| The Pitch Black Energy known as the Nightshade, Living Shadow of Pumpkinhead, eased its way from the West Gate of Mt. Mortis to the the East; Pallor Mortis, where it was the most stale. The entire atmosphere was pale, stale, bland, and blank. The pale, tasteless, colorless atmosphere was said to drive one mad, especially with lack of oxygen here. It is very difficult to breathe or to tell where you are going, and is easy to get lost in this colorless maze.
Fortunately, these things which affected the sinful beings as punishment had little to no effect on Pumpkinhead, who transcended such things, and was not made to be forced to endure the punishments of the Mountain Of The Dead. The Sinners and other sinful creatures normally had a majority of their powers stripped or suppressed, if not all of them, based on the nature of their sins or ungodliness. With no encumbrance, Pumpkinhead's Nightshade could quite easily pass through the otherwise completely stagnant area.
The desert of blankness was actually still rather revealing of the Nightshade as it moved along the ground, since everything here was white and colorless, save for the sky, which was still black, like the Void Sun that omitted the void light. In order to better blend in, the Nightshade would have to take to the air, where anything below would not be able to make any distinction between its presence and the sky above. After doing this, Nightshade hovered over the blank land in search of the next Zodiac.

| For what seemed like miles and miles, there was nothing in the Pallor Mortis. Everything was the same, no matter how far you went. There was no one and nothing, and not even the scenery changed. All remained stagnant, even the thick air, which tried to restrict the Nightshade as it traveled, regardless of if it did or did not.
While it was clever for the Nightshade to try to seek the camouflage tactic, such things didn't matter to one that had only methods of perception and sensory. A strange, burning eye with a fiery iris and pitch black sclera parted the empty ground at the motion of the Nightshade, following underneath it like a shadow. Because literally nothing moved and nothing happened here, when there was any type of movement at all, it was sensed... And the creature that sensed it seemed to have a direct lock on the moving target.
Throughout the stagnant air, heat started to build, but there was no actual transfer of energy going on, which made it seem like such an event was truly impossible. Yet, it was because each particle was independently acting and releasing heat without moving, something like their own generators. All the while, the moving, burning eye that was melded to the ground did not stop following directly underneath the Nightshade as it moved.

| It wasn't very hard to sense the rise in heat and shift in stagnant air, and it was especially clear something was going on when the blank land below suddenly grew an eye that followed underneath the Nightshade above. Obviously, this place was a trap. Beyond it being completely ceased of energy flow and lifeless and barren altogether, there was something that composed it which was also so. Thus, it must have been using the land as a cover for itself to wait motionlessly for prey, something like a venus flytrap. Now that Nightshade was within its sensory range, it was awake, and it was about to do something, as clearly as the rise in heat made that understood.
The Nightshade quickly made use of the void around it via the Pitch Black Energy that it possessed, which was akin to the void element, and caused it to both blend into the void and also disappear without a trace, as if never there, or having completely been erased.

| The large eye directly underneath the Nightshade halted suddenly when it disappeared without a trace, which made it thereby clear that the eye was indeed able to see it and also noticed that it was no longer there, told mostly by how its iris was moving around, as if searching.
Eventually, though, it rested back on the initial spot where it lost Nightshade, and within the pupilless iris of the giant eye, several curved slits appeared, seeming to somewhat spiral within the iris. They opened up to reveal smaller eyes, granting the larger one extra levels of perception, and with those multiple layers of perception, it could better figure out what occurred to the Nightshade. Even if it was only able to be perceived from an extradimensional level, these extra eyes heightened the perception of the giant eye to such a level, allowing the larger being to see. Though being able to see didn't automatically mean being able to interact, as the Nightshade had basically made itself untouchable to the being on the other side of nothingness.
It remained ever perceptive and kept a visual on the Nightshade, even if it should so move.

| Pumpkinhead immediately knew that when those eyes opened up, that meant danger. The creature was able to see on several different layers of perception, and if it was proficient enough to see through the Void, then it would be able to spot the Nightshade. No telling what else it could do; it was still a Zodiac, after all. Such an ancient celestial being would have great power inherently.
Without making any sudden movements, Pumpkinhead drew his Pitch Black Sword from out of his own Living Shadow, the Nightshade, as the creature was still assessing him and trying to perceive him. It hadn't done so yet, so as long as Pumpkinhead did not make much movement or generate any energy, then perhaps this being would not be able to see him. The blade would slowly seep upward from the Nightshade and beside the Pumpkin Head, moving silently, and creating no energy as it transitioned.

