*Within the main arena of the Colosseum the large roar of the crowd would shake the arena slightly. In the center of the arena four large battle zones could be seen for each match that was about to occur. While large each battle zone would also be equipped with large domes around them so while people could clearly see the battle any attacks or environmental based ability would only occur within the dome so not to bother the other matched. After a moment the ground around where the trainers would appear on opposite sides of the battle zone would open and platforms would arise bringing in the two trainers.*
Akira walked onto the field and looked around to get a good luck at the entire arena before the battle began. He then walked over to the opposite side of the field awaiting his opponent so that they could begin their pokemon battle. While waiting for his opponent akira began to toss a small ember around from hand to hand to keep him occupied.
As she rose up from the platform, hovering slightly above the ground, as per use, her cold and unwelcoming gaze shot clear across the stage and toward her opponent, who fiddled with a flame on his side of the arena. She smirked, snapping her fingers, the sound wave instantly freezing a small portion of land around her, creating an icy throne for her to sit on. Plopping straight down in her chair, she crossed a leg and placed a fist on her cheek, leaning on it lightly.
"Heh. Cake walk."
She was eager to battle, too. Her pokemon hadn't had a chance to formally battle, and this was their time to test their strength.
"Alright, who feels like going out first?"
Her other hand raised up beside her, her index finger extended and swirling about the air casually. Soon, as if sucked into her orbit, would all of her currently equipped Pokeballs spin as well, until they were swirling on their own in front of her face.
"Hmmm..."
Watching closely, she found the single pokeball that gleamed before her eyes, and it belonged to Kalamari, her Tentacruel.
"Heh. Alright, give em hell, you big bastard!"
She flicked the Pokeball onto the field, revealing her first pokemon, Tentacruel.
The overwhelmingly large Pokemon loomed over the area with dark eyes and a twisted mind, ready to gnarl and gnash the others that were going to get in its way.
"Hahaha... Try not to kill them, okay, Mari?"
That was gonna be difficult for THIS cruel being...
As his opponent made her way on to the field akira began to smirk. The fire ball that he was flickering wash crushed in the palm of his hand.
"Alright lets get this started then..."
Akira reached for his belt that holstered all of his pokeballs and grabbed a specific pokeball. Akira looked at the giant squid pokemon as it stood there on the field.
Tossing the pokeball into the air akira's first pokemon was reveiled. It was none other than his mighty rhydon. Akira's rhydon was a brute standing way above akira and most tree's on the planet.
As the mighty rhydon made its appearance on the field it looked at the tentacruel and began to growl in anger. Both pokemon were on the field and now the battle could begin. Rhydon stomped its foot on the ground and stood its ground.
She smirked. Then, not even moments later, her smirk grew to a large grin. And finally, she started to snicker, which grew eventually into a rather tickled laugh.
"Two giants, eh...? Lucky I didn't get that evil Con Carne in this battle..."
That Gyarados was simply unruly. At least Kalamari was obedient... Only cuz he knew he'd get to go wild under Luci's command. Every time.
"... Then that means... You don't have to hold back, do ya, Big Boss?"
She held her hand up again, fingers in motion for snapping, and the massive Tentacruel undulating with anticipation from the roar of the Rhydon.
"... Sic em."
*Snap*
Immediately, his eyes gleamed a burning red, and the crystals atop his gelatinous head gleamed with the utmost rage-filled intensity. He was not given a specific order, because Luci knew that he knew EXACTLY what he wanted to do. He took after her in his technique, and the very moment his orbs took in as much heat as they could, they turned crystal clear, glimmering with a translucent bluish hue that looked like ice itself. Suddenly, from the three blue crystals, an ENORMOUS beam of pure and utter freezing cold concentrated energy shot out toward the chest of the Rhydon, with all the intention to chill him to the very bone, only to be shattered by tentacles later... Already, he was out for blood.
As the beam of ice made its way towards rhydon's chest he would jumped to the side with insane speed dodging the attack completely. Now taking this moment to retaliate rhydon opened its huge mouth and released a massive beam of ice streaking right at tentacruel. For some strange reason this ice beam attack seemed more powerful than before maybe rhydons killer intent was powering up its attacks.
