Avisora (Bird) Species List Empty
PostSubject: Avisora (Bird) Species List   Avisora (Bird) Species List EmptyWed Nov 19, 2014 6:12 am

List of the types of Avisora (Bird) creatures.

From the Latin word 'Avis' meaning 'Bird' and the Japanese 'Sora' meaning 'Sky.' Thus, it is pronounces 'Ah-vee-soar-ah'

Naturally, they are birds and bird-related creatures. (The land was named before they were, so they are the 'Avisorans.')

They come in a wide variety, just like normal birds, however some are very large and have the appearance of bipedal people. They are not like the Harpies and Tengu who are actually half-human, but are completely bird or bird-like species. They tend to flock around the Avisora Paradisia, since that is the 'Avisora Paradise.' Their keeper is the Bird of Paradise, also known as the Rainbird.

Bird - These wildlings are the most diverse and colorful of their kin. All of them bear wings on their backs with talons replacing their legs and feet. Generally make great messengers as they can cross vast distances in a short period of time.

Harpy

Males = Tengu
Females = Harpy

They are bird-people normally with the power to control sound and some sort of magic. The Tengu are more magical whilst the Harpies are more physical. Tengu use many sacred and ancient magic to fight and usually have less physical combat skill. Harpies use the power of their voices and their many physical abilities to fight. They have less magical combat skill.

Bird-man creatures that come in various different shapes and forms, and typically are masters of the manipulation of sound and wind. Adept fliers with lightweight bodies, the Harpies specialize in songs whilst Tengu specialize in magic.

The common Harpy is generally the most cheerful, but still displays a type of vicious demeanor toward those who bring her ill will. For this, when they are on a rampage, they are known to snatch up passersby and drop them in various locations, or simply take them back to their nests and have the whole flock of Harpies destroy them. Harpies are generally more social than the Tengu, who typically stay out of sight so that they can study other beings in secret. There are some who will confront a being they wish to stud, however, which leads to a friendship between these bird-like people and other races.

Species: Harpy/Tengu
Type: Beastkin (Avian)

Tengu

Males = Tengu
Females = Harpy

Tengu are stronger than most Harpies and are generally the masculine form of them, in most cases. They fly around the skies at high speeds and are gifted with the knowledge of ancient and divine magics. Because of this, they are considered more divine than their Harpy counterparts.

They seclude themselves in specific parts of mountains and forests, typically nearby Harpies, in pursuit of knowledge. They hone their magical skills through rituals and incantations, and seem to act more on their human-like instincts than their bird-like instincts, unlike the Harpies. They seldom appear before humans, but tend to make records of their jutsu, magic, bloodlines and other interesting things about them so that they can study them and learn them for themselves. If there is someone they wish to know more about, they will not hesitate to kidnap them in the night or lure them deep into the forest where they cannot escape. This makes it seem as though people mysteriously disappear or get lost when wandering alone, when it is really the work of a Tengu seeking out the secrets of their techniques.

Name: Tengu (Common)
Species: Tengu/Harpy, Sacred Beast (Bird)
Type: Aerial, Bird, Hybrid
Elemental Affiliation: Wind, Light
Combat Specialty: Magic (Long Range)
Sociability: Secretive, Strong, Cunning
Threat Level: Medium-High
Habitats: Sky Garden, Grand Forge Peak, Great Valley, Pale Forest, Land of Eternal Rain
Weaknesses: Electrical element
Immunities: Silence, Charm, Berserk, Sleep, Vanish
Item Dropped: Secret Potion, Divine Scroll
Additional Info: Harbors Divine Magic. Tengu are the 'male versions' of Harpies.

Divine Magic

Kotengu
小天狗
こてんぐ

Translation: lesser tengu (“divine dog”)
Alternate names: karasutengu (“crow tengu”)
Habitat: mountains, cliffs, caves, forests, areas surrounded by nature
Diet: carrion, livestock, wild animals, humans

Appearance: Kotengu resemble large birds of prey with human-like characteristics. They often wear the robes of the ascetic and mystical hermits called yamabushi, and sometimes carry fine weapons or other items stolen from human homes or temples.

Behavior: Kotengu behave like savage monsters. They live solitary lives, but on rare occasions band together or with other yōkai to accomplish their goals. They accumulate hoards. Kotengu collect and trade trinkets and valuable magical items. When angered they throw tantrums and go on destructive rampages, taking out their anger on anything near them.

Interactions: Kotengu have little respect for humans. They feast on human flesh, and commit rape, torture, and murder for fun. Some of their favorite games are abducting people to drop them from great heights deep into the woods, or tying children to the tops of trees so all can hear their screams but none can reach them. Kotengu kidnap people and force them eat feces until they go mad. They especially revel in sacrilege. They torment monks and nuns, rob temples, and try to seduce clergy.

Kotengu’s greatest weakness is overconfidence. There are countless folk stories about kotengu being duped into trading powerful magical items or giving up valuable information in exchange for worthless trinkets. Foolish kotengu overestimate their own intelligence when trying to trick humans, and end up being tricked themselves.