| It was clever of the Nightshade to remain still, but the rising heat in the area gave the creature a heightened sensory capacity that could tell where the heat was not moving at, and that area of absence was exactly where Nightshade should have been. Even if this beast could not see him, it could see where he wasn't based on the heat waves it was increasing. So the only area where the heat wasn't rising had to be where Nightshade was.
More long slits parted within the barren white ground below, relatively near the large eye. These slits did not open up and reveal eyes, as the first one did, but mouths, each bearing numerous sharp fangs. They omitted a noise that sounded something like a lion's roar combined with the moaning bellow of a halting train screeching on a metal track.
Out of nowhere, a long, dark, protruding spire jut from the ground and shot straight up toward the Nightshade. It looked as if it was comprised of a similar composition as the Nightshade, being void-like in essence. This meant that it was likely able to damage the Nightshade, despite its void energy.

| By utilizing the 'Evidence Of Absence' technique, the creature was able to locate Pumpkinhead based on the absent information rather than the present information using the given information, which isolated Pumpkinhead's position. It was a rather intuitive response, but presented a threat nonetheless. It was clear that the extra eyes within its large eye gave it heightened levels of perception, and it had power over the heat. The void-like spire shooting toward Nightshade was quickly met with a swift slash of the Pitch Black Blade that he was already in the process of drawing, which would either knock away or cleave completely through the oncoming spike.
With that opening, Pumpkinhead hurtled down toward the creature blended with the environment, as if he was going to strike like a meteor and damage the land, thus potentially harming the creature, or at least forcing it to come out of hiding.

| In an effort to halt or slow Pumpkinhead's meteoric descent, the gigantic mouth that opened its maw would release a powerful screeching roar of several overlapping cacophonous pitches, the force of which was enough to be able to halt a meteor's descent, honestly. Should it have had such an effect, more void-like spires were quick to jut from the ground, though now in a formation that was in the likeness of very long claws on a hand or paw. They sought to pierce or pluck Pumpkinhead, halting him in midair and also likely retaining him in the grasp of the claws. It seemed like the Pitch Black Blade was only able to deter the claw and not cut through it, and it was likely because the material was too similar.
The eyes swirled about the surface of the ground, and pale white flares flickered up, as if the ground was about to be lit aflame. The rising heat undulated in the air, distorting the image of the swirling eyes, and even the large eyes with eyes inside would swirl its eyes within its iris.

| ='Pumpkinhead'= -Pumpkin Head- The meteor Pumpkin Head crashing down was protected by the Pitch Black Blade, which made several voidspeed slashes that appeared to deter the claws of such similar material, knocking them out of the way of the descending Pumpkin Head. It could see that the creature was indeed burned into the land, and was one with it, and causing it to be barren. Or, perhaps it was just barren to begin with and this creature could blend into the atmosphere. Whatever the case was, it was revealing itself now, and it was much larger than the others, for some reason. Still, this did not stop the Pumpkin Head from aiming straight for the eye, which was obviously giving it greater powers of perception, allowing it to see through the void. The best bet was to attempt to use the Nightshade to cover or distract the eye, or even damage it so that the Pumpkin Head had a clear shot. So the Nightshade would loose itself upon the eye of the beast in order to keep it open and from stopping the Pumpkin Head from crashing into and hopefully destroying it. | |

