Chocobocalypse; The Reunion

The first thing that occurred the very moment the rain finished pouring down on the ruined Midgar (just after Advent Children) and the Geostigma was cured, the residents would find that it was filled with the perfected Jenova Cell, which would cause the Geostigma to be able to adapt to the necessary growth process as each human was naturally accustomed to in their bodily times, returning 'Mother Nature' to her place in Midgar. From the rainfall, much agriculture would begin to bloom rapidly, as thanks of the Geostigma that now caused everything to grow as it should. This would complete 'The Reunion,' which was simply The Earth being reunited with the Children. Each of them would become unified to the Earth through Jenova, and she would be their Mother Nature, as she was attempting to be in the first case. From there, mankind would be accessible to having the powers of the Final Fantasy Universe (something like a l'Cie, which Jenova should be treated as a fal'Cie). In that moment, Jenova's Rain should have moved over to the East, near the fields and the wasteland, which needed the most attention after Midgar. This specific rain would pass over the entire planet without ceasing.

The very moment Jenova was on the move, Sephiroth would be at her head, directly where the rain stopped falling on the land. She was a very large and powerful force, a beautiful specimen, and therefore would be able to influence a large area all at once, which Sephiroth and Tensei did need to cross in order to reach the nearest Chocobo Farm from Midgar. Fortunately, Sephiroth was far swift enough to get this accomplished in the most organized and efficient manner, only even stopping here as a touchdown marker for Tensei to follow. After images of Sephiroth would be left all through Midgar up to the head of the rain, where Sephiroth would only appear for a brief moment before flickering off again in the direction of the Chocobo Farms. "Let's hope he gets my little invitation..." Sephiroth also knew what it meant if Jenova had awakened in this world; it also meant that she was working in the other worlds, as well. Part of the True Reunion, of course; all that shared any sort of connection to Jenova through she, herself or Sephiroth were already primary targets for it, and Tensei must have been one of them "Otherwise..." By the time Sephiroth had taken off, he was already at the predetermined destination long before Jenova got there, even if no one saw it happen, waiting for Tensei in an inconspicuous spot where no one would see them stop.

When Sephiroth called out 'Godspeed,' Tensei would flicker out in tandem with Sephiroth, not only matching each of his steps as he took them, but also immediately after he took them, as if tracing them the very moment they touched and left the ground. Tensei would then end up meeting up exactly where Sephiroth was located immediately, no matter where he'd gone to at what time.


"Challenge Accepted" would be the words in Sephiroth's ear as the bird suddenly fell silent and gathered the entire message as soon as it left Sephiroth's lips, thus causing anything that occurred after this to be simply for show of their afterimages. They were in a hurry, after all, and their real bodies could remain. Whatever could be seen would be left behind them after the both of them departed the area at the same speed.

Sephiroth opened his eyes to him being met with Tensei immediately as he took back off toward the Chocobo Farm. "... I didn't expect you to be so swift," his flickering image, beginning the replay of the events that occurred within that timespan of their movement, "... Though, I can't imagine why. Must just still be used to that dark Cloud hanging over my head..." Their sibling rivalry was something different, most definitely. Sephiroth was usually the one leading people and having them forever following him in his shadow. He was so far above them all, even he had become a shadow of an existence to them; nearly unfathomable. Far too mysterious to piece together on your own with just physical contact alone, and barely around enough for even that, in the first place. Though his darkness was his own to carry, he was having trouble getting used to stepping toward the light again; that which was always ahead of him.

"I suppose I don't have to look back at bad memories and dark shadows anymore, hm...?" The traces of his feet sporadically touching the ground and kicking up dust, as well as suddenly completely disappearing would flicker about the wastelands. "Truthfully, I had an entire buildup battle planned to ease you into this, but it's clear that you waste no time..." Sephiroth was going to engage Tensei further in Sector 5, but he'd already gotten the message technically and there was no real way for Sephiroth to alter or ignore it. There was going to be an afterimage puzzle, but now Tensei was right here before him, having solved the puzzle as it was being issued by following Sephiroth's every step and movement exactly as they occurred, they would just get straight into Sephiroth's challenge, itself. "... So then, about this bout...?" he called forth his Masamune, steady and at the ready.

