Nature

History (Past)
Ancient servants originally made by the divine in the image of whatever they decided, sometimes Humanoid. When the Witches gained power over this Construct, they replaced the Abominations that they used due to their overall better performance and their stability, even if they lacked their own emotions and will. The Witch-made Golems were based off of the great elemental golems that were born directly from the will of nature, and as such, these beings, unlike their originals, did not possess souls or minds. The Witches animated them through powerful Manna, or through the use of a single soul. When a soul was placed into a Golem, it was assimilated to it and the attributes of the soul became the attributes of the Golem. Thus, those of past lives could be 'reborn' as Golems, though were condemned to servitude to the Witch that brought them to life -- though, they did not particularly mind. When Old Witch City was overrun with Abominations, many of the Golems were used to take them out, and as such, very few of the elder ones remain. They say there is a village dedicated to the creation and animation of Golems, however, not forgetting the elder practices of the Witches of yore.

More recently, Golems have stopped being powered by pure souls and Manna and have now been powered by Cores, which utilize both to avoid a soul assimilating with one Golem. The Golem Core harnesses the energy of a soul or the energy of Manna and perpetuates it, or uses other things and transforms that energy into energy for the Golem. Everything is inscribed in the Core of a Golem; even the owner. Thoughts, duties, memories, personalities -- even souls. When one wishes to take possession of a Golem, they will engrave their name on the Core, which will then overwrite the name of the previous owner. They say that the Core is also able to regenerate the Golem's body if it still has fuel, no matter how much it has been destroyed, so to truly destroy a Golem, you must also destroy its Core.

Habitation (Present)
They live generally everywhere, however in secluded environments, and normally not in great numbers. However, they still are created sometimes, and in that type of environment, they thrive and coexist.

Purpose (Future)
Servants and protectors who normally follow the command of a sentient being. Occasionally, a Golem will acquire a will of its own if powered by a soul, or if a soul is the fuel for its Core. Thus, if one roams around of its own free will that isn't controlled by someone elsewhere, it is most likely a free golem and widely unpredictable.

Specific Info (Species)

Species Info
Creatures constructed of the earth or a uniform material, be it clay, mineral, flesh, or metal. They usually run on a core that must be destroyed to fully kill them. Though many of the earliest Golems were indeed giants -- hence why they are classified as 'Gigases' -- and were believed to have their own wills and souls, the later Golems were created, and as such were made in the image of what they were necessary for. They have incredible attacking power and defensive power and can usually resist even the most powerful attacks with ease. Sometimes, they even float if their core is powerful enough. They have a wide array of abilities, as well. The color of the Core dictates the power and rarity of a Golem, and sometimes even its elemental attribute.

They are mostly mineral made Constructs similar to the Homunculi and the Mechanica, making up the three primary Constructed beings. They, as with all the others, were used primarily as servants and tools of war, since they were easy for the Witches to create and control, as opposed to the Homunculi, which had human qualities. With their hard bodies that had variable substance, they were very powerful beings long ago. Some managed to gain their own sentience. Most of the mystical power that comes from Golems is either already inscribed on their bodies or directly on their cores or souls. Normally, the one who owns them is written somewhere on their body, or directly inside of their Core. The Core that burns within most Golems runs off of various energies, and as long as things are continuously put in, the Core will continue to put out. Because some Golems are made with Souls, they will acquire the traits of the soul that animates them and become sentient.

Legend has it that the God of the Machine Golems is Alexandros, the original Mechanica.

Nature

With origins which stem from alchemic understanding of how humanoid beings could be created as something like pygmies bearing unique exaggerated parts, the concept was cultivated into actual human farming, leading to the creation of the more modern Homunculi that are actually given these attributes upon conception and they are not genetically inherent. After the procedure, they become genetically active and can be passed down reproductively, however often times result in mutations due to instability, and eventually sterility from too many conflicting variables.

