Triton, the Great Gouzen, Water God of the Veritas, leisurely perused the Water Sanctuary. He was tranquil, but somewhat bored. Water was not always stagnant nor gentle, and unfortunately, the supposed-to-be-fluid elemental was rather bored. There was no movement nor transition in him, which was bad for water, which was meant to be in flux most of the time and not stagnant nor standing for great period of time. Even from state of matter to state, it was always transitioning, be it from solid ice to liquid water or gaseous vapor, and did that cyclically.
So this was definitely terrible for him to be doing nothing for so long.
But that period did not go without meditation. In fact, he thought up many things, though acted on very little. Though in his own state of torture, he considered many other types of torture. Possibly because he was in a state of torturous boredom and stagnancy, and so that is where his mind drifted -- toward torture.
Shifting through the nexus of waters throughout the Water Sanctuary, he appeared then in a room with a few stone statues. Where one was standing, he condensed an isolated pool of water on the ceiling above. With inspiration of the 'Chinese Water Torture', he pondered also about the eventual erosion water had on any substance if it was exposed to it for too long. So, he thought, what if he simulated the Chinese Water Torture for a minimum of a thousand years and see the results of the water erosion from the single repetitive drop?
So it began, drop at a time, upon the unfortunate stone statue that would now be subject for a thousand years.