One swipe of Sephiroth's sword would cause the 'Transience' that Tensei had seen to strike at him multiple times after Masamune even graced his presence with its appearance. Even before he noticed, it was at work. "You're on." Sephiroth was no fool. He knew that this also meant that Tensei would be limited to using the powers of this realm and not his own as often due to the disturbance it may cause to be used at such an intensity. Perhaps, he might, yet if it caused any sort of further damage to the planet or called forth any of the Souls or Life Energy of this planet, then it would cause the spread of it to speed up drastically to their speed of motion. That meant that they were only allowed to use their own energy that they had right then and there and couldn't charge for anymore. Though, Sephiroth didn't look worried. Fortunately, during his transformation and the break of the alternate reality, he was healed of his burnt skin. He was also still upset about that, as well... But it was nice to have a taste of the flames of hell as punishment. That's exactly what he wanted.

"Is that so...?" said Sephiroth, who would be right beside Tensei after he had seen that the after image had been destroyed and located Tensei's real body, "... Thanks for letting me know..." With eight swift and precise strikes, all nearly simultaneously and in a manner that would create an octogon of Sephiroths around Tensei seemingly hovering in midair, and each would aim to strike him in eight different ways to complete his 'Octoslash' and prevent escape as best as possible whilst also securing Tensei's inability to do so by slashing at him in 8 separate fashions. Each would be to whatever the first 8 actions of Tensei were going to be.

Sephiroth winced as the power of this man's mind invaded his and brought him clarity rather than destruction, which ended up being detrimental to him. He then immediately realized how he was going to be countered and decided that it wouldn't be good to directly strike him or let him know that he would be struck, nor even to look into it. Attempting to hit him was... surprisingly difficult. But not impossible, certainly... Sephiroth hadn't quite gotten a clean and clear hit off of him yet and he was determined to definitely do that. "You do well in the light..." Sephiroth said as his body started to fade away in random places, slowly flickering out one by one, "... But let's see how well you do in the dark..." The last thing that would fade away would be these words, followed by his gleaming eyes, "Now fall... Into the shadows..." Then, Sephiroth's image would no longer be able to be traced.

Whilst Jenova passed over the Midgar Wastelands, the rain of her reign would splash over the dry and desolate land that had grown dead due to the lack of care by the humans that were supposed to be tending to it, as by design. Instead, because they had focused more on advancing their technology noninclusive to the survival of nature (for some reason or another that is not completely clear), they had actually taken away from the land and from themselves, which led to the crisis in the first place. Eventually, Cloud would return to the City and to Tifa and complete whatever task he was doing after believing he'd slain and seen Sephiroth for the last time and that the Geostigma was cured. Once again, Sephiroth, for the greater good, had to be left in Cloud's shadow as the hero. Yet, for his deeds, he would always be a Legend.

The grass grew fresh and green, filled with vividness and color more swiftly than one would expect any vegetation to be able to grow. It would be like flipping a picture book and watching the animated frames sped up to match the trail of both Sephiroth and Tensei's feet, as both of them carried Jenova cells inside of them, regardless of where Tensei was from and what they were called in another universe. There were many universal forces that had touched other beings on other planets that could connect to themselves in other worlds independent of the knowledge of the beings on the planet. Jenova, herself, happened to be one of them. Her reassembly at the 'Reunion' was something that spanned out far greater than perhaps even Sephiroth himself had foreseen. She was grabbing pieces of herself from everywhere she'd sent or infected with the Jenova cells. Each planet called it something different, but it was all the same, and was supposed to be something like a natural injection that would help the planet grow more swiftly when they'd reached a certain age. Unfortunately, many realms liked to avoid their shots. Even so, with the coming of Tensei and reawakening of Sephiroth once more, Jenova would spread just as swiftly as their afterimages moved, ensuring not only to get the land where they stepped, but also in random other places as her influence swept over the land and brought back agriculture. Midgar would be left overrun with nature as Jenova spread outward toward the rest of the planet as the rain from Aerith.