Old Witch City, Enigmatic Ruins, Necropolis (Graveyard), Great Valley, Darkness Lands, Hidden Cavern

Area Effect
Protection

Effect
Protection

Side-Effect
Protection

Nature

History (Past)
They were originally created as protectors of castles and homes, considering their more gothic style of architecture, and used powerful abilities in days of old to bring the stone creatures to life. Though some were animated with Manna, there were some that were granted an actual consciousness by means of a soul. These particular Gargoyles can go into a completely stone hibernation state, yet maintain just slight consciousness and alertness. Though many people are known for actually carving Gargoyles out of stone, it is said that some Gargoyles that rest on the perches were very powerful Demons taken by the Divine Beings and changed into stone as punishment for their crimes, demoted to Imps bound to protect the constructs they have been assigned, only able to leave their perches at night or when an intruder is present. Some take to their positions and become humbled, wanting to help and protect those that come in their presence. Newly transformed Gargoyles, and some of old, hold a burning hatred within them, which is noted through their dark stares, sending a chill up the spine of any who encounter them. It has long been said that when one feels a chill, an angry Gargoyle is watching, and they are widely hated and feared as bringers of ill-fortune. They say that the only way a Gargoyle that has been punished to get out of its punishment is to be taken or promoted by a very powerful Demon or someone with mastery over mystical abilities, -- such as a Master or Mistress -- or to be relieved by a Divine Being for their good work and valor and be promoted to a Gargoyle Saint. In the past, Gargoyles were beautifully crafted and encrested with many jewels and treasures, or even made of such rare mineral, said to be the 'protectors' of great fortune due to their longevity and patience.

Habitation (Present)
Very odd creatures of a rather complex background, the start of a Gargoyle's life is always shaped by stone, whether it be by imprisonment by a higher being or to be carved from scratch and brought to life. Most that were carved by the Witches were Draconic or Bestial in appearance, and it was later after many demons were cursed by the divine to their punishment that 'Demonic' or 'Humanoid' Gargoyles had been fashioned into their form. They come to life of their own will and maintain their mineral form, yet have sentience all of their own, not bound to the curse that the demonic gargoyles are...

Purpose (Future)
With the will to protect instilled within them for many years, it has become part of their instinct, and they are known to pose as bodyguards to other creatures due to their high durability, but have been known to attack on their own now that they are achieving their own wills. They commonly pose as normal statues and wait for unsuspecting prey and release a mist that causes them to become extremely heavy, like stone, to prevent escape, and then they gradually change the target into a pure stone statue, like themselves. Though their bodies and claws are made of stone, they are said to be able to penetrate some material harder than their own bodies. There are some that are even fashioned from better and harder substances, since some are of the Golem family.

Specific Info (Species)

Species Info
Gargoyles are odd creatures of odd construction, said to have many forms based upon the way they are carved, but with three main types: Draconic, which resemble dragons, reptiles, and serpents, preferring to traverse on all fours, but are capable of movement on hind legs; Demonic or Humanoid, which have human-like or demonic features, noted in their faces and opposable thumbs as well as the preference to stand on hind legs; and Bestial, which resembles animals such as lions, dogs and other four-legged creatures, sometimes with bird-like heads and donned with wings. With names originally spelled Gargouille, which means 'throat,' a majority of their signature techniques come from their throats, mouths or powerful screeches.

What a work of art, to capture the eyes of so many, and draw a sigh from even the most heartless of creatures. Yet because of its enchanting beauty, each one, after being made, is stolen forthwith, and now none care to make these priceless artifacts. The only ones who remember their true beauty are the demons that clutch them to their breasts in pleasure born of avarice. They are called the demon's sigh, and the world shall never know their like again. Sometimes, one can even hear the sad or angered whispers of a Gargoyle in the sighs of the wind.

Despite the weight of stone and their clearly mineral wings, they are able to take flight into the skies due to the sheer power that their wings possess, and their ability to control wind to help them in the air. An old folk tale says that looking into the eyes of a gargoyle statue will rob you of your ability to move to your own will, such is an effect of their demonic Terror Eye. The size and height of these gargoyles is totally dependent on how they are carved, and as such, their power varies. They are able to regenerate their bodies through other rocks and stones, or re-Petrification.

Abilities (Arts)

Natural/Discipline
Rock Flinger - From its own stone body, it will fire off large clods of stone with great concussive force. Alternatively, it will cause mounds of solid earth to rise and be flung forcefully at the foe, trying to crush them. (Mineral Only)

Supersonic - A powerful cry which bears disorienting wavelengths and a great force. It causes confusion. (Confusion)

Style/Technique
Gradual Petrify - With a gleam of its eyes signifying its lock on its foe, the Gargoyle will start to gradually change its target into pure stone, slowly but surely, one body part at a time, where the foe will be a complete statue. (Petrification)

Aerial Slash - A versatile technique that focuses air pressure to a point on the body. Then, with a slash of the arm or the wing, it releases the condensed air as a slicing blade or numerous blades of wind. Alternatively, it charges this energy into its arms or wings and strikes the opponent, slashing them or flying into them with its wings and cutting through them like the wind.

