| An enormous holographic screen the size of the entire Central City of the Delta with the Me-ou's face upon it.
"All Who Are Seeking Combat With The Tensei, Let The Royal Family Come Upon You And Your Might Be Tested." Shiniere the Me-ou was, of course, sitting in the holographic projection room. This meant that she was broadcasting to everyone in the Veritas at the same time from her superposition in space, thus allowing them to see via projected holographic screens.
"I Will Fight You From Here," she said on her independent screen after making the broadcast to the entire Veritas, "But I Will Make An Appearance If Necessary." She knew that many of the combatants were proud and would take not seeing the Me-ou face to face in the flesh would dishonor them.
Yet, she intended to stay behind her screen and defeat each one of the challengers without having to make an appearance. Not that she would tell them that, though.

| The Delta Residents that were left after the Evacuation were Veterans from Pandemia that knew of the power of a Ruler, because of the fact that they used to have village leaders before everyone settled down and began working on the architecture. They remembered vividly the days when they went to the school of Death and learned of the Soul. They still fought monsters out in the outskirts still to this day. They were more than capable of holding their own against their Me-ou.
Pandemia Veterans: "We'll show you what we're made of!"
Each of them readied their Soul Abilities and also got their Manna gathered. They were more coordinated than the rest of the townsfolk of the Delta due to having been through the teaching of the Soul a long time ago. "Soul Synchronization..." They began to harmonize, which should have caused anything in the vicinity of the city to be within their souls' aura. "Soul Barrier!" They cried in harmony, creating a shield made of their own Soul Energy.

| "Resistance Is Futile, Delta Townsfolk," The Me-ou insisted, saying then, "Launch The Assault."
The earth trembled. Shockwaves rippled throughout the Outskirts of the Mezzo Terra as the terrain suddenly shifted, leaving the Central City completely independent of the rest of the Veritas.
"Isolation, Complete," the Me-ou checked off, stretching the screen up to the sky and then proportioning it to fit the shifted earth, "Locking On Target."
Two enormous hands that were holding the land masses turned each of the different pieces of the continent to face the tiny city that sought to face off against the Me-ou.
"Initiate," the Me-ou commanded, the land masses sprouting several ballistic weapons of every grade and kind. Each of them were launched in succession at the single solitary city, giving them a continent's worth of explosives to deal with. The Me-ou sought to drain their Soul Energy dry in the first shot by overwhelming the Soul Barrier they created and not give them a chance to utilize anymore abilities.
One by one, a missile, rocket, explosive or nuke was being fired off at random all at one target from two different sides. Eventually, they all filled the air in the millions and tens of millions and exploded atop each other, causing several massive explosions that would also break down the Soul Barrier with the backlash of the piled up ballistic weapons exploding in a chain reaction and creating one large, yet contained explosion.
If the barrier didn't hold past the initial shots of weapons hitting and exploding, then there was no way that the students would survive the secondary resulting explosion that came afterward.

| "Hold..." the veterans of Pandemia said, trying to maintain a Soul Barrier.
Due to the sheer magnitude of the assault released upon them, the Soul Barrier broke, yet only after the explosions subsided.
Each of the Pandemia veterans were already drained of their Soul Energy. "We have to perform a Soul Chorus," one of the Veterans said, "Then we can combine our powers!"
The others agreed and let their souls freely release as an aura outside the atmosphere. As the souls grew, they blended together to create an enormous soul that covered the entire city. This soul was an Oversoul, and it had been achieved by the Delta Townsfolk. With it, they all had more powerful abilities and control over the Oversoul.
Pandemia Veterans: "Soul Symphony!"
This time, the Soul Energy that they mustered was multiplied by each of them, thus creating an overwhelming energy that could be used to protect the city using the Oversoul. It rejuvenated them to amplify their power off of each other rather quickly, having them stand up to the one controlling the continent. "Soul Barrier!" they cried, protecting their city using the power of the Oversoul.

| "Oh, Please," said the Me-ou.
The two arms that were holding up the terrain slammed down onto the Soul Barrier from both sides in order to smash it with seismic force of a continental level. "I'm Not Just The Me-ou Of The City Or The School, But Also In ALL The Delta." There was a part of Shiniere that was part of the tree that held them all together, Tinasanti.
She was the middle torso, in fact.
The 'Mezzo Terra'.
Two enormous eyes could be seen at the abdomen of the tree, glaring at the rebellious students. "I'll Have You Know That I Am The Commander In Chief Around Here, And I Always Get My Target!" She had authority like no other in the Veritas, and had the most command over it, in fact. "I Was There Before The School Made Renovations As A Student That Attended Classes There, So I Know My Way Around Some Soul Abilities."
By slamming two jagged continental edges at a tiny piece of land like that, it was bound to crack that Oversoul. "Stop Resisting Before You Get Hurt."

| The Soul Barrier shattered at the might of two continental pieces of land striking at it simultaneously, causing the Pandemia Veterans to become both distressed and drained. They wouldn't be able to keep up their pace after that type of attack, and they knew that 'The Assault' could be launched at them again whilst they were wide open. It was like all of their training was for nothing.
Coming to terms with how weak they were before their Head Mistress and Head Government Official -- the Me-ou -- the Pandemia Veterans decided to give in to the Tensei power.
"We give!" they shouted to the screen, "We can't do anything that can stop the entire continent. We're not like you."
After realizing this, they humbled themselves to the Me-ou and no longer sought opposition to the Tensei.
"But," they said, "We want to grow stronger even still! You cannot be our protector forever and we want to be able to protect each other with THAT kind of power!" This was their humble request to their Me-ou.

| The very large screen said, "Very Well." The visual flickered to the surface of the core the two arms of the Veritas were attached to. The land masses upon the arms were lowered back into their positions on the Mezzo Terra, thus forming it once again. "My Power Far Exceeds Even That, And You May Learn If You Join My Special Forces."
This was the Me-ou's judgment.
"I'll Honor You As Special Operatives That Serve Directly Under Me," said the Me-ou, Shiniere. "Your Power To Create An Oversoul By Yourselves Made An Impression On Me." She could use students like them in her ranks.
As such, the war was over in the Delta due to the overwhelming power of the Me-ou with an astounding control over the continent, itself. When things were back to normal, the Pandemia Veterans inducted into the Me-ou's special forces -- The Veritas Elite Order -- and given ranks and titles based on their capabilities.
The Me-ou rested. | |