What ever the case was these two monstrous pokemon intended to kill each other not just knock them unconscious.
"Dumbass..."
The beam of freezing ice shot from the Rhydon's face whirled around his head, changing now into a halo of pure light. The Rhydon was confused, thinking that an Ice Beam was coming, when in actuality, it was nothing more than the illustrious Confuse Ray, now a spinning halo of light hovering above his head... drawing attention from its light.
Mari: Ya fucked up, see?
The cruel beast uttered in an Al Capone-esque fashion. The gigantic jellyfish extended its tentacles straight into the ground, about 40 of them, pulling his body straight down into the terrain, as if digging himself his own hole. Now, only the top half of him could be seen; the blue part with the crystal eyes atop his head. Just then, the 40 tentacles dug their way out of the earth and sprouted up like sentient beings all across the field. He had a free turn to set up. And now...
"Surf him up a cold dessert, eh, Don Kalamari?"
Mari: Coitenly!
From the tips of the tentacles, like beautiful, yet destructive fountains, water began to splash upward and began to fill up the domed area at an extremely swift rate. This Rhydon had no hope.
He opened his mouth while he stumbled around thanks to the confuse ray, while stumbling rhydon roared out thus calling down a massive beam of lightning. This burst of lightning struct the water that was filling up the area and everything that came in contact with the water would be severely damaged. There was no hope for the tentecruel. This was rhydon's thunder attack.
Luci shook her head, the water parting right at the foot of her throne, and a yawn of boredom gently graced itself from her lips.
"Good effort, but..."
She pointed her finger toward the Rhydon, closing her eyes and devilishly snickering to herself.
"... A drill's tip is metal... I think that acts as a lightningrod, hm...?"
The Rhydon's special ability; Lightningrod. The thunder that was drawn down would be guided to the wet drill, causing all of the electricity to strike the Rhydon and be contained, rather than spread out across the water. However... His power boost would be great...
"... Big Boss. Give him a scalding scolding now..."
Don Kalamari: This buffoon? I've seen more balls than that on an ice cream cone!
Those eyes... those burning, bright red eyes... From deep below the surface, of the now bubbling waters, two piercing red eyes could be seen smoldering from down under, boiling the waters and broiling the Rhydon.
Don Kalamari: You're lookin like a mighty good appetizer right now, see...? Might hafta let you sleep with the fishes for a little while...
He hungered for this beast... It looked delicious... from below the waters...
Akira began to smile seeing how luci had underestimated rhydon. As rhydon stood there chocked full of electricity he looked directly at the tentecruels bright red eyes while it stayed in that same spot under the water.
Both of rhydons fist began to glow and not a second sooner did rhydon thrust both of its mighty fist into the ground. As rhydons fist collided with the earth deep below the water a large buzzing sound would now fill the air around the arena.
What could this sound be?
This was rhydons thunder punch attack. But not just any thunder punch. This double thunder punch was 4 times as strong thanks to the pent up electricity from the thunder and not to mention the mega power boost rhydon got from enduring such a powerful thunder.
The ground began to shake ever so violently due to the magnitude of rhydons attack. The field began to crack and the waters that tentacruel tried to feel the arena with were now pulsating with billions of volts. There was nothing that tentacruel could do while being half way burried in the earth. This attack was nothing less than deadly.
Luci's brow twinged in accord with the edge of her curled up smirk, as if rather impressed by his cunning, but also having planned ahead for even that.
"Barren... You've sucked yourself dry."
The fist impacting the water released the electrical current instantly into the burning pool and fizzled out, super charging the water and intensifying the scalding heat, making it all evaporate instantaneously in unison with the scalding heat itself. The Rhydon was sucked dry of all of its power, and left vulnerable to attack... weakened...
Don Kalamari: And ready for a good stir fry...
Sucking out the electricity before evaporating the water solved many problems, and made way for new opportunity to ensue. The Rhydon, now weak, would be vulnerable to all of the tentacles still idly wriggling by around his now tired body. Seeing this frame to attack, those cruel, burning eyes lashed out again, like the poisonous, agonizing tentacles that lunged at the Rhydon from every corner with oozing tips.
"Oh, don't be too brutal now... I said go 'all out,' but we're not trying to kill anyone... This time."