The very moment that it was noticed that the trail of Jenova's rain moved as swiftly as he, Sephiroth would stop and look for where the areas of change were uneven between wasteland and agriculture. Wherever there was a misalignment, a wave of 'Fervent Blows' would be released as a furious barrage, tracing the dividing line that, no matter what, Tensei should have been on in any case, if Jenova's trail were also moving as fast as he was. That should have sufficiently trim the hedges a bit, and possibly kept Jenova's movement from following their actual bodies too swiftly. It would be like projecting one's energy in a different place whilst the main body is elsewhere, having none of the energy that was being projected.

The very ripples in the water would be immediately followed by the tail end of 'Oblivion,' which would trace the ripples to the location of what created them. Upon any form of contact, Sephiroth would appear again, exposing Tensei immediately with a certain-hit slash that would cause the ocean to part around them, further pointing out he and the area he was in. This would give Tensei nowhere to run, should he be located by Sephiroth at any given time, wherever he was.

"Clever..." Sephiroth would say the moment their blades clashed, "... But you cannot run from me..." Immediately as Tensei took off again into the water, Sephiroth would grip both hands on the handle of his blade and charge forward at a high speed with 'Heaven's Light,' leaving only a trail of shining astral light parting every current behind Tensei, himself, following every trace of him that there was the moment he hit the face of the falling waters. "... Your own techniques certainly come in handy." Those would be the words that would accompany the face Tensei would see the moment Sephiroth caught up to him with a holy blade at his back. "... I bet you didn't see this coming..."

"Huh. Weak," Sephiroth said, hacking through each blade that blocked and parrying each one that countered with his sword coated with a 'Shadow Flare,' noticing that they were two completely separate attacks entirely. If he weren't sharp, he probably would not have noticed and ended up being struck by either the 'Crimson Crucifixion' or the 'Crimson Crucifix' that followed. Sephiroth's body rose with the steam, which also trailed behind the heat of the 'Shadow Flares' upon his sword, and was barely visible and just as vaporous as that which engulfed his body. His silhouette wisped in and out of vision as he kept pursuit with Tensei, yet the hazy fog that followed him was not the only misty trail about the see. The soft pitter-patter of Sephiroth's high-speed footsteps could be heard lightly treading above the water in numerous different places within the several streams of steam, which would eventually converge as they coated the entirety of the waters and the skies. Sephiroth would be lost inside of it all, his presence suddenly becoming silent once the mist wrapped over the entire ocean's surface. There would be no way to trace him after that, for it would sound as though his feet were no longer upon the water.

With no way to avoid the blazing 'Godspeed' green flames from finding and burning him yet again, as he had been before during their first battle, Sephiroth would immediately leap out of the mist as it would be completely burnt up, high into the sky and with Tensei's eyes dead set on him, as he had anticipated this time. "Hmhm. Owari da..." he muttered triumphantly, holding up his blade and calling forth a series of octagonal bit-like translucent energy plates to form a 'Wall' before him, blocking the attack initially and leaving Tensei wide open for the retaliation 'counter' attack that came from the 'Scintilla.' With that, Sephiroth should have finally gotten a good, clean, sure-fire hit from Tensei, striking him down immediately the moment his eyes were still locked on the crumbling 'Wall' at the sight of his gaze.

