient eras. Once fabulous, her gowns are now tattered and moth-ridden. She wears the white face of ancient courtiers, with high painted eyebrows and blackened teeth. Aged and wrinkled from years of waiting in musty old ruins, her beauty has long left her.
Behavior: Ao nyōbō inhabit the empty, abandoned homes of ruined families and fallen nobles. They wait in the house, constantly applying their makeup, fixing their hair, and adjusting their image. They act as if they are in anticipation for the arrival of some guest—perhaps a lover who has lost interest, or a husband who has abandoned his wife. In any case, should a trespasser visit a home inhabited by an ao nyōbō, she devours them whole. And then goes back to waiting vainly for someone who will never show.
Origin: Nyōbō were the court ladies of old Japan. The paragons of youth, beauty, education, and refinement, nyōbō served in the palaces of high ranking families, a position they held until they themselves were married to a worthy suitor. After marriage, they idled their days in their own private residences, patiently waiting for their husbands to come home each night, or for secret lovers to show up during the day. But not all nyōbō were so successful.
The ao in the name ao nyōbō means the color blue. This does not refer to skin color, but implies immaturity or inexperience (just as green implies the same in English). There were some low-ranking women of the old imperial court who—no matter how hard they worked—couldn’t seem to attract a husband or elevate themselves. These “blue” nyōbō were destined to grow into bitter old maids, desperate to increase their social status but never able to escape from their subordinate positions. When they died, these unsuccessful courtiers turned into yōkai.

| Otohime
Princess of the undersea palace, where they rule over its underwater kingdoms. As befitting a dragon, the Otohime possesses godly powers, which they can use to control the seas. While they love excitement and parties, Otohime are nonetheless well-behaved and dignified monsters, like their Ryu cousins, and are likewise worshipped as deities by some humans.
They are treated as mermaids, but they're actually a kind of powerful dragon that possesses the power to manipulate sea currents and cause tsunamis. Depending on the area, they are worshiped as gods of the ocean. They are selfish and overbearing, but also have tolerant and easy-going personalities.
Since they present themselves towards anyone in a familiar and playful manner, they are adored by their monster underlings. Having pleasure-seeking personalities, they like to enjoy themselves every day above all else. Other than that, they also enjoy entertaining others. “Ryugujo” have become places where those who live there can enjoy themselves without getting bored and have also been opened to the outside as amusement cities. Sometimes, they send messengers to the surface to invite humans.
In “ryugujo”, guests are always welcome and drinking parties unfold day and night. Many monsters entertain guests, dancing beautifully, then bringing the fascinated men into their bedrooms. The otohime, who are at the center of these banquets, are outstanding dancers themselves. The sight of them dancing is so beautiful that it momentarily dazzles those who watch, making them forget the passing of time. Through dancing, the ostentatious exhibition of their sublime, powerful draconic form, as well as their womanly form, which is so graceful and beautiful that they might well be mistaken for celestial nymphs, compels observers to recognize them as beings which ought to be revered.
However, despite this sense of mystique given off by their appearance, as a matter of fact, they merely dance to entertain themselves as well as those who watch. Also, if there is a noteworthy man among those observing their dance, they'll bring him into their bedroom, as if to say their position as princess is irrelevant.
The men they desire as partners are companions who have the greatest reactions to what they do and won't bore them, such as men who thoroughly enjoy it when they decide to entertain them by taking them around ryugujo, which they are very proud of, and men who overreact to having their body teased. On the other hand, no matter how lacking and weak a man's responses may be, as he spends time with the otohime, which have a powerful charm as female creatures, eventually every little thing they do will drive him wild with lust. Sex with them is like a service to entertain the man, and he'll have a maximum reaction by releasing mana during their lovemaking, thus changing into an ideal husband to them.
Most men who visit ryugujo will end up choosing to live with monsters as their partners, however, there are also those who are intent on returning to the surface. Such men are given souvenirs known as “tamate- bako". When a man opens the box, imbued with a spell by the otohime, magical smoke spills out and envelops him, showing him an illusion in which he can relive the paradise-like days at ryugujo. Furthermore, besides just re-experiencing the same things, he is also shown all the other ways to enjoy himself at ryugujo that he didn't get to experience during his visit, and if there is a monster who was really into him, it is said that he'll experience a simulation of the pleasure of sex with that monster that he still had yet to taste.
Because of this, the disparity between daily life and the paradise-like days at ryugujo will make him feel old, and he'll then long to visit ryugujo once again. Shortly thereafter, someone from ryugujo will once again appear to welcome him.

| Seto taishō 瀬戸大将 せとたいしょう
Translation: General Seto, the crockery general
Appearance: Seto taishō is a tiny little soldier pieced together out of chipped teacups, cracked dishes, and other miscellaneous utensils that have fallen out of household use. Its face is a sake bottle and its armor is made of porcelain-ware. Seto taishō runs about the kitchen on tiny spoons, wielding knives or chopsticks as swords or spears.
Behavior: Seto taishō is highly aggressive. It loves to chase the cooking staff around the kitchen, causing chaos with every attack. The tiny crockery general occasionally crashes into walls or cabinets, shattering to hundreds of pieces. But it then slowly puts itself back together, and resumes its miniature kitchen war.
Origin: The word seto refers to the Seto Inland Sea, an area famous for earthenware. Just as we say “china” in English to refer to a specific kind of crockery, the Japanese use “seto mono” as a colloquialism for this tableware.
