What are the main topics presented in the documentary?

-Technological Advancement
The way technology has advanced over the course of several decades has been both astonishing and filled with its share of hardship and success.
-Technological Development
As time passed and more inventive ideas were established in the technological world, computers and other automated or mechanical devices became more relevant to the natural way of life and the infrastructure of society.
-Transition Between Technology
Older forms of technology, which were not as autonomously sound, became outdated for greater machines, though the greater machines required more power and experimentation in order to fully operate and be of use in the world.
-Heightened Resourcefulness
Often, it was said that there was a necessity for the development of technology at the peak of an age which required there to be a greater machine to help stabilize the advancement of both the economy and technology's own growth.
-Necessity Of Technological Growth
With people becoming more intelligent and difficult to manage or care for using obsolete methods of science and technology, the growth of the machine became essential to life and the everyday lifestyle of the common man as time progressed.
-Technological Mistakes And Human Error
Of course, over time testing this new technology, there were shares of incidents and mishaps which occurred due to both the err of the inventor and also the lack of knowledge of the fleshed out mechanics of the newer technology, which led to overuse of power and also general flaws or mistakes that happened in the machines and operation of them.
-Business And Marketing
Naturally, when it was discovered that a new type of servicable product suddenly became marketable due to the necessity in the world, the usefulness of greater technology in business became something of a competition and also a popularity contest in certain regards, leading to copies and knockoffs of the greater product for the sake of sales.

What are your reactions to how history unfolded during the presented era?

-Curiosity
I have a personal interest in technology and both its advancement and development over time, so I am curious as to how it both began and the process of its evolution to get from where it was to how it is now.
-Interest
I have looked into the subject of technological advancement and development before and this film helps to put certain pieces of it into perspective based on the period of time wherein which the machine began to take over and become more useful to humans.
-Intrigue
There are certain points, such as when the operation of the machines failed and when the traitors backstabbed the inventor, that stand out to me because of development and experience.
-Disappointment
It is deeply depressing to find that those who spend their hard time and effort doing what is supposed to be great for a great deal of people end up only being cheated by their own colleagues or copied by those with lesser ideas because they believe the product is only something to be sold and not actually something that is meant to better humanity; it makes me truly believe that if not for those who were working with the inventor, the human race would -definitely- be further along than it is.
-Fascination
Astoundingly enough, the events that play out in the scenario end up being something that is of relation to what goes on more frequently now in terms of business, competition and marketing; it seems like instead of just the advancement of technology occurring during the passing decades, the development of an underhanded method of business became more readily available due to the technology, itself, which is fascinating.
-Neutrality
Ultimately, though there were many ups and downs and a general leveling out with the original machine and industry at the end, the effects of it all were more or less neutral bearing a share of good and bad for both technology and business.

How do the technologies presented impact your own use of technology today?

-Growth
Without the first few initial tests and design flaws, we would not have been able to develop greater technology to this day and would still be working with old and obsolete inventions.
-Development
With more mass production, the technology that was deployed (even the ones which were cheap copies) became more readily accessible and prepared for distribution to others for their everyday use, leading to greater technology for everyday use.
-Foundation
These first major concrete developments set a foundation and a basis for all the technology that was to come after it, making it both a cornerstone and a milestone for the height of technology as it has became and had grown.
-Structure
Like a backbone, the inventions of the past supported the growth of that which came in its image or developed because of its foundation, thus creating a stability for further growth without collapse or degeneration down the technological line.
-Communication
The growth of the relay system made it possible for greater forms of communication via technology becoming more advanced and relevant in terms of accessibility to others and communication in general.

What are the shifts in business practices during the 20 years the documentary covers?

-Cooperation
Where it seemed that cooperation was one of the more socially appropriate means of engagement, over time, as newer inventions were introduced, more deception thrived in the industry and among colleagues.
-Teamwork
Teamwork became less of something that a team of people desired to share or do equally and more about who could be more superior than the others and make them work for the one who designed the invention.
-Skills
Greater skills were required for the operation of the machinery and the creation of the technology itself in order to both maintain it and develop it further.
-Operation
In order to grow with technology and also with skills that were necessary for its handling becoming more standardized, operation in and of everyday life shifted with the growth of technology in the economy and the way society handled the introduction into the infrastructure.
-Organization
Because it was so much more difficult to deal with technology in a simplistic fashion as was done before the marker of a greater machine, organization to a greater extent became a must both in operation and in maintenance as well as of the machine, itself, in order for it to function more properly and be used more efficiently.
-Deception
Naturally, as it came to a pinnacle, the business world opened up to deplorable methods of acquiring the product without full comprehension of its capabilities or what was important for its remaining constant; those who were exposed to whatever degree that they were ended up only hurting themselves and winding up under the thumb of the original machine though they created knockoffs in industrial design because they harbored some of the key information for creating these machines.
-Independence
Freedom from certain restrictions that came from a lack of technology being advanced enough for humanity to utilize properly became an imperative pivotal point in the independence of mankind in and of each other, though the dependence suddenly fell on the use of machines rather than on themselves.
-Identity
The loss of humanity became more and more evident as time progressed; the machine became greater, but so much more effort was put into the development of the machine than the man that eventually, man became lost to the machine and its growth in both business and in industry, itself, stunting the growth of civilization in a fashion that was based solely on the major overall focus on technology and no longer on themselves as people.

What is unique about Silicon Valley as a business location?

-Origin
The reason for why Silicon Valley exists is predominantly the main point of its uniqueness since the actual location was imperative for its own fundamental resourcefulness and stability.
-Development
Because of how Silicon Valley came to be and the resources that were natural to the place of its origin, the development became unique in terms of how actually necessary the location and the means of production were for the sound structure of the original facility and each that came afterward.
-Foundation
The stronghold at the origin of Silicon Valley was a strong starting point for the natural grooming of the mechanics and devices that went into the further growth of technology at all.
-Environment
With the natural environment, clean air and abundant resources that were required for even creating the materials for the machines, the land itself that was selected for the initial development and experimentation were key factors to its uniqueness as a foundation.
