Sacred Beast Chapter 2; Dusk Security Force

After the entire scenario with the Pack and getting into the city, Alpha and his entire clan (or, what was left of them), would have rested in the place known as the 'Midnight Order,' where the leader of the group known as the 'Dusk Security Force,' which was the cat-girl that they'd engaged in combat with as allies before, was the leader of.

The young wolf girl that had become acquainted with her was bestowed upon the spirit of the wolf brother that had been lost, and he would exist with her as her 'Spirit Guardian' of sorts, and they would share their power as seen fit. This happened whilst the Sacred Dog Beast that was now the Alpha of the pack had explained, in full and complete detail, what had occurred and what they were to do from there, which was why they were set up in the Midnight Order. It was time for the pack to see the head of this city and make their arrangements about living. If all went well and they could come to a treaty of peace, then they wouldn't need to live in the wilderness anymore, and might be part of the Dusk community. This is what the Alpha hoped would become of this. So, he and his remaining kinsman, of which there seemed to be only 3 (including the girl and not including himself) would wait to be greeted.

There was only a short time of absence between the time that Chroma had left the Wolf Pack and been called off elsewhere and the time that she returned to them in a black and white blur from above, appearing in the same form and manner that she'd left them before. This should have given them enough time to talk and get themselves oriented as they saw fit before they continued. The first thing she said when presented before the Alpha, of whom she knew harbored the spirit of the Sacred Beast inside him was, "... My apologies for your losses to this city." She was knelt honorably on a single knee, remorseful than such had to even occur, but quickly rose after she'd spoken her peace, in order to get down to business. "Know that the spirits of those that were lost rest in peace in the Dusk, and if you have not already gathered them, then you may do so from the cemetery beyond the Midnight Mountains." Chroma already had a special connection with the only wolf girl of the clan and felt bad about what almost happened to those that remained. She was aware of how Spirits worked and knew that she could speak to a Great Spirit with all such knowing, as opposed to, perhaps, the Clansmen that may not know about how the Spirits function. "... I wish to be the representative of the Dusk and say this on our behalf. If there is anything that you need, you'll be welcomed to it and treated as honored guests here, Wolf Clan." She hoped that the Dog Spirit would not be too upset and that he would take the accommodations for the losses on behalf of the Dusk.

The Alpha, who would naturally be speaking on behalf of the remaining Wolf Clan, stood with arms crossed and a contemplative look upon his face. He seemed remorseful about the losses of his allies in such a short time, having his pack dwindling only to the three that were behind him and he, himself, but found solace in the knowing that the lost spirits could be inherited, much like he had done for his brother before and bestowed upon his sister that still lived. The clan would live on in spirit, if not in flesh, and the Sacred Dog Beast was fine with this.

"There are no hard feelings, gal," he said with a low, but very casual voice, "... The Bond of the Wolves lives on beyond just this flesh alone. Dead or alive, the Pack is still the Pack, and we ride together in Body and in Spirit." He looked at her and his face softened, seeing and hearing in her that she was truly upset about what occurred here, and wished to make her feel better. "... Don't be so glum. You saved one of mine and in doing that, you've proven yourself before my eyes and hers. Even for a cat." He chuckled, knowing that she had the spirit of the Cat within her; that which no longer held a place in the Zodiac. This could count towards sort of a 'redemption' to the Cats that lost their spot long ago. "Tell ya what; let us live here and join your city. I feel more indebted to you than you do to me. I wanna rest here and have a peaceful life with my men. Repopulate the clan without having to hide. If we can just have that, then we'll lend you our services as 'Watchdogs' or somethin." If they were going to help the Wolf Clan, then the Wolf Clan would, without a doubt, help out in return and pull their weight around the city. "How's that sound?"