| Though valiant the effort, the creature's eye that bore several eyes inside of it was not its weakness, but its greatest strength. The inward eyes were capable of altering perception and perspective, even beyond itself, meaning that as the Pumpkin Head crashed down toward the center of the giant eye, the eyes inside would alter the perceivable space and distort the dimensions the closer it got to the eyes, until it was drawn into a spiraling void of eyes.
Where the Pumpkin Head should have made impact in the very center, it would instead be shot out of the same exact location, being inverted outward and projected back out of the eye of the creature in reverse. Now, it should have been shooting back up into the sky with the same velocity, like a slingshot.
The void-like claws that were once knocked aback would then converge upon the speeding away Pumpkin Head, seeking again to pinch it with their tips and halt it in place. The great and mightily enormous mouth of the creature opened up, parting the whole of the barren land, and exposing the entirety of its face, which was mostly its mouth, and the giant eye to a lesser extent. The most emphasis was on the giant mouth. The mouth extended upward, forming a great hill upon the land -- not a mountain, despite being larger than a typical mountain, but a mound, like a hill, except with proportions equated to a mountain. It had no peak, and was rounded, like a hill, save for the giant gap where the ravenous mouth was open, lurching toward the Pumpkin Head, as though to consume it as soon as it was pinched and held in place.

| Clever a perceptive as the raging entity was, and meticulous as it had been about its setup, it was still not outside of the range of speculation nor comprehension of the Pumpkin Head, which immediately nullified the area using a special silent tone stemming from the radiance and emanations of the light within it, which grayed. The rest of its luminance was also grayed, including the illumination of the emerging beast. This was the Zodiac Spirit Leo, whose mouth was its great pride. It had a large enough mouth to feed and to fill, and even greater were the things that should come from them, by how much emphasis is on the greatness of its mouth. Whether it be falsity or fact, the fact of the matter was, whatever was going to emerge from its mouth or resided in its mouth was the source of its power as well as the exchange of energy to power it. This meant its very source of power was also its greatest weakness, in retrospect. And, through the nullification of such a perspective inversion as it had attempted using the large array of eyes of different perspectives, the creature would be blinded in all its eyes because of all of their perspectives and none of them perceiving the perspective of the Pumpkin Head before making all of these altered perspectives for it to witness. Each of them served no meaning to the Pumpkin Head, who had no interest in them, and found nothing to glean from them, no matter how much they were dressed up or disguised. Therefore, the Leo would be blinded, with its mouth wide open, right when it was ready to strike -- right when it was most vulnerable. To most, this spelled danger, since it was only when the creature was ready to act that it revealed this weak spot, and was rather careful and crafty -- even manipulative -- until things were going its way. A clean and clear distinction from when they change their ways after they've gotten what they wanted in contrast to what they do when they haven't yet gotten their way. Thus, the guises it created for itself would backfire the moment it wanted to act, and also linger after it had already gotten what it wished, and even when it wanted something totally different, and abandoned the former quests or ventures of its own vanity. Such an infinite, but shortsighted perspective could come only from vanity, and everything it does geared toward its own vanity -- its own desires, pleasures, and acquisitions. That was what this beast's monstrous form symbolized, at core value. The form that was most pleasing to it. All such analysis aside, the Pumpkin Head consumed the perspectives in the eyes of the giant eye after they were blinded, allowing it to see into the mind and analyze the thoughts of the Leo. By doing that, it traced all the way back to what it wanted the most, as well as the plans it had. It wanted the glory of conquering the Pumpkin Head, and planned to trap it in an altered perspective to stun it and then carefully hold it in place and consume it whilst it was locked in the illusory perspectives it created to throw it off. But, what ended up happening was totally inversely detrimental to the Leo, and the Pumpkin Head ended up catching it off guard, blinding it, with weak spot exposed, and corrected itself to no longer be hurtling away -- which was where the altered perspective reality chain was intended to begin -- and, again, correctly facing the Leo, shooting toward it with intent to pierce it. Thusly... The Pumpkin Head would, with the Pitch Black Blade still moving at voidspeed still in tow, cleave right through the Leo, grinding all its teeth to nothingness and shredding its throat -- literally being 'cutthroat' -- before cutting through the back and turning to see what became of the beast now that its proud roar was no longer proud. | |

| As it was hit directly in its weak point, -- its great, gigantic maw -- the Leo Zodiac Spirit would die of its actual bait and pride of itself because it was so focused on the greater power of its more powerful eyes and perspective by leaving it wide open rather than closed.
Every roar was rendered in the most vehement fashion, squelches and squelphs of squirming screaming continuously resounding degradingly in further degeneration of degradation until it was rend to nothingness, hollowing it out by everything it put its money on... In spite of the clearly more powerful other factors it had.
So, there it would stand; a hollowed idol, towering over the land as a faux fur.