Dark Mist - Releases a thick mist, usually from the mouth, that is of a dark gray color, whose only effect is to cause those who are within to be inflicted with the weight of stone. This causes their movement to become several times more difficult own and forces them to stay bound to the ground, where they will move slowly and sluggishly, as if they were stone itself. (Weight)

Art/Signature
Break - A concentrated beam of of energy fired from the mouth or from the eyes that instantly shatters a Petrified target and is unable to be repaired. Also functions on Earth or Mineral beings.

Terror Eye - An evil, demonic eye filled with dark energy meant to instill Terror in those who look at it, whether they are afraid or not, thus completely stopping the ability to use any technique. Once one looks into the Terror Eye of a Gargoyle, they will feel their bodies tense up and go into a forced paralysis that halts them in place, Disabling and Immobilizing them to ensure that they cannot escape. Beak/Fangs - A sharp beak capable off tearing through minerals with ease; Sharp and tiny fangs in the mouth crush minerals to bits. The power depends on the type of mineral the Gargoyle is made from.

Body - A hard body made of stone or other mineral. It charges with great force sometimes enhanced by flapping its wings and rams its heavy stone body into its target for bone-shattering damage.

Accessories
Wings - Powerful wings able to send even these large, heavy beings into the skies. Very sturdy and durable for defense, and the winds they create are used to their advantage. The heavier the mineral, the more powerful the wings.

Tail - Long, thick, and powerful tails made for strong and unexpected attacks. Some Humanoid or Demonic Gargoyles lack tails.

Nature

History (Past)
Once normal 'Idols' that were given life by the 'Spiritual Energy' of their creators, the Idols were either forsaken and became indignant in their spirits, or they were lit aflame, which caused them malicious wrath.

Habitation (Present)
Though they are born from the indignation of an Idol or through its burning, -- and thus, can be born anywhere that there is Idolatry -- their nativity is also where flaming woodlands known as the 'Wildfire Woods' become enchanted with Spiritual Energy, however even there, they are quite rare. Normally, a Burning Idol is located in Purgatorio, born from the Idolatry of the Sinners there.

Purpose (Future)
As incarnates of wrath, they spread destruction and malevolence wherever they roam, completely destroying civilization and poisoning societies with vehemence of all sorts. Though they are capable of their own will, they are often used by Divine Beings or even Tainted beings as weapons of mass destruction.

Specific Info (Species)

Species Info
As 'Idols', the 'Burning Idols' bear a great deal of Spiritual Energy, which they use for fuel for their fires. Omens of oncoming destruction and tools of violence amongst greater beings, what was once used as symbols of worship become feared as harbingers of malice. As long as they have Spiritual Energy to burn and a target, their flames will not die out on their own. If they are given peace or resolution, the will that is angered will neutralize, and the fires will die, along with the Burning Idol. If their wrath becomes more intense, however, they will begin devouring flesh, which will turn them into a 'Wickerman'.

General Info (Genus)

Ecosystem (Environmental)
Molten or Volcanic areas.

Influence

Area Effect
Molten

Effect
Melt

Side-Effect

Nature

History (Past)
Sometimes, Golem Cores would get into volcanoes or underground into magma. Once this happened, the Moltena were formed all on their own. They were rarely discovered until more recently than most other Golems, so they were not brought into servitude, and they lived mostly in secrecy.

Habitation (Present)
They live mostly in volcanic or molten regions, as they are more or less incapable of living in other places without endangering themselves or others. However, it's rarely found that their lives can be supported outside of their habitats if the proper conditions are met.

Purpose (Future)
They often do things underground, and also drain volcanoes that are overflowing. They are also said to be able to create hot springs in mountains by living underneath.

Specific Info (Species)

Species Info
A Golem that is made from molten rock and magma, and typically lives in volcanoes. They have potent control over their subterranean environments, and are also said to be able to travel to and interact with the core of planets. They have a violent and ferocious temperament.

Their body is born from lava, and its properties and heat vary depending on color. The black, cool, and hardened-looking parts are comparatively hard and low temperature. In contrast, the red hot parts are softer and hotter than human skin. Furthermore, they’re weak against water. When a considerably large amount of water is poured on them, their normal ferocity temporarily fades, and they even show fear. Also, if it’s a volcano, sometimes they even inhabit snowy mountains. Their ferocity dims because the chilly place is hard on them, but to a man who’s freezing on a snowy mountain, their hot body is warming to the body and soul.