Daitengu
大天狗
だいてんぐ

Translation: greater tengu (“greater divine dog”)
Alternate names: they usually go by their individual names
Habitat: high, remote mountaintops
Diet: many individuals have preferred foods or strict religious dietary regimens

Appearance: Daitengu are much larger and more imposing than kotengu. They appear in a more human-like form; usually that of a man dressed in the robes of an ascetic monk, with a red face, an incredibly long and phallic nose (the longer the nose, the more powerful the tengu). Large, feathered wings sprout from their backs. Only rarely do they appear in the more primitive avian form of the lesser tengu.

Behavior: Daitengu live solitary lives on remote mountaintops, far removed from humanity. Their lives are spent in thoughtful meditation, intent on perfecting themselves. Daitengu possess greater pride, wisdom, and power than their kotengu cousins, although they can also be just as savage and unpredictable. This savagery combined with intelligence makes daitengu more dangerous. In fact, natural disasters and other great catastrophes are sometimes attributed to the wrath of a powerful daitengu. However, daitengu also possess more self-restraint; there are stories of daitengu giving aid to worthy humans.

Interactions: While kotengu terrorize people whenever they could, over the centuries daitengu were viewed less as the enemy of mankind and more as a race of god-like sages living deep in the mountains. Daitengu became closely connected with the ascetic mountain religion of Shugendō. The mountain mystics grew close to the tengu, seeking their wisdom and worshiping them as divine beings. It is perhaps through this mystic religion that humankind was eventually able to earn the respect of the tengu. Brave men ventured into the unknown wilds in hopes of gaining some of the tengu’s wisdom. Occasionally, tengu would teach secrets and impart magical knowledge to the worthiest of these men. One of Japan’s most famous warriors, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, is said to have learned swordsmanship from the tengu king Sōjōbō.

Sōjōbō
Soujoubou

僧正坊
そうじょうぼう

Translation: high priest
Alternate names: Kurama tengu, Kurama sōjōbō

Appearance: Sōjōbō is the name given to a daitengu who lives on Mount Kurama in the northern part of Kyōto. His home is in Sōjōgatani—”the valley of the high priest”—located deep within the interior of the mountain. He has long, white hair, an incredibly long nose, and possesses the strength of one thousand tengu. Sōjōbō is first in rank among the tengu, and is often referred to as their king.

Origin: Sōjōbō is known through his connection to Kurama Temple, an isolated temple which practices a unique branch of esoteric Buddhism. Kurama Temple has long had a connection with yamabushi and ascetic mountain religions, and the tengu which these religions worship. Because Sōjōbō resides there, Mount Kurama is also considered to be the most important mountain to tengu. According to Kurama Temple, Sōjōbō is either one rank below Maō-son—one third of the holy trinity which is central to the Kurama faith—or is in fact another form of Mao-son.

Legends: Not much is written about Sōjōbō, although his name is well known. The most famous legend about Sōjōbō is that he trained a young boy named Ushiwakamaru. As the king of the tengu, Sōjōbō possesses a knowledge of magic, military tactics, and swordsmanship unsurpassed by any other. The young Ushiwakamaru wished to learn from him, and traveled deep into Sōjōgatani to undergo a long and arduous training. This was a very dangerous quest, as tengu are fierce and unpredictable, and Sōjōbō was rumored to eat children who wandered too deep into the forest. However, Sōjōbō was impressed with the young boy’s bravery and agreed to train him.

Ushiwakamaru grew up to become Minamoto Yoshitsune, who lived from 1159-1189 CE. Yoshitsune remains of Japan’s most celebrated warriors, and is one of the main heroes in the Tale of the Heike. His umatched swordsmanship is credited to the training he received from the tengu of Mount Kurama.

Thunderbird Info

A type of harpy that carries the mighty power of lightning within. They have a ferocious and extreme disposition. Thrill-seekers by nature, they constantly wish to be charged with electricity, and frequently fly in clouds and thunderstorms to gain energy. If they have too much, they may discharge randomly and cause terrible lightning storms.

They have the power to generate magical lightning within their body and discharge it at prey, able to paralyze the body by the sheer magnitude, causing those hit to go into a mental stasis and rendering a person unable to move. They are known to have potent control over the bodies of others through manipulation of electrical currents within, even to the point where they can control the mind of someone. It’s so intense that normal lightning is nothing in comparison.

However, the organ that generates electricity within their body has a fatal flaw. When their emotions swell too much because of arousal, joy, anger or other intense emotions, due to the extremity of their nature, they lose control of their own lightning, causing internal leakage, and they themselves get paralyzed by their own electrical current. This usually occurs during intense discharge, which is able to completely halt everything in their vicinity with the static flow. This organ is also frequently used as a power generator, as it is believed to harness infinite energy. It is believed that this creature also has a connection to the Mega Generator, as they are known to sometimes flock there.

