A Humble Spar

The sky was dark over the crystalline grass, which shimmered the same color as the sky. The stars glistened and glimmered in a similar fashion as each of the translucent blades did. One of the Tensei Moons hung high in the sky over the Battleground fields, giving it a certain glow that also illuminated the crystalized lands.

Stepping into the empty field, grass crunching under his black boots like normal blades of grass was Overlord Tensei, who happened to want to go for a stroll in the Battlegrounds. His signature black jacket fluttered in the wind and exposed his midsection, only so that a soul belt-buckle could be seen holding up his pitch black pants. His blue hair poured over one side of his face, covering one eye, with the other casually looking from over the collar of his jacket to inspect the area as he walked.

*Sigh*

From out of the world of Data came Orange, a rather smart looking woman with tech to match; she sighed heavily since she just felt like this was going to be a long day and she didn't like long days since she would've rather spent it sleeping after all the other mess that happened a while ago. Once she stepped into the battlefield she noticed the rather random man that was there, she was sure that she knew who he was but didn't exactly know. However, she did know that he was strong just based off of his looks and that this was going to be a long one.

"Let's just skip the formalities and start so I can go back to sleep. I'd rather end this as quickly as possible."

She wasn't going to spend time talking so she fired up her trusty bow and arrow and fire off a volley of arrows, none of them were special by any means.

Overlord Tensei, whilst in a state of total deactivation, did not notice someone approach him. Whilst in this state, he seemed rather tired and lackluster, looking like nothing more than a normal man. His hair glistened like starlight as he turned swiftly to meet the eye of the person who had come upon him, ready to greet them.

"Hello there--"

Before any formalities were made, as stated, there was a shot from arrows that were aimed at Overlord Tensei. "Woah," he cried, ducking the spray of arrows and rolling for cover out of their vicinity. "You sure like to get to the point." Overlord Tensei rubbed the back of his head, saying, "Well, I guess this IS the battlefield after all..." He laughed to himself a bit and then nodded his head more seriously.

"I admire you coming here for a fight," he went on, curling his fingers in his hand and drawing power into them. "Everywhere I've been, I've been rejected," he went on, the arrows that were launched raising up into the air, "But here, I am not rejected. Even if my world is rejected, I'm glad that you've come for a visit!" That's why Overlord Tensei figured this spar would be epic and cool.

With each of the arrows under Overlord Tensei's control, he hurled one after the next with a flick of his finger in whatever direction toward the newcomer, and then some that were farther away from them both. They were charged with some of his energy now and he could maneuver them as he saw fit. Some of them dug into the ground whilst others just remained planted where they were, spread out over the field.

"There goes my arrows."

Orange sighed again since she only had a small number of arrows anyway and losing the ones she shot was a real pain, so she thought of another plan and that was to avoid the arrows coming at her while firing off another volley of arrows and once she did that she was out of arrows. She really didn't have any way to fight since she couldn't recall what her powers were, she knew what they did but in this case it was a waste of time since the person she was fighting wouldn't allow her to do what her powers allowed her to do since she was sure that he had absolute control over his everything.

"I hate my life right now. I'm out of arrows, I'm sure the other arrows that were shot out are going to come back and bite me in the ass and what's more, I can't even remember what other powers I had since my main one is useless."

Orange sighed again, she was outta options before she even had any to pick from, she was far too rusty to fight hand to hand and now that she was out of arrows she was pretty much doomed; so she did what anyone would do in her situation and ran for cover behind some rocks.

"Game over for me. Ugh, this is what happens when you fall off and are locked out of damn near everything. It's whatever, I don't care."

She just sat there for a moment before laying her head on the rock and just waiting for the next move since she was already out.

Overlord Tensei blinked. Now, he was a very powerful man, but he was not an inconsiderate nor incapable of compassion. This woman seemed to be giving up before even trying and there was nothing else to it. The realm of the Veritas seemed to overwhelm her and at the end of the day, it was only because she knew that Overlord Tensei was actually part of the universe, itself.

Fortunately for her, that didn't matter.

"Hey," Overlord Tensei would call out, withdrawing one of her arrows with a flick of his wrist and point of his finger to have it pierce through the other oncoming arrows with augmented strength, "Don't even worry about things like that." He smiled, waving his hand and repairing the arrows that were just broken and lost. "I don't want to give you too much of a handicap, but remember this is just a spar! Something to test out our abilities." Maybe she did not know that, considering that she was knew here and also wasn't aware of how the areas were set up. "I'm not here to kill or seriously injure you at all."

"Beyond that, your powers are totally acceptable here. I pretty much accept anyone's powers as long as they understand I have greater powers as well." He smirked a bit and snickered to himself, thinking about how much fun galactic battles were. Overlord Tensei continued forward to see how the newcomer was doing on her rock. "The Veritas is an open space, so you can draw your own power from your own planet or your own god or your own entity or energy or whatever you do and as long as it can reach you here in the Veritas, it's alright here. The Veritas is an open dimension, not a closed dimension, with a universe that is just as expansive." Overlord Tensei kept a warm smile on his face, though it was covered by his coat collar. His nearly dimmed eye gazed deeply at the woman and shimmered crystal blue as he said, "You just do you and I'll do me."

