Heaven's Gate :: Chocobo's Paradise

It had taken Fat Chocobo and his honored escort, Overlord Tensei, a bit of time for them to return to Chocobo World from the Dimension Gate after traveling both to and from the Veritas from which Overlord Tensei hailed, but finally, once peace was restored throughout all Chocobo World, the two could enter Fat Chocobo's most private, most fanciful resort. He clucked happily at seeing his Paradise intact; rushing clean pools of water equipped with slides and fountains of variable size and volumes, each built into the mountainsides. The roman columns and architecture provided impeccable shelter to each of the Chocobo that were allowed residence in the Chocobo's Paradise, including the familiarly called 'Chocobocolinas' that littered the land as Fat Chocobo's personal aides. They were splashing each other and swimming in the pool with the other Chocobo.

Fat Chocobo cleared his throat and spread his golden wings out wide, which would shine in all their brilliance in the light of the sun in a warm welcome to Overlord Tensei, before he cawed out happily,


Fat Chocobo would place a feathered finger on the underside of his beak again, stroking his chin with a lightly curled up smile at either end, chirping, "Pretty nice, isn't it?"

Fat Chocobo, who was worried about his new acquaintance, would frown at the sight of his still being down despite the exchange of royalties and the experience of Fat Chocobo's own blessings upon him. "Darn, I was sure that would do it," he clucked to himself, still stroking his chin with his glossy feathers. "Hmmm." Seemed like if the presentation of luxury couldn't help and the personal exchange of feelings couldn't seem to settle his own, then there wasn't anything really that Fat Chocobo could do except to wait it out and hope for the best.

He turned to his friend, Overlord Tensei, who was walking off and would say, "Well, feel free to make yourself comfortable." Fat Chocobo's kind heart was still outpouring toward the Tensei, because of what he knew about them and how he'd been treated by them before being taken into 'Chocobo Paradise.' "If you're feeling up to it, then perhaps a game of cards or something later on?" He pat Overlord Tensei on the shoulder in a casual manner, then would immediately leave him alone to do as he would. "I will be up there in the balcony pool relaxing." He waved his wing in the air passively, shaking his head. "After all that commotion, I need to take a load off, myself." Naturally, arrangements were already made for Overlord Tensei's personal escourt, since he was technically classified as a V.I.P. guest. Fat Chocobo made his way up to the Balcony Pool, informing his attendants along the way so that none, even in the lowest rank, would be ignorant to the treatment of his honored guest.

All of Chocobo's Paradise would know of him and to honor him whilst he was here, by authority of Fat Chocobo, himself.

As instructed prior to Overlord Tensei's interaction, the personal escorts of Fat Chocobo, many of which were Chocogirls; Chocolina, specifically, would come to his aid to direct him properly to the necessary channels to reach anywhere in the Chocobo Paradise.


"Yes, Overlord Tensei?" Chocolina smiled, appearing before him in a fluster of ruffling feathers, ready to do as instructed. "What is it that you need, sir?"

Chocolina hopped up in tandem with Overlord Tensei's excitement, suddenly getting pepped up, herself. "Woah! Okay, alright! Let's go! Right this way, Overlord Tensei!"

Chocolina would flap her wings and signal immediately to some of the Chocogirls to come over so she could tell them something. Each of them huddled together like a band of popular college teens chattering and giggling to themselves, then looking around in an innocently nervous manner. Sooner or later, they would each disperse, and return to what they were doing, or head off elsewhere after the girls flocked. Some of them remained together.

Overlord Tensei would be led up the staircase by a string of beautiful maidens, each dancing and singing the 'Chocobo Rap' in tune and in time, making much music and much harmony all about the atmosphere of Chocobo Paradise. Many Chocobo still relaxing in their bird bath pools would be bobbing thing heads up and down rhythmically in tune, suddenly chirping along with a "Kweh!" every now and then.

When Fat Chocobo heard his name called harmoniously by all of Chocobo Paradise in unison, and not in discord, as so he would not miss nor dismiss it, Fat Chocobo would suddenly perk up from his perch that he just rested upon, golden feathers aglitter in the sunset and peer over the edge of the balcony to where he heard word of Overlord Tensei coming. He would keep his eyes on Overlord Tensei all the way up the way, and would curl his beak upward to a casual smirk, "Why, that was fast, my boy! I barely got a chance to even sit down! Ohohoho." The chorus continued to bring him forth, all the way to Fat Chocobo, in song and in tune.