Mari listened to every command that she said. He was completely obedient... And she was rather lenient... And that was their mutual agreement.
Don Mari: Heh. Don't worry, pretty girl, I ain't gonna pull em six feet under or nuttin, see?
He chuckled viciously... Viciously... Chuckled...
rhydon was indeed tired from the continuous attack but this was not time to rest. A single hit from any of these poisonous tentacles could spell the end for rhydon. As the tentacles quickly approached rhydon would stomp its foot on the ground causing a large earthquake to take place. This large scale earthquake closed the openings in the earth so any and everything protruding from the earth could now be stuck in one spot not being able to move forward or backwards.
The tentacels stopped right infront of rhydon inches away from striking him. With tentacruel's movements now heavily restricted rhydon had the upper hand. It took this chance to menouver away from the tentacles reach. Once it got to a safe distance rhydon dug its feet into the ground and placed its hands on the ground as well.
Rhydon opened its mouth and began to charge what seemed to beam a massive ball of sheer power. This was its hyper beam attack. Tentacruel was stuck in one stop thanks to the earthquake and now it was seconds away from being decimated by a hyper beam.
Just when all seemed to be going as planned, the tenacious Rhydon continued to persist, quaking the very earth below its feet to keep itself from the harmful sting of these poisonous, deadly tentacles. Yet, with its gelatinous body, the earthquake was drawn directly into the Tentacruel, all of the seismic waves being kept in place at the very center of the Tentacruel's body.
Like fruit inside of gelatin, the body of the creature jiggled with the same intensity that the earth would have if such seismic waves weren't drawn into the water-like body, yet didn't create a rupturing destruction of everything around it, keeping the earth completely stilled. All of the stored power reverberated within the Tentacruel, waiting for its potential energy to be utilized.
*SWASH*
Several of the tentacles nearby lashed out viciously at the Rhydon, this time much faster than normal. With the ultra intense vibrations from the absorbed earthquake, the strikes from the tentacles now would be several times worse than before. The poison-tipped tendrils now had the shared blasting power of that earthquake times the power that the Tentacruel initially had behind its heavy hits.
"He's been wounded already by that good scalding... So destroy his armor... He's been weakened, and now you've been powered up..."
And so, the storm began. Lashes everywhere, like venomous snake bites, ready to strike at every single turn. To this Rhydon, every turn was a death trap, for every tendril threatened to destroy its hard rocky armored plating with ease. Tread carefully...
The tentacles quickly approached and rhydon didnt have enough time to finish charging the hyper beam but he did have enough time to charge a decent sized one. Rhydon released the power of the hyper beam completely ripping apart the ground between tentacruel and rhydon. The beam tore through the air faster than the tentacles could travel even with their power boost from the earthquake. All of the tentacles would be caught in the blast and their asult on rhydon would be cut short before they could actually be effective.
rhydons power boost from the thunder was still powering up his attacks and now in this battle every little bit would help. Tentacruel was trying its hardest to take out rhydon but it wasn't happening.
Akira looked at the battle and shook his head at how this battle was turning out right from the beginning.
"This is still only the first match, wow this will surely be a good match cant wait to see what else she's got in store."
The hyperbeam was still roaring through the air headed right for tentacruel chocked full of power this hyper beam had enough destructive force to tear through layers and layers of the earth so it could make quick work of a tentacruel.
Kalamari tried hard to thrash and crash this Rhydon before the Hyper Beam was finished, yet the Rhydon had already prepped it at least a little before it was fired off. However, the tentacles were still in motion... And a sinister, chilling smirk was still frozen on Luci's face. She had even planned this far ahead...
"... Let him have a look in the mirror for a while, eh? Let him have a taste of his own medicine..."
The blazing Hyper Beam tore through the landscape, decimating everything in its path to get to this Tentacruel... But Big Boss Kalamari caught on to the hint, and those crystal eyes atop his head started to lose their luster for a moment, changing to a translucent blue.
*KADOOOOM!!!!!*
Impact. Smoke shrouded the entirety of the Tentacruel's area, leaving it to be believed that it had been hit directly by this devastating attack...
But something was off.