"Easy to say, but hard to carry out. I can't use any of my powers because I don't remember them at all and the one I do have won't work with you or anyone here for that matter aside from the weak people that I can name on one hand. I mean when your power is like mine you're put on a losing board depending on whom you're fighting truth be told. I don't have any outside forces to draw from or anything like that, I'm normal and basic and I'm rusty with my fighting so really this isn't going to be fun at all."

Orange just banged her head on the rock, she might as well give this fight whatever she had since she was here, so she finally stood up and dusted herself off. She didn't know what to do so she just did what any weak person would do and that was pulling out a knife and going for the throat; while it may have been a cheap shot she had to take whatever chances she had since this was basically all she could think of at the moment.

There was a gleam like the moon's light in Overlord Tensei's eye as he saw the edge of the blade whipped out by the young lady. He was not exactly pleased with how she thought about things, but knew that being in the Veritas was something that was overwhelming to a degree. Still, he couldn't help but think that she didn't even try.

Dodging rather casually when the blade was pulled, he rolled across her arm and toward her back, whispering to her, "Then make something up using what you have," before pushing off of her back and starting to walk away from her. When Overlord Tensei was a good enough distance away from the woman, he would turn back around and observe her a bit more, wondering why she was so concerned about things like this. "If you do your best with what you have, you will have fun," Overlord Tensei stated. "I came here to have fun, not to win a fight. I was hoping that you would have some fun, too."

Overlord Tensei shrugged his shoulders and lowered his head, looking rather crestfallen by the thoughts and feelings of the young lady. There were so many options for her, and yet she didn't seem to want to take any of them without even hearing them. "You know..." he almost didn't want to actually give her the options because of how she was sulking, but it might help her. "... You can use some of the power of the Veritas, itself, if you don't have any. You can also wish for powers here, too. You can learn new powers and skills and abilities from classes or just randomly fighting creatures and such, as well, if you're interested in those things." There was a vast array of how she could acquire power.

"Beyond that..." Overlord Tensei muttered, "... I can also help you with your memory trouble, which should give you whatever powers you had forgotten." That was also an option.

Suddenly, Overlord Tensei smiled sort of goofily and laughed lightly, dryly to himself, saying, "Orrrrr... Make something up using what you have." He shrugged. "I don't care if you make up powers. That's what the Veritas is for."

"That's nice and all but I can't just make up powers, I mean if you can do that then that's awesome but I don't have any power like that so its impossible. Fun you say? That's funny but I won't even get into that right now and I'm using what I have currently which isn't much."

Orange shook her head as she pulled out a small bottle and poured what was inside the battle onto the blade before putting the bottle back and pulling out a few small orb shaped objects. I don't want to draw from anything since that would just mean that my power wouldn't be mine and would ultimately kill me so I'll pass and I'm fine with what I have even if it's acting up on me when I need it." She tossed the orb objects outward and once they hit the ground the exploded creating a huge cloud of black mist, the mist itself was poison and that's why she pulled her mask up over her face.

"My forgotten powers aren't important since the one I already have is good enough, its just a little hard to deal with and pull off since the conditions aren't yet meet."

She said while vanishing into the poison cloud that covered the area and from within it she launched the same knife she coated out towards the man. "You see people like me are what you call the 99% and that's all there is to it."

Overlord Tensei was actually flabbergasted about how this person thought of the Veritas, when it was supposed to be a land of free energy especially and specifically for this type of purpose, not seen as a hostile environment... at least, not everywhere. "Maybe you just have had a bad experience," Overlord Tensei would say as he watched Orange prepare herself. The black cloud of smoke he saw was nostalgic for him, considering what he had been through in the past with the poison expert, Kaerei, who was now the Veritas as a planet.

"Still, I think I can give you a better one, since I'm actually the Overlord of the Veritas -- one of the highest powers there is." It was actually a great honor for the Overlord, himself to come and greet anyone, but in his eyes, he just liked to meet people and see what they were like. Social interaction was good for him since he was a rather reclusive child and as and adolescent, he didn't actually get along very well with people when it came to socializing. Now, as an adult, he was much more curious about it, and it was fascinating to see how he interacted and how others interacted with them... Even if he still loved his own personal space and Solitary Alone Time.

Overlord Tensei extended his hand and let his jacket flare outward, and it began to sparkle and glitter like the night sky, even becoming transparent at the edges. "I don't know why you don't think you cannot make up powers. You're totally free to do it here if you like." Overlord Tensei shrouded himself suddenly in his 'Cosmicape,' which would keep him from harm like a shield. He could see through its transparency, but the diluted visibility from the exterior did not allow him to be seen -- only the image of the night sky where he was standing, the robe glittering like the twinkling stars in the sky.

There was a sharp moment where the knife was slung at Overlord Tensei and only his Cosmicape was there to protect him. He swashed it outward with great strength, slinging it outward with enough force to both knock the knife away and to wrap it in the cloak. He flicked the wrapped up portion of the cloak toward the ground and shot out the knife to the ground, and the Cosmicape that was once surrounding him would return to being a normal black jacket.

"Interesting..." Overlord Tensei noted, finding an interest in the fighting style of Orange. He wanted to see more and perhaps help her to acquire new abilities during this spar... As well as test his own out a little bit.