Chroma bowed to him, still feeling ashamed that she even allowed something like that to happen under her watch. She'd always been like that, especially nowadays, that she'd grown more mature. She wished to take greater responsibility for this than was due, and felt like it was only proper to do so. "... The Dusk thanks you for your understanding. We will erect a place for you to rest in peace, Wolf Clan." She lifted her head, gazing at the Alpha in the eyes to affirm her sincerity, continuing on to say, "You will be inducted into the Dusk Security Forces alongside the Phantoms as a special 'Beast' unit. You all may at any time don the mask of the Phantom as honorary members and also collect members of your own Beast unit to grow as you see fit." Chroma felt like giving them their own special house as well as a place in the Dusk Security Forces as their own Task Force would be enough compensation, then. "... If you need anything else, don't hesitate to come find me in my office inside. You are special members of the Dusk and it will be known that the Lycan and any of the Wolf Tribe may be revered here. You may walk freely, as man, beast or man-beast. But before you roam, let us deal with the citizens first. They may not be so comfortable initially." They were still strange and what many would call 'supernatural' entities, despite their realness. "You may need to play the 'Watchdog' role for a while to the citizens so that they warm up to you."

Alpha laughed heartily, though not in contempt or anything, but simply out of expression of his jovial mood thanks to the girl's sincerity. She was adorable. "Hyahahaa!!! Nah, we don't need all of that. Just let us crash here in this 'Midnight Order' and we'll be good. Nothing else." He was of both honor and loyalty, as the Dog Spirit should be, and wouldn't ask her to go out of her way if they could make due with just this alone. He stroked his chin, though, pondering her idea about them going out and helping people in order to gain a bit of notoriety for their good deeds, finding it to be a pretty decent way for them to become accepted here. "Ya know, that ain't such a bad idea. Hahaha! Yeah, I like it! Just let your boys rest and me and mine will take care of the Dusk for a while! Or, maybe even they could join forces and be allies on the field!" Phantoms and Werewolves? It sounded like a pretty solid team of fighters against any foe. "Whatever the Dusk needs, you got it, girlie!" He seemed to be in really good spirits about this, and it showed all over his face. Dogs had a hard time hiding their true feelings, so if one likes you, it likes you.

"Oh, but while my mind's fresh on it..." he turned around to his pack, saying to them, "Go to the Cemetery that was spoken of and gather the spirits of the fallen members of the pack. With the power I've Blessed to our sister, you should not only be able to See Spirits but also Collect them. Let the Spirit of our fallen brother help guide you three to the others." If they had units both in Flesh and in Spirit, then they would be able to do more for the Clan and the City as a whole. "Move out immediately." He saluted them casually and returned his attention to the leader of the Phantoms. "Uh, so what was your name again, gal? Feel sorta bad not knowing, after all you're doin' for us."

"Chroma, the Cheshire Cat" she responded immediately, standing to her feet and saluting, "Head of the Veritas Elite Order: Dusk Security Forces; Midnight Order." After having this entire operation passed down to her by her father, the former head of the Dusk and Phantom unit, Chroma was the new leader of the entire unit and the Dusk branch of security forces altogether. "I think it would be best if both the Beast and Phantom unit went out together. That way, if the Wolf Clan and the Phantoms are seen actively working together, there can be as little confusion about this as possible." If there were any other happenings in the city at the time, Chroma didn't want people to become perturbed by another strange occurrence. She wondered how they would be taking the last one. Some of them might even still have been jarred about what went on before the Time Skip. "But I will handle the crowd control. I have connections to the head of the city." If there was one thing she liked about her family, it was these connections. Sometimes, it made getting tasks that would take a lot more effort less time to get accomplished. "What are your plans? Feel free to take it easy and let me handle things, if you like."

With the Wolf Clan mobilized and the Alpha speaking head-to-head with the Head of the operation pretty casually and openly, he figured that he might as well take advantage of getting this kind of greeting rather than anything else that might have come from someone on a lower level. "Well, I suppose the best thing I can do is appreciate the kindness by taking a seat," he'd say with a hearty chuckle, already seeing that this young gal had everything under control. "No matter what, though, only I have final say about what me and the boys do. Y'understand, kid?" She may have been the leader of the organization they were allying with, but Alpha was still the Alpha of the pack, and no matter what, they would all follow his lead overall. "If you do, then show me the way to my quarters, cap'n." Alpha wouldn't downplay her own authority as head of the entire get-up she had here, and if he wanted his respect for his authority, it was proper to give it to the one he was asking for it from. Even if he already had it anyway.

"Understood, Sir," Chroma affirmed decisively, the cheshire grin on her mask's face widening, "Right this way..." Chroma would escort their honored guest to his quarters, signalling for the Phantoms to commence their Orders immediately along the way.