A type of harpy that carries the mighty power of lightning within. They have a ferocious and extreme disposition - most of them are the sort of hedonists that prefer violent sex. When they spot a human man, they will aggressively attack and try to rape him seeking stimulating intercourse and pleasure.

They have the power to generate magical lightning within their body and discharge it at prey. The human body is not harmed by this lightning, but if struck a powerfully intense shocking pleasure rushes through the body, and the body is paralyzed by the magnitude of pleasure, rendering a person unable to move. Also during sex and kissing, electric current that flows in directly from them does more than just cause intense pleasure. During kissing, they can force a man’s erection by running current through his body, and during sex, they can spur a forced ejaculation by running current directly through his genitals from the place where the two are joined. It’s so intense that lightning inside is nothing in comparison. Most men pursued by them will be one-sidedly violated, helpless before their lightning and devilish body.

A current runs through the thunderbird's genitals, making it easy for her to stimulate ejaculation without penetration. However, this individual seems to regret the fact that she did not receive the ejaculate internally.
However, the organ that generates electricity within their body has a major flaw. When their emotions swell too much because of arousal, joy, affection for a man, etc. they lose control of their own lightning, causing internal leakage, and they themselves get paralyzed by their own electrical current.

The leaked current is amplified and activated by the man’s essence pouring inside. For that reason, once they enter a state of leakage, they will go numb with pleasure just from a man’s semen or saliva, which includes essence, touching their skin. Even just a kiss will be enough to cause mind-blowing pleasure.

If they then have essence poured directly into their body, then the current amplified by the essence poured inside will electrify the essence taken in, and they will be attacked from within by relentless pleasure and orgasms. Emotional build-up during the violation of a man, and excessively strong pleasure, etc. often cause leakage, and then they often end up being one-sidedly violated by the man in a complete reversal. And yet, according to them, stimulation is very much welcomed, not just from attacking and violating men, but also from being attacked and violated by men.

As for those who have obtained a husband, the lightning within their body and the pleasure generated by it rapidly grow stronger each time they receive essence from their husband. The increase in pleasure each time from sessions of repeated intercourse is far greater than that of couples of other races. Men who become their husbands will spend the most exciting days with them.

Avisora (Bird) Species List Empty

Firebird

Vermillion Birds are a demi-human subspecies of Harpy who are identified by their red pheasant-like feathers, five-colored plumage and being perpetually covered in flames.

Considered to be one of the four mythical animal tribes of China (alongside the Azure Dragons, the White Tigers, and the Black Turtles), all four of which are kept in balance by the Huang Long race, the Vermillion Birds are elegant and noble in temperament and represent the element of fire, the southern provinces of China and the season of summer.

Suzaku
Suzaku朱雀
すざく

Translation: vermilion bird
Alternate names: sujaku, shujaku, chūchue
Habitat: the southern sky

Appearance: Suzaku is a large, scarlet, phoenix-like bird. His home is in the southern sky. He spans seven of the twenty-eight Chinese constellations, taking up one quarter of the entire sky. The constellation which makes up the left wing of the bird is located in Gemini. The constellation which makes up his head feathers or comb is located in Cancer. The constellations which make up his head, beak, and body are located in Hydra. The constellation which makes up his right wing is located in Hydra and Crater. The constellation which makes up his tail feathers is located in Corvus.

Interactions: Suzaku is one of the shijin, or Four Symbols, which are important mythological figures in Taoism. Suzaku is the guardian of the south. He is associated with the Chinese element of fire, the season of summer, the planet Mars, and the color red. He represents the virtue of propriety. He controls heat and flame. The ancient capitals of Fujiwara-kyō, Heijo-kyō and Heian-kyō were each guarded on the south by a large gate called Suzakumon (Suzaku Gate). Beyond Suzakumon was a wide avenue called Suzaku Boulevard, which served as the main north-south road. In Kyoto, this road ran from the Imperial Palace to the gate at the southern end of the city, Rashōmon. Today, though the gates are long gone, Suzaku Boulevard (now called Senbon Avenue) remains an important road in the city.

Origin: Suzaku and the other shijin were brought to Japan from China in the 7th century CE. They are strongly associated with Taoism, feng shui, astrology, the five element theory, and other forms of Chinese mysticism. Japan’s ancient capitals were built in correspondence to these beliefs, with each of the quadrants of the city dedicated to one of the Four Symbols. Excavations of ancient burial mounds in Nara has revealed paintings of Suzaku and the other shijin on the tomb walls.

In later centuries, belief in astrology waned, and worship of the Four Symbols was gradually supplanted by worship of the Four Heavenly Kings of Buddhism. Their use as symbols, however, continued.

Because they look very similar, Suzaku is often confused with hōō, the Chinese pheonix. The attributes and symbolism of one are sometimes mixed or swapped with each other. Though it has been suggested that they may share a common origin—perhaps going back to the mythical bird Garuda in Indian mythology—there is no strong evidence linking these creatures to each other.

