- When Antagonist appeared, Nightshade Khrona knew that it was getting out of hand around here. Though Antagonist looked rather generic, his attire clearly boosted his power and gave him special abilities, and without it, Antagonist was more than likely powerless. With the Players pretty much completely erased from existence on a whim, Khrona had to both bring them back and keep the dimension from being torn apart. "... You're Annoying..." Nightshade Khrona muttered, narrowing his eyes again, which returned to their burning crimson. "Hyper Reception."
The fourth level of the Hyper Perception signature to Khrona, the 'Hyper Reception', allowed Khrona to perceive all energies and intake their understanding with just sight alone, giving him mastery over all elements, forms, and states that energy could take on. The tearing dimension wave that Antagonist released would be exposed to a bursting colorful aura that held the properties of every element combined into one constantly fluctuating energy wave. Though the dimension wave could tear through energy at will, -- as, it could destroy the very makeup of dimensions, it seemed -- it would not be able to rend a dimensional barrier specifically and specially synchronized with its wavelengths. This was because the tearing dimension wave had to either negate or sever the bonds in the dimension's makeup to divide it from itself before eradicating the components. Without that, the dimension wave would be dull like a butterknife and unable to cut or destroy. That said, as the wave crossed into the threshold of the colorful aura, it would be compressed by a strange orb that both contained and neutralized it by matching the wavelengths and stabilizing the forces. Likewise, the expansive aura also mended the dimensional tear to absolute perfection, sealing the void back up.
The Nightshade then turned his attention to the Rat Spirit, which he was concerned was in danger and would be more of a burden than a help in this situation. "Go Your Way, Rat Spirit," Khrona bellowed. "Take Refuge On The Veritas Planet As I Deal With This Threat." Before he engaged Antagonist directly, he had to bring the Players back to life. Now, the Players may have been erased from existence, but existence wasn't the only plane of being; nothingness was also a plane and a state of being, though normally not ably or readily possible to get to or control. This was not the case for Khrona, who, even in this form, had the power to control 'Nothingness', 'Emptiness', 'Void', and other concepts of 'Zero', but not to the same degree as when in his ascendant forms.
"... Trying To Kill Those Innocent Players Will Do You No Good, Antagonist. I Have A Great Many Ways To Bring People Back To Life, Especially In My Own Dimension, No Matter What Happens To Someone. Even From Absolute Nothingness, Life Can Sprout." After Khrona spoke, a portal as dark as the void opened up beside him, the four Players all floating aimlessly in a void of nonexistence. It was one of the locations of the Veritas' 'Zero World', being manipulated by Khrona's power of 'Nihilikinesis'. "If I Was You, I Would Have Split Up Their Particles And Sent Them To Different Dimensions, But Even Then, That Would Fail You, As I Can Attract All Of Their Particles Back To Them From Anywhere As Long As I Have One, And Reform Them From The Tiniest Speck." Nightshade reached into the plane of nonexistence with no repercussion, taking secure hold of the Players. "All You Did Was Make My Job Easier By Leaving Them Together." Khrona pulled them through the portal and let them hover in space beside him, but strictly warned them, "Stay Back And Do Not Involve Yourselves. He Will Most Likely Destroy You Again And I Do Not Wish To Keep Bringing You Back To Life. So Go Sit On That Moon Over There."
Bidding them off, Nightshade Khrona could finally focus on Antagonist again, but hadn't really taken his focus off of him in the first place. "... Being Able To Destroy A Dimension Or Universe Does Not Make You Powerful, Regardless Of What All Of These Superpowered Games And Shows Want To Portray To You. This Is Only My Fourth Form Out Of Thirteen, Where My Mask I Have On My Face Restricts Me To Only Being Able To Use Energy. Yet, With Mastery Of This Simple Power, I Can Take On One Who Seems To Be Able To Destroy Dimensions. Technically, If You Can Destroy A Dimension, Energy Should Be Ineffective On You And Your Techniques... But That's Where Skill And Adeptness Come Into Play. I Understand And Control Energy As Soon As I See It, So If You Believe That Anything Will Be Able To Have Any Effect On Me Even In Only My Fourth Form, You Are Sorely Mistaken. Most People Cannot Even Make It To My Third Form." - Quote :
- Without really understanding what happened, the Players heeded Nightshade Khrona and made off to a nearby moon -- well out of the way, but still within viewing distance. It was only after they thought about what Khrona said that they realized that they'd been wiped from existence previously, and he brought them back. As intimidating as it was to be able to effortlessly bring people back from not just the dead, but actual nonexistence, it was even more terrifying to think of what he could do to himself. Was he immortal? Invincible? All of the above? More?
Whatever he was truly, he was definitely way out of the Players' leagues, no matter what sort of power they'd acquired, including the one granted by him. If he was going around granting people power and still managed to be undefeatable, then there was no telling what he could do. The Players saw this as a learning experience, and they quietly watched and listened.
Blessed with 'Salvation', the 'Players' were 'Salvage'd by the 'Superboss' -- Khrona Tensei -- and were placed in this 'Tensei Moon' as a 'Safehouse'. They took 'Refuge' here, and were 'Grateful' that Khrona 'Rescue'd them from total 'Destruction' from a random 'Antagonist' that was stronger than them and didn't care about them at all, like he did. So, they decided to be 'Players' in the Veritas and 'Superheroes', like the people with 'Superpowers' in the Veritas already were, whether or not they were actually being 'Superheroes' at all with their 'Superpowers' or just... Having 'Superpowers' and being 'Superpowers'. Potentially 'Supervillains'. Either way, the 'Seventh Moon' -- the 'Lawless Land' -- was their 'Destination', and there is where they would 'Repay' the 'Superboss' his 'Kindness' by their 'Gratitude'. | |
