It's Strategic To Do That Sometimes For Your Career. It Isn't Always A Bad Thing To Be Known For One Role, As It Can Definitely Make And Set Your Career. It Can Easily Destroy It Or Stunt It, But Not Always.
That's What A Good Manager Or Agent Is For, Should You Have Those. Also, Studying Directors And Your Role, Understanding Your Role And The Character, The Script, And The Fanbase. But Most Important Is Knowing Yourself.