Yatagarasu

*Hazy Crow (Illusion)

Yatagarasu
Kinu八咫烏
やたがらす

Translation: eight-span (i.e. giant) crow
Alternate names: sansokuu (three-legged crow), kin’u (golden crow)
Habitat: the sun
Diet: unknown

Appearance: Yatagarasu is a three-legged which inhabits the sun. It is found across East Asian folklore.

Origin: A three-legged crow has been used as a symbol of the sun since neolithic times in China. It may have originated as a personification of sunspots by ancient astronomers. In Japan, the crow has also been a symbol of the sun since ancient times, appearing in Japan’s earliest written works. It is a holy creature and a servant of the sun goddess, Amaterasu. The name Yatagarasu means “eight span crow.” One “span” was the length between the outstretched thumb and middle finger—roughly 18 centimeters—but this moniker is mainly just a poetic way to say “very large.” Originally Yatagarasu was depicted with two legs, but in the 930’s CE, the Chinese myth of the three-legged crow was merged into the story of Yatagarasu. Since then, Yatagarasu and the three-legged crow have been synonymous with each other.

The three-legged crow has long been used in religious and astrological symbolism across China and Japan, particularly among those involved with sun worship and onmyōdō. The three legs of the bird represent heaven, the earth, and humanity, while the crow itself represents the sun. This symbolizes that heaven, earth, and mankind all come from the same sun, and are like brothers to each other. They are also said to represent the three virtues of the gods: wisdom, benevolence, and valor. The three legs may also represent the three powerful clans of ancient Kumano—Ui, Suzuki, and Enomoto—who use a three-legged crow as their clan crest.

Legends: Yatagarasu is an important figure in the mythical history of Japanese. According to the Kojiki, Japan’s oldest written history, Yatagarasu is an incarnation of the god Kamo Taketsunumi—today enshrined in Kyoto’s Shimogamo Shrine. As Yatagarasu, he led Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan, through the mountains to establish his country.

Jimmu’s clan originated in Kyushu, in present-day Miyazaki Prefecture. He and his brothers led an eastward migration from along the Seto Insland Sea, looking for a better homeland, and subduing the various tribes they encountered along the way. They suffered many hardships. When they reached Naniwa (present-day Osaka), Jimmu’s older brother Itsuse, leader of the expedition, was killed in battle. Jimmu realized that they had lost because they were fighting facing eastwards, fighting against the sun. He led his troops around the Kii peninsula, to Kumano (present-day Mie Prefecture), and began a westward push. His expedition became lost in the mountains of Kumano. Seeing this, Amaterasu, the sun goddess, and Takamimusubi, one of the creator gods, ordered Kamo Taketsunumi to act as a guide to Jimmu. Kamo Taketsunumi took the form of a giant crow, and flew to Jimmu’s side to show him the way. With Yatagarasu leading the way, Jimmu was able to navigate the mountains of Kumano and reach Yamato (in present-day Nara Prefecture), where he would found his capital and become Japan’s first emperor.

According to legend, Jimmu’s great-grandfather Ninigi was the grandson of Amaterasu. Thus, Jimmu, and the entire Japanese imperial line are the direct descendants of the sun goddess. Yatagarasu, as a guide to Jimmu, played a small roll with a very big impact on the future of the imperial dynasty.

the appearance of the great bird is construed as evidence of the will of Heaven or divine intervention in human affairs.

Yatagarasu as a crow-god is a symbol specifically of guidance. This great crow was sent from heaven as a guide for legendary Emperor Jimmu on his initial journey from the region which would become Kumano to what would become Yamato, (Yoshino and then Kashihara). It is generally accepted that Yatagarasu is an incarnation of Taketsunimi no mikoto, but none of the early surviving documentary records are quite so specific.

Although the Yatagarasu is commonly perceived as a three-legged crow, there is in fact no mention of it being such in the original Kojiki. Consequently, it is theorised that this is a result of a later possible misinterpretation during the Heian period that the Yatagarasu and the Chinese Yangwu refer to an identical entity.

A Yatagarasu (八咫烏) is a demihuman liminal species very similar in appearance to Harpies. Possessing crow-like traits, Yatagarasu appear prominently in Japanese mythology as supernatural guides and symbols of divine rebirth and rejuvenation. Known to be the guide of the 1st Japanese Emperor Jimmu when he conquers all of Japan.

Omnivorous, Yatagarasu prefer habitats that have sunlight and demonstrate the same "air-headed" behavior as Harpies. As such, not much is known at precisely how closely related the Harpy race are to the Yatagarasu.

Sun Preference: As a race the Yatagarasu love the sun and sunny days.
Unerring Direction: Yatagarasu have an uncanny sense of direction that is always correct. Even when they don't know, or have forgotten, where they are going, they still instinctually know how to get there.

Avisora (Bird) Species List Empty
PostSubject: Re: Avisora (Bird) Species List   Avisora (Bird) Species List EmptyTue Nov 16, 2021 11:19 am

Garuda

*Eagle

Garuda is described as the king of birds and an eagle-like figure. He is shown either in zoomorphic form (giant bird with partially open wings) or an anthropomorphic form (man with wings and some bird features). Garuda is generally a protector with the power to swiftly go anywhere, ever watchful and an enemy of the serpent.