A small hum could be heard in the cloudy veil of smoke, something that sounded like charging energy... Followed by a bright, white light of pure, raw and utter energy... The light that emanated from the Tentacruel's crystal eyes. The light from the Hyper Beam had been stored within the crystal eyes as mirrors, having taken in and doubled the power of the Hyper Beam through the use of Mirror Coat. And now, for the secondary effect of Mirror Coat...
Don Mari: Looks like you'll be going six feet under tonight, rocky...
Those sly tentacles, which had never stopped lashing a single moment during the Rhydon firing the Hyper Beam, had now wrapped themselves around the beast's arms, legs, torso and neck, restraining him completely for this next destructive and most likely decisive blow. The poison seeped into its brittle armor to toxify the great ground titan, and cause him even more strife before the true storm came...
"Now... Give em Hell..."
She licked her lips, anxious to show this Rhydon was true 'hell' was for messing with this Gangster of the Sea... And so, in a bright flash of light, the Hyper Beam, double its original size, speed and power, was fired directly from the three mirror-like eyes atop his head, ultimately obliterating everything directly in front of the Tentacruel.
Oddly enough, the Rhydon was also restrained directly in front of Akira, as to not kill the trainer from such a devastating blow. So, Rhydon would be taking the blow for himself and for Akira... Cuz Don Kalamari didn't care who he took out to get to his goal. He was just being considerate by thinking about Akira's safety, too.
"Ooo... These lights are so pretty~."
This illustrious light... It illuminated the entire stadium with a shine like no one had seen before. The great white light of pure and utter annihilation.
"Don't go into the white light now, boys~."
She was such a tease.
The tentacles held onto rhydon tightly and their poison was trying to make its way through its thick armor but it wasnt working. It would need an open wound to penetrate rhydons heavy armored skin. Rhydon looked over its shoulder back at akira and as their eyes met akira smiled and nodded his head as if giving rhydon the ok for something.
Rhydon turned his head back so he was facing the blast head on. While looking at the blast inches away from hitting its mark rhydon closed its eyes and lowered its head. Was this the end for rhydon? was he giving up? Rhydon opened its eyes and a monsterous sized ball of energy surrounded its entire body. The tencles would no longer be able to hold on to rhydons body seeing as how it was now engulfed in this strange new orb. This was rhydon's protect attack.
The huge hyper beam hit its mark but instead of rhydon it hit the protect which covered akira and rhydon from taking any damage. The entire field was now covered in thick fog that made it impossible to see one's hand directly infront of them. Rhydon began hammered the ground causing something weird to happen but nothing happened at that moment or so it seemed...
The air was still buzzing from that explosion a few moments ago and the field was still engulfed in smoke. rhydon began to charge towards tentacruel with unrelenting force. Nothing could stop this giant beast from getting through. Rhydons horn was spinning in such a rapid motion that it was cutting through the dense smoke and causing it to spiral around the horn as well. This was rhydons drill run attack.
Her icy grin quickly shifted to a cold and unwelcoming grimace, with a sharp, chilling stare to match.
"Protect, huh? Highly frowned upon..."
She was rather upset about that one. But now, since he wanted to play this game like that... She didn't have to hold back.
"He's gonna use protect. That means, it's alright to go for the kill. Since protect blocks out everything, right?"
People who used protect... It made her upset. He wasn't even trying anymore.
Don Mari: Yeah, see? I'll serve him up good for ya, see...?
The jiggling jelly beast undulated even more, still having power stored inside of it from the earthquake, which was rather useful for its next devastating attack. The crystal eyes shone bright once more, and around its shaking body, the ground started to crack... and fill with water.
"Supersonic... Water Pulse..."
From the power of the quaking earth in addition to this Water Pulse along with special sound waves to power it up even farther, there was a huge torrent of water that destroyed ALL of the land in the area in one gigantic tidal splash, most likely sending the Rhydon deep under the water or slamming into the limited space of the barrier. And more waves continued to come to smack him, each more powerful than the next, smashing, crashing, bashing... Trying to completely destroy its armor.
"And there's still more for ya, big boy. We're not stopping until you're dead. Using 'Protect' on us... Feh. We'll show you why you REALLY need protection."
She hated when people used 'Protect.'