Because Tensei was the one that initiated the energy conversion, whatever energy would get to Jenova at that time would be because of him, thus causing him to lose under the conditions of the battle that were not to use the Lifestream, which would involve anything involving Jenova, including giving her any sort of energy more than just her own. Tensei was finished here and now. He wouldn't be able to do anything with his energy after Sephiroth's shield had been shattered by it because Tensei would be too preoccupied with Sephiroth, himself, who would be coming down on him with a blade that would meet him wherever he tried to move instantaneously. With no time to act between his 'Eternal Salvation' and the 'Scintilla,' which worked as a 'counter' to the 'Eternal Salvation' and thus shouldn't be able to be countered by 'Nirvana,' especially if Tensei didn't see the 'Scintilla' coming, Sephiroth's victory was secured and their images could fade as they progressed to the Chocobo Farms just before Jenova would get there, herself. "You lose..."

When Sephiroth plucked his blade from Tensei's severed bod, waves of 'Sudden Cruelty', which were two visible sword slashes that struck multiple times with innumerable unseen sword slashes before, in between and directly behind the two, would follow just beside him with 'Reapers', which were three visible sword slashes that struck multiple times with innumerable unseen sword slashes before, in between and directly behind them would follow just behind the 'Sudden Cruelty' that should have blocked off Tensei's sides effectively. The moment Tensei both retaliated and sped away, already as he was off, there were sword slashes at the ready to follow him. That one single hit became the most advantageous move for Sephiroth to turn this around as quickly as possible, now that he had a one-up on Tensei due to the extra strike (and the multiple that would follow to fill in any counter attacks in between.) At that point, even if Tensei was farther ahead, he was once again wide open and and a sitting duck that wouldn't know where Sephiroth was going to strike next. Sephiroth chuckled as he vanished again in a flickering blur, waiting for the most precise opening to go for the kill...

Sephiroth's image suddenly hop-skipped alongside Tensei's out of nowhere, directly back on course as they'd began, as if they'd never diverted from it even for a moment. Sephiroth was completely stunned and baffled as how well this person was able to go blow for blow with him, even down to the wire, when Sephiroth had the clear advantage. And so easily, at that. There was something really very powerful about the adaptations in his Geostigma... This realm would be good to have it... Especially since it would spread to the Chocobo in the Forest once they were exposed to him, probably. Sephiroth would have to deal with what had to come after that. But for now, he might as well enjoy whatever little bit there was left before they reached their goal and/or Jenova began to move again.

"Not a single opening, even at the very end..." he'd say in a congratulatory tone, his sword still very much at the ready, held out in front of him and glowing with a burning aura like that of a feathered wing, "... I really must commend you. I didn't expect to enjoy myself this much against a perceived stranger. You have my gratitude." Now that Tensei and Sephiroth were back on completely even ground and were visibly out in the open again, it was as if they were starting completely over from the very beginning for the last time in their sprint to the finish line. "... But that's not going to stop me from finishing you off, blackbird." Sephiroth took a swipe of his blade with 'Transience,' yet again, causing with just a single stroke a full on barrage of unseen 'petty' sword strikes, as they were called. Yet, with just that slash, he was not done there.

"Octoslash," he cried out in a deep, beckoning tone before another Sephiroth appeared directly in front of him, as he probably had foreseen happening to him before due to the way the 'Sudden Cruelties' and 'Reapers' were set to cut him off from behind and from the sides, leaving only the front for Sephiroth to strike from. If Tensei had believe or thought this would happen, this would be the image he did see whilst the flickering Sephiroth that ran alongside him would be the one he did not see. Therefore, with the First slash, the same 'Transience' that struck multiple times would strike again with a powerful slash; the one that incurred the 'Transience' in the first place as well as the 'Transience' itself hitting from a different time and place whilst it was moving at 'Godspeed.' Thus, with the ending of the pre-slash, the First Slash would also begin and end at the same time as the pre-slash ended. This would immediately create a look of Sephiroth in a 'sword-slash time loop' and slashing Tensei an innumerable amount of times with 'Transience,' as well as the petty slashes that came before, during and after the initial strike all during this extended infinite time loop. Therefore, the pre-slash and the First slash could go on infinitely slashing any number of times necessary to keep Tensei's attention and were immediately 'Marked for Death' as decoys.