Garuda (ガルーダ Garūda?) are a large Harpy subspecies prevalent in Hindu mythology. Regarded as a Hindu divinity as the King of all Birds and the mount of the Supreme god Lord Vishnu, Garuda are considered the strongest of the harpy subspecies and are known for their eternal animosity with the Naga serpent race. And Garuda is the symbol of Indonesia.

Serpentine Animosity: Garudas and serpentine species such as Lamia's are aggressive enemies.
High Body Temperature: A Garuda's body temperature is so high that they run the risk of physically burning whatever they are sitting/lying/standing on if they remain in one location for too long.
Advanced Strength: As Garudas are considered the "most powerful" of the harpy species, it would stand to reason that their physical strength and flight power are above the other harpy subspecies.
Flight: As a Garuda, Bima's wings allow her to fly.

Attacks
Firaga: A level 3 spell. A huge explosion of fire that will incinerate everything in its way.

Aerial Slash: Flaps wings and releases wind that will cut through everything and take down everything in its way.

Stop: A powerful black magic that will instantaneously stop the foe's space and time around them, leaving them motionless if they are hit with it.

Maelstrom: A powerful explosion of wind that will swirl around the foe and suck out their life, reducing it to a veeeeery low health.

Weakness: Wind, Dark/Shadow.

Immunities: Earth [of all kinds], Silence, Confusion, Berserk, Vanish.

Blue Magic Learned: White Wind.

Item Dropped: Ore, Ether.

Additional Info: Holy element does half damage to it.

Raven/Crow Info

One of the most intelligent Harpy types, and also the most solitary. They tend to band together only with only each other, known as a 'Murder.' There are often sightings of giant black clouds blotting out the sun and filling the sky, and villages going missing. This is what happens when these creatures are angered.

Their jet-black wings are slender and sleek, and allow for very swift and relatively silent flight, as well as coverage in the night, which they are most active. They are very vicious when you come too close to one, and are best to be left alone and kept a distance from. They have a liking for shiny things and can spot something shiny from a mile away with their keen vision. If they target you, they will viciously and mercilessly rob you of all your possessions, and if they are really angry, they may swoop you up and leave you somewhere dark and unknown. For their bad temperament, most people just choose to never go anywhere they find even one nesting at.

Though these beings are solitary, they have a strong sense of community for the other Black Harpies or Tengus and if one is attacked, there is a chance that the entire Murder will find them and help out. This makes them very hard to combat, unless one is prepared to fight a flock of angry Ravens and Crows.

Like most other Harpies, they are masters of their own elements and use them to their will to torment those that have wandered too close to their nesting grounds, most commonly stealing light from their paths and trapping them in perpetual darkness, roaming the lands until the target has starved to death or gone mad. Like other harpies, they are also gifted in the art of song and sound, and are able to steal voices from travelers and release dark and foreboding cries to hamper their spirits.

Their talons are made out of a special material similar to Obsidian, and is a prized material for making very powerful weapons.

A race of harpies that have charming onyx wings. Although they are a clever race, particularly having the highest intelligence of all harpies, on the other hand, they are exceedingly belligerent and ferocious. It's even said that they attack humans, robbing food, as well as precious metals, gemstones, and the like, which they have a penchant for.

They cast murderous looks at enemies, but they show such soft smiles to their husband and daughters.
Unlike harpies, they'll aggressively abduct and violate human men even when it's not their breeding season. When hunting, they aren’t merely driven by the urges of breeding season, instead attacks are calculated in a cunning and meticulous manner. Word has it that sometimes they even flock together and attack groups of men.

They are extremely lustful towards their mate and become obsessed with him. After bringing a man back to their nest, they spend their time nestled closely, making love, and they enjoy aggressively copulating. Due to their strong temperament and aggressive nature, intercourse is furious and they usually take the lead most of the time, but on the other hand, contrary to harpies, they lose their ferocity when it becomes breeding season, and their usual boldness then dies down.

When breeding season visits, their mind and body are dominated by the uterine urge to seek a male and get pregnant, and the sense of pleasure and fulfillment that they experience during copulation is amplified by leaps and bounds to the point that they can no longer maintain their composure while enjoying it as they usually do. They’ll start fawning on the male in pursuit of the joy of a female and beg for intercourse.

Black harpies have a strong sense of camaraderie, but on the other hand, they are exceedingly wary of those who aren't friends. They threaten those who approach their nests in an intimidating manner. And if one of their friends is harmed, a flock of black harpies will rush the foreign enemy all at once. They treat their mates and children with especially great care, and if someone were to harm their precious family, at that very moment, that someone would be making an enemy of all the black harpies. If looks could kill, then the sharp looks that would be coming from their countless pairs of shining eyes would do it, and a black swarm vicious to the point of ruthlessness would engulf the enemy.