The massive waves of sought to push rhydon to the border of the arena but that just wasn't going to happen. As the huge waves approached rhydon he would begin to glow a bright white color. This strange light covered rhydon's entire body as if it were a second skin.
The water crashed down upon rhydon with impressive force but rhydon being a rock ground type should instantly loose after being hit with such a strong water attack right? In the depths of the water rhydon was still glowing that same bright white color. It was endure. Rhydon continued stopped running and began to use surf to help him move through the waters. With his drill still spinning rhydon would be zooming through the waters as if he were a torpedo.
Rhydon was still using drill run however with the speed boost from using surf tentacruel would have a problem on its hands if this attack made contact.
"Ugh... Stupid..."
A disappointed chill brushed pass the arena, wiping clean the facade of the waters being knocked away. The Rhydon had befallen the same fate as before; confusion unlike any other.
"You fell for the same trick twice...?"
The water was powered by the sound waves of Supersonic in addition to the earthquake vibrations, thereby instantly making the confusion effect of the Water Pulse technique to become absolute. Those that even touched these waters would fall into a confused disarray; including the trainer.
As such, both Rhydon and Akira would endeavor the same type of confusion at the same time, letting Akira also see exactly what the Rhydon sees at the exact same time. Like some sort of synchronized genjutsu...
"... And what's even worse..."
In actuality, the Rhydon drilled downward, spiraling straight down lower and lower into the waters, deeper into its super-effective bane. Falling ever lower to confusion, never to escape the pulsating, rushing currents... He would stay confused in these waters for all of eternity under the cruel and watchful eye of Don Kalamari, the cruelest Tentacruel.
Mari: You're done for, see...?
With the entire arena now filled with the waters, there was no space left to run to... Except for Luci's tiny parted gap in between the water currents... Only for her to see without getting wet.
"... A bore."
And Don Kalamari hadn't even attacked yet. From the deep, black murkiness that was the new depth of the battlefield, huge, shadowy tendrils darted through the darkness and toward the Rhydon; there seeming to be almost a hundred in total. They would lash, snap and snare him, shattering that body to a billion pieces in his utter disoriented confusion. And with the sting of each tentacle cloaked in the water's night, there was a venomous bite that hid behind each deadly whip. This crazy mob boss was going to tear this Rhydon limb from limb... And so, he started to pull from every side... Even to dehorn the proud Rhydon's drill.
From every angle. Luci was not playing when she said not to hold back. That Protect really got to her, it seemed.
It was clear that the protect that rhydon used haad gotten to luci as well as her tentacruel but it mattered not. Akira could see what was going on. He was not affected by the confusion of the waters since his draconic eyes allowed him to see through deception. However rhydon wasn't so lucky to have this perk.
With rhydon going deeper and deeper into the water there was only thing left to do and giving up wasnt one of them. Rhydon couldn't see that there was still only one tentacruel but akira could see and he would place his bet on this next tactic.
As rhydon was being bombarded by the poisonus tentacles he would have to try and figure something out quick or he would loose this battle right here. Rhydon turned its head towards the surface of the water and then closed its eyes shut. After 5 seconds rhydon opened its eyes which were glowing a strange bright red color. Rhydon still being hit by the tendrills summoned an almighty bolt of thunder that pierced the waters and completely engulfed rhydons body.
"... Hmph. And reckless, too..."
Luci's eyes caught the flash of light in her crystalline eyes, able to see every frame of light being constructed inside the Rhydon before the lightning was even fully pulled together, and called for an Icy Wind to brew from the tips of the tentacles. Like water jets, the frigid air immediately blew through the water to create an air bubble around each one and freeze over the entirety of the area with a poisonous frosty mist. Not only could the electricity not be formed by the coldness of the mist, but also the thickness of the poison mixed into its glassy fog. With the electrical current dispelled at the very source and the water completely frozen over around the Rhydon, even its lungs should have been chilled by this venomous arctic fog.
"You're starting to look a little foolish, ya know?"
It seemed like no matter what, she was out for this Rhydon's death in every possible way imaginable. At least it wouldn't be sinking to the very bottom of the arena... Where the true murder lurks...
"Foolish....naah"
Rhydon simply closed its eyes and that was all there was to it. Whatever was happening would continue.
She shook her head and closed her eyes.