"Card Game, Eh?" Fat Chocobo said with a clucky chuckle, "Why, I do dabble. I've had my hand in Tetramaster, myself." He thought a little bit more, stroking his chin a bit more as he gazed off into the light, "In fact, if you challenge me, I'll send you to my private beaches." Under the feathers under his chin, Fat Chocobo was hiding a hand full of cards, already prepared, it seemed, once he caught wind of a 'Card Game' at all. "Can't say I don't love a nice old fashioned card game, I'll tell ya." He held them close to his face to hide his crafty smile. His cheeks raised over his eyes.

Fat Chocobo chirped out loud at Overlord Tensei's boisterous attitude, which was much more comforting than how down he seemed before. Fat Chocobo relished in it and became more at ease, himself. "Well, if you insist, then show me the ropes! I want the whole tour, since I haven't had a chance to view the Veritas. This will do." He placed his cards on his chest and sighed heavily, feeling the relief. "Well now, how do we get started?" He thought.

"Oh wait, before you can challenge me to a card battle, you do have to pick up a few things for me scattered across my private beaches. That could take a while." Fat Chocobo had his own personal protocol and rules that he followed that no one else knew about, especially as part of his own game. "Besides, it might be good for a demonstration and to practice. A Walkthrough or Tutorial, of sorts, I would think." It was better to practice in an area that Fat Chocobo had direct jurisdiction over rather than somewhere out in the field that he couldn't help out with. Someone would let Overlord Tensei know of the private beaches of Fat Chocobo when he was ready.

"Naturally!" Tensei said with a bright smile, as if anticipating that there was something fun behind it. "I don't think that, whenever I played the game and actually got to Chocobo's Paradise, that I ever challenged Fat Chocobo to the game of cards." He put a hand up to his face, then looked down. "... And if I did, then I certainly don't remember completing it." He shrugged it off, knowing that it would be done at a later date.

"Meanwhile, yes, just let me know what you need." He smiled and after he was informed of the information, itself, the 9th Restriction form of Overlord Tensei would already be bridging the gap between the information, itself. "Consider It Done." Overlord Tensei placed a hand under his abdomen and bowed his head softly, nodding in acknowledgement to Fat Chocobo. "Whatever Do You Need, My Good Fat Chocobo?"

Fat Chocobo would quickly raise his wing up, only for him to unveil a special personal card that he saved for someone who would take up his request and seek a card battle with him. "Tada! The 'Fat Chocobo Card!'"

When Overlord Tensei was presented his card, which was like a 'VIP' pass to each of his beaches, Fat Chocobo would continue on after he was explained by his attendants how to get there. "You will need to collect 21 other cards from the secret treasures that I've left for you there. You can use those cards to test out your system." Fat Chocobo was delighted that things were working out as planned, and he'd get his showcase, and a taste of the Verita, after all. "I do want to see how you'll get inside after I show you the door, though." No one else had done it before, so it was a curious mystery that actually held Fat Chocobo's attention more than anything, quite honestly, considering it may be the cure to their troubles forever, allegedly. That was what he was truly concerned about, even before all of Overlord Tensei's good will and manner. "Make sure to come see me when you're done. I may want to see more of that Card System in action!" He squawked.

"I think I've got the gist of what you're saying," Fat Chocobo would say, focusing intently on the digital projection. "Hmmm..." he thought, trying to find out where he would appear after watching O.S. Tensei appear. "Oh, is that me? The little dialogue box?" All of this was strange and new to Fat Chocobo, so he was having a bit of trouble getting the hang of it fully. "I guess as long as you can hear my voice, that will be enough for now. I'm still just observing and don't want to get in the way." Fat Chocobo would rather be a spectator, anyway.

Suddenly, trace amounts of distortions would occur all around Fat Chocobo and Overlord Tensei, and the image of a long-haired man in a black coat could be seen flickering about. The images stopped as a solid figure directly in front of Overlord Tensei, only for the form to be of Sephiroth, once again appearing out of nowhere, but who was listening the entire time. "Come with me," he said directly, "I know the way into Kingdom Hearts." The faintest smirk was upon his face. Sephiroth disappeared.

Fat Chocobo gasped when he saw Sephiroth come and go so quicky. In fact, he didn't even know that Sephiroth was even around. He must have been following Tensei, specifically, for whatever reason. "You'd better do what he says," Fat Chocobo forewarned, "If he decided to show up and help you, and hasn't stopped following you, then it probably means that he's probably not an enemy, in spite of his background." Fat Chocobo didn't see anything wrong with the change of heart if Sephiroth saw some sort of light again, and it wasn't much of his business. Fat Chocobo had enough trouble trying to get the hang of this card system that Tensei made. "Don't worry, I'll just watch this tutorial of the card game before we play. Go!" He squawked, almost like a hearty chuckle, "Go!" He urged again, shooing him away with his feathers. "There are better things to worry about than silly card games." It seemed like Fat Chocobo understood what was more important.