On the other hand, they genuinely smile sweetly and lovingly at their family, and express affection by gently wrapping them in their soft black-feathered wings.

A type of Harpy that only inhabits the Zipangu Region, Out of all the harpies, they're the race with the mightiest power. they can fly around the sky at high speed and use skills similar to magic called "shinzuuriki." A race called "Daitengu" that is a higher rank variety of crow tengu exists, it is said that nearly all of them serve Daitengu.

They normally seclude themselves in the mountains and train their shinzuuriki, they rarely ever show themselves in front of humans. However, it's just that humans also don't notice them, it is said that they often come down to human settlements to menace villains and to investigate and record the deeds of humans, along with human bloodlines, etc.

They're intellectual for a member of the harpy family, but being monsters their number one interest is, of course, human men, most of their investigation and records are likely to end up being mostly about human men that they've taken a liking to.

Just like other members of the harpy family, they have a mating season and when the time comes, they descend to human settlements and take away human men. On this occasion, they use the contents of the previously mentioned investigations of humans to prudently select the man they're definitely going to kidnap. For that reason, people that they hate, such as villains and those who normally speak ill of them, are much less likely to be kidnapped than good people. We can probably almost say they're safe.

The kidnapped men will exchange couple's vows with them in their dwelling and end up having sex with them on the spot for the sake of procreation. They're hardworking and along with their shinzuuriki training, they also thoroughly study the ways of pleasing men.

Most men who have sex with them will become enthralled by them after being thoroughly serviced, due to their intimate knowledge of a man's weak points based on the contents of their investigations, then they'll end up living together.

They have confidence in their own power and most of them are full of pride. Since they can be hard to please for that reason, it's probably best to avoid provoking them as much as possible, should one happen to encounter one of them by chance. But on the other hand, since they normally train in the mountains and hardly have any involvement with the wider world, many of them have never had the experience of conversing with men, other than their fathers, so there's another side to them.

For instance, if a man excessively directs fondness towards them, they might just lose their composure and panic. If one were to say something like "Let's get married," they'd turn bright red with alarm, which would result in them entrusting their thoughts to the monster's instinct and one would end up being attacked, to end up having sex with them.

Valravn

Valravns are shapeshifters associated with darkness, death, war, and fate. They frequently take on the form of ravens and occasionally a humanoid form, but their most well known form is a monstrous hybrid of a raven and a wolf. They are the descendants of valkyries and wargs, a very rare union.

They are most likely to be found on Svartalfheim or Nidavellir. They are practically never seen on Alfheim, due to the fact that the light magic that permeates the realm is in direct opposition to their dark nature. On any realm they are found, they frequent battlefields, where they consume hearts of the dead.

Valravns are ruthless, known to cause wars simply for their own amusement, then leisurely feast on the fallen afterwards. Worse, they are incredibly difficult to kill and can come back from the dead even if they are ripped to pieces. For these reasons they are almost universally hated.

Avisora (Bird) Species List Cockat10

Species: Avian, Harpy
Type: Aerial, Bird, Hybrid
Elemental Affiliation: Wind, Earth
Combat Specialty: Physical, Aerial
Sociability: Easily Aggravated
Threat Level: Low (If prepared), High (If ill-prepared)
Habitats: Grand Forge Peak

Immunities: Petrification, Invisibility/Intangibility, Respective Elements, Time, Charm, Confusion, Sleep.
Items Dropped: Cockatrice Eye, Cockatrice gg
Additional Info: Absorbs Wind element.
Masters of songs, sounds and vibrations.
Masters of Wind and Earth
Known to be tricksters that steal the voices of travelers and petrify them.
Blood and Eggs are said to be a cure-all.

Weapons
Beak - Razor sharp, axe-like beak that it uses as a knife or drill to bite, slash, peck and stab its target. Its beak is known to have enough power to easily slice through solid rock, and pierce through thick bedrock with its pecks.

Talons - Claws as sharp as swords, able to rend bone and flesh with ease. They are long and as hard as steel, hooked so that whatever is latched onto cannot escape their grasp.

Featherbombs - Special feathers that ignite and explode when detached from their bodies automatically. Because of this, however, this makes them weak to the Fire element., and prone to explode when touched with flames.

Cleansing Blood - The natural purifying circulatory system within the Cockatrice begins to cleanse its entire body of any impurities completely. This same property is said to come from their eggs, making them sorts of 'panaceas.'

Territorial Marking - Secretes a special toxin from its body completely harmless to those of its species, however to an other, it is a special poison that seeps into the surface of whatever it touches and deep into their beings. The only way to know if it is within something is through an odd, foul odor.