"Not gonna switch yet? This is your only chance..."
The Tentacruel seemed to stop everything it was doing to simply allow the Rhydon to switch out. Huh. Maybe she did have a heart.
Rhydon opened its eyes with haste after a decent amount of time had passed. Rhydons body looked as if it had been rejuvenated. This was thanks to rhydons rest ability which allowed his body and energy to be recovered fully as well as dispel any and all ailments.
After opening its eyes rhydon looked around the area for a bit to see what was going on. After doing so rhydon clenched his fist and electricity began to erupt from both hands. rhydon then slammed them into each other with impressive force. Rhydons fist were heavily electrified thanks to his thunder punch attack. With both hands emitting billions of volts rhydon slammed both hands into one another thus sending out waves of electricity in every direction.
The waves of electricity would only make things worse considering every inch of the water was now coursing with an overwhelming amount of electricity.
She sighed, tapping her tinger upon her icy throne disappointedly.
"I guess this is what I get for being fair... Alright, you cruel bastard... Let him have one..."
She smiled to herself, quite prepared to use her next pokemon. Finally. The Tentacruel stopped everything that it was doing, retracting its tentacles and waiting for the impending shock that was coming toward him through all of this water.
"... Endure."
So, all the 'billions' of volts of electricity simply... Didn't matter. The electrified Tentacruel stared at the Rhydon with a fury unlike any other.. One that marked Rhydon's death.
"And now, return..."
She snapped her fingers, her pokeball acting on its own and returning the Tentacruel to the pokeball.
"... Alright, so... Who wants to come out this time? Don Mari's already set the battlefield..."
It was completely and utterly filled with water. She had the type advantage, so she didn't care about what this Rhydon was doing. It would simply drown after a while. Being so big, so heavy, not knowing how to swim, and brimming with electricity would only go for so long. It is a ground type, after all.
"... Great General Gouzen..."
He burst from his Pokeball, directly into the center of the water... A Gastrodon, drifting slowly down to the very bottom of the depths of the water.
"Set up the fortress."
With a Sticky Hold set on the flat surface below, Gouzen stared at the Rhydon that was here with it... Electricity wouldn't work on it, and thus, this Rhydon was completely and utterly useless.
"... Might as well just run away now, little Rhydon... Gouzen doesn't budge."
She flipped her hair. This wasn't entertaining... It was just annoying.
I need a real challenge... Sigh.
Akira reached for his belt which contained rhydons poke balls as well as the poke balls containing the rest of his pokemon. Akira returned rhydon to the ball allowing him the rest that he deserved. The next pokemon that was up was arcanine. Arcanine flew into the air after emerging from the ball.
While falling from the sky arcanine released a massive fire blast towards the water. This massive fire blast stretched to every corner of the dome which caused the water occupying the field to immediately evaporate. With the Water gone the filed was now back to how it was in the beginning.
Arcanine Landed on the ground a few feet away from gastrodon. As gastrodon stood there a smirk could be seen on akiras face. Suddenly hundreds of rocks would rocket towards gastrodon without warning striking from every direction. This was rhydons stealth rock attack that he used earlier on in the match. Every time luci threw out a new pokemon they would be injured by an unavoidable barrage of rocks.
While standing there arcanine lowered its head and bore his fangs at gastrodon paying close attention to its next move.
Though the dome was supposed to be filled with water... Somehow that Arcanine seemed to have the air and the space to come out dry. A likely story. Either way, the water was evaporated, and the ground was soaked. Gouzen hadn't moved a bit throughout the entire thing, either.
As the rocks shot forth at the gelatinous general, yet he was, as his name suggests, unmoved by their attempts. Locking himself to the ground, his body began to jiggle and gurgle, until from all around, a burst of water pulsated from his body and domed around him like an explosion, the Water Pulse forcing away all of the rocks before they could even make contact.
There, he would stand, staring down the Arcanine that bore its fangs at him, and with resolve unshaken, he would begin to intensify the jiggling of his porous form... Until the earth below forced torrents of mud high into the air, for it to coat the entire field in its disgusting muck. This Mud Sport would definitely make it difficult for this Arcanine to function correctly...
"... Hmph. Copying me won't work this time..."