Meanwhile, the third image of Sephiroth would appear on the opposite end of the first that initiated the 'Octoslash,' ready to deliver the Second slash immediately. With a wave of 'Sudden Cruelty' that would be hidden within the oncoming 'Transience' slashes (which there were two of), the Second slash would trace behind the pre-slash and the first, following them in their potentially infinite time loop of stacked and slowly rising sword slashes happening all at once, yet all at different times and places.

The Third slash from the Fourth Sephiroth came from below, sending out a slew of 'Reapers' sweeping across the ground with the petty slashes slashing up the barren land below their feet and leaving marks etched in the ground nearly everywhere the larger, concentrated slashes headed, as if gravitating around all three strikes. With these nipping at Tensei's feet, every time his feet flickered in, they would be struck with the 'Reapers' and lose balance, allowing him to be struck down with and by the 'Transience' slashes and the 'Sudden Cruelty' that followed, like the cold jaws of death.

The Fourth, Fifth and Sixth slashes from the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Sephiroths came from afar in alignment, a slew of 'Fervent Blows' immediately ready to cleave clean through Tensei like a fresh carved turkey once he tripped and fell all the way at the finish line following right before, during and after their appearance. There, Sephiroth could make up for every strike he missed by getting them all here at once whilst he still had a chance.

The Seventh slash was of 'Heaven's Light,' waiting to strike only if Tensei were capable of getting past the first Seven Sephiroths. If so, then the Eighth Sephiroth would immediately, as he was progressing, release a 'Heaven's Light' slash at only the most opportune moment whenever Tensei was most vulnerable, and never at any other time. Therefore, this strike that moved at the speed of heavenly light would strike him down in his weakest point the moment it were made open from his being distracted with all the attacks from Sephiroths 1-7. Each slash would be like crows pecking at him and his feathers, ripping them out slowly and painfully with the flutter of steel as the beating of their wings. 'Heaven's Light,' as the Seventh slash, was the icing on the cake, but the cherry on top was the Eighth slash.

During the Final slash, the Ninth Sephiroth would be waiting patiently at the end of the other Sephiroths, if Tensei could even escape the onslaught, so that he may strike him down with a swift, pristine, clean and precise decisive slash of 'Oblivion' as a finishing blow. His strikes were precise and completely rhythmic, moving in a timely manner, yet at different speeds and times and places, yet still like clockwork all around. Therefore, the Ninth Sephiroth, moving the slowest, would be the one waiting for the right moment to finish the kill.

Now, the Tenth Sephiroth, to complete the entirety of the Sephirot, would appear at the furthest down, behind each of the other Sephiroths, where 'Malkuth' would be, lingering behind each of the other Sephiroths that were moving more swiftly. The image that they all took in the 'Octoslash' would create the symbol of the 'Sephirot.' With it complete, many archaic runes that were imprinted in the life of all things would bring to the Earth the 'Heartless Angel,' of which the Tenth Sephiroth would point to Tensei and release to 'Doom' him, since, by the order of the set up, Tensei should have been in the empty spot of the 'Sephirot.' The voice of the 'Angel of Death' would chime as an authoritative, yet melodious call, like that of a trumpet,



This single cry (as what one would hear during Sephiroth's theme) was that of the 'Heartless Angel' of the 'One-Winged Angel' condemning someone to their 'Doom,' which would leave them to be taken by 'Death' immediately after. By the time Tensei escaped the elaborate labyrinth of sword slashes, the 'Heartless Angel' would have already condemned him and stolen his heart and soul, just as Sephiroth had done to so many before they died by the edge of his blade. This would be Sephiroth's 'coup de grace' to take this battle home from the wounded bird.