Natural Abilities
Evil Eye: A powerful ability known to do a variety of things from hypnotizing its foes, turning things to stone with its gaze, or even killing them with just a glance. The effects of its eyes are depicted by the color of its glow (Red, Black, Yellow or Green), and these effects work even after death. It can release pulses from its eyes that cause those within to suffer gradual sleep, petrification or death, which gives time to kill the Cockatrice before the effects set in, however whomever is unlucky enough to catch a glimpse of its glowing eyes will suffer, unable to be awoken or unpetrified until the Cockatrice is killed or harmed in some way. Though, if you die from it's gaze, then you're dead. (Poison, Paralysis, Death/Doom, Petrification)

Salivation: Sticky saliva imbued with a powerful numbing toxin that not only unnaturally adhesive and holds what it is stuck to in place, but causes the body part it is attached to become completely and utterly useless until the saliva is removed. (Disable, Immobilize)

Devil Breath: Generates from its bowels a powerful gas that both poisons and gradually petrifies those who breathe in or are exposed to this horrible gas. Those who breathe it in are petrified instantly, and those who do not are petrified gradually. It is also said that if mad enough, this gas becomes utterly deadly, and if breathed in, kills on contact, though if not breathed, will gradually erase the foe's life force. (Poison, Petrification, Doom/Death)

Early Bird's Call: A cheery and loud series of clucks with a special revitalizing power. Whomever these powerful, concentrated sound waves are aimed at will instantly charge the body and soul, waking the target up from even a coma, and/or giving them the strength to fight instantly. (Quicken)

Scurry Rush: When scared or startled, it scurries and flails around wildly, sending a lot of adrenaline pumping into its body. It then uses that adrenaline to run around as max speed to avoid capture and avoid being attacked. (Haste)

Fluster Ruffle: Ruffles up feathers and throws itself into a blind rage when it feels threatened enough, going completely Berserk. It then attacks anything and everything uncontrollably. (Berserk)

Fluster Gust: Ruffles up feathers and flaps wings powerfully, scattering the feathers in powerful, sharp gusts of wind, which the Cockatrice is able to control. Their feathers are just as sharp as the wind blades carrying them.

Fluster Rush: By working itself up, it pumps a great deal of adrenaline within itself, sending itself into a controlled fury, causing it to maintain maximum speed and power. With its powerful cries, it may also inspire its allies to increase their speed and power triple the original amount, as well. (Haste)

Dive Peck: Flies into the air and zooms down at a high speed with a high power and pecks everything in its way, destroying it with its powerful beak.

General Cockatrice Info

The cousin of the Basilisk, being more bird than serpent, unlike its cousin, which is vice versa. The legend of the Cockatrice is that "when a Cocke groweth old, he layeth a certaine egge without any shell, instead whereof it is covered with a very thicke skinne, which is able to withstand the greatest force of an easie blow or fall. They saye, moreover, that this egge is layd onely in the Summer time, about the beginning of the Dogge-dayes (between early July and early September), being not so long as a Hens Egge, but round and orbiculer:...sometimes of a yellowish muddy color... and afterward sat upon by a Snake or Toad, bringeth forth the Cockatrice, being halfe a foot in length, the hinder part like a snake, the former part like a Cocke, because of a treble comb on his forehead."
Caught between the transition of lizard ancestry to bird, it never fully evolved into a complete foul, and as such, it harbors special powers that many birds today have lost due to their evolution.

Its cheerfully appearance belies a violent nature, and its beak is as sharp as any fine weapon of steel. Generally feeding upon smaller creatures, they have also been known to gather in packs for the hunting of larger prey. Though they rarely take flight, they do still have the ability and will definitely do so if they deem it necessary, though they are more prominent in movement on the solid earth. Though their beaks are their most formidable and used weapon, they have strong, sharp talons on their feet and wings to pierce and climb, as well as claw and scratch. Despite their appearance, their hide is tough and thick, giving even the sharpest of bladed weapons a tough time against them.

As most birds are, Cockatrices love shiny things, going into a 'glitterlust' frenzy whenever they find something that shines brightly in the light. Once they see it, they will do whatever it takes to get it, even abandon their timid nature.

Lo, the mighty cockatrice, proud-feathered, known as much for its ill humor. Subsist they principally on small creatures and vermin, for the incapacitation of which they disgorge a sticky saliva, thence devouring captured morsels only when appetite moves them.' Swollen sacs containing airs are found under the surface of the skin, and when inflated, these lifting the creature upon drafts unseen, whence to espy suitable prey.

Being a variety of cockatrice living in the thickest of forests. They are feathered green overall, though here and there are feathers of the most spectacular coloration, providing camouflages against the brightly colored woodland flowers. Though their winged forelimbs are rather undeveloped, using the floatsacs beneath their skin and the rising forest vapors they are able to hover about the canopy, make their nest, evade predators and spot prey."

"Being the Fledgling of the Cockatrice, named Chickatrice until fully grown, possessing a steel-like beak and voracious Appetite from the Day it hatches.

While they have wings for flight, they do not stay airborne often, as they prefer the earth more than they do the skies. They are much more stable on the ground and much swifter, as well, only using their flight as means of escape when land is futile. As such, they have powerful legs to scurry quite swiftly across the ground. A Cockatrice emits pheromones that draw in their unwary prey, and when they get close, they will petrify, paralyze or kill them with their gaze.

NOTE: Fae Counterpart is also called a 'Cockatrice'.

Siren Info
Believes to be sprites of the water often conffused with the Mermaids for their beautiful and hypnotic voices, Sirens are actually Harpies that are also Sylphs, able to swim underwater. Because of the formation of their wings underwater, which resemble fins, those who don't get a good look at them figure them to be Mermaids.

They are the Harpies with the most beautiful singing voices, and all the men who hear it are entranced by it, moving to the will of the Sirens as long as they can hear it. Most Sirens live near the water, way off in the middle of the sea atop large rocks that the Scylla live under or on remote islands. They not only have the ability to lure in human men, but men of all species, thus making them that much more of a threat for their superior vocal manipulation. Normally, they sing all the time, very rarely ever speaking normally. Though they know their power, they naturally love to sing and thus simply enjoy doing it.

A type of Harpy with a beautiful singing voice that absolutely loves singing. Their songs are infused with a lot of magical energy, and men who hear them become entranced by it and end up moving in the direction that they hear the song coming from. Most sirens live near the ocean, and due to this many ships have disappeared mid-voyage, never-to-return, after the men aboard were lured by their songs. Thus sailors are very fearful of them.

At the retirement concert of an enormously popular siren, she had her husband thrust into her from behind while mixing in moans and gasps as she sang, causing the hundreds of couples gathered to all have sex. It was said to be the greatest concert in monster history.
They choose their prey from among the men who were drawn to them by their songs, but in this case, they aren't the only threats. Most of the time, all kinds of monsters who are after the men are lurking nearby. Once the songs have ended, the men who were entranced by the songs will be attacked all at once, and will probably end up being taken away.

When they spot a man that strikes their fancy, they create a "special song" specifically for that man that they will sing only for him. This "special song" will be infused with far more demonic energy than their ordinary songs, and upon hearing it the man will become powerfully attracted to them and be entranced. He will then seek them out, and have sex with them. Every time a man hears this "special song" his resistance to the song is further decreased. and the effect of the song will grow even more powerful. The more a man listens to the song, the greater the intensity of their sex.

When having sex with them, the gasping and moaning of their voice sounds almost like a song. This lewd song of course has the effect of causing powerful arousal in men. Men who listen to the song will then desire them more deeply and roughly, and then the song will also continue to build up and grow into something even more radical.

They sing a great deal normally, but when they come into heat they sing even more frequently. There’s no doubt about it, because more and more ships disappear mid-voyage during these periods than at other times. Sirens with husbands keep singing the “special song” to their husbands, so their husbands will always continue to lust for them.

Their songs are tremendously popular with monsters and monster couples not just because of their beauty, but also because of the effects. Many come and visit to hear them sing. They can make their singing voice resound through an entire venue with a song that arouses everyone. Monster couples can enjoy sex that's more intense than usual, and single human men and monsters are thrown into a lustful frenzy who will also be joined together openly, and they'll have sex right on the spot. Then the venue will become filled with a huge chorus of the moaning and gasping voices of many monsters.

CawCaw

An aggressive bird that is very territorial, though it is very small. Its plumage resembles fire, like its temperament, and it is known to both attack in groups and also relentlessly defend its territory until the intruder is expelled. Their wings are developed for flight, but its feet are underdeveloped, so it only uses them to land or perch, and not for any other reason. It is typically found in flight a majority of the time, and even executes patrols over its land.

Aosagibi
青鷺火
あおさぎび

Translation: blue heron fire
Alternate names: goi no hikari (“night heron light”)
Habitat: rivers, wetlands; wherever herons and other waterbirds can be found

Appearance: When they reach an advanced age, many types of birds transform into magical yōkai with eerie powers. Aosagibi is the name for a bizarre phenomenon caused by transformed herons—particularly the black-crowned night heron. Found all along the islands and coasts, this heron prefers remote areas with heavy reeds and thick woods. Though aosagibi is most commonly attributed to this particular bird, other herons and wild birds such as ducks and pheasants are able to develop this manifestation. Aosagibi is most commonly seen at night, either in the trees where the herons roost, by the rivers where they hunt, or in the twilight sky as birds fly overhead.

Behavior: Long-lived herons develop shining scales on their breasts, which fuse together from their feathers. With each breath, they blow a yellow iridescent powder from their beaks that scatters into the wind. During the autumn nights, their bodies radiate a bluish-white glow. Their powdery breath ignites into bright blue fireballs, which they blow across the water or high in the trees. These fireballs possess no heat and do not ignite what they touch, but eventually evaporate in the wind.

Interactions: Like most wild birds, night herons are shy and flee from humans. Even after transforming into yōkai, they retain their shyness. While the sight of a colony of wild birds breathing blue flames and making strange calls on a cool autumn night can be rather disconcerting, aosagibi does not post any threat. However, because their fireball breath appears similar to other phenomena, caution should be taken to avoid confusing aosagibi with onibi or other supernatural lights.
