Now, Zanphanis was brought to the green pastures of a different location, and not upon the Veritas Planet. He would arrive in the Forbidden territory that was completely different section from the Veritas Planet entirely.

Stepping through the portal was like stepping into a room of bright light. Zanphanis had to shield his eyes as he wadded through the thick glare that felt almost tangible. He thought he could feel it clinging to his skin, taking hold of his clothes, and pulling at his bag. There was a feeling of claustrophobia. The Half-elf wasn't quite magically inclined and never really knew anyone that was. The strangeness of it was too much for him to wrap his head around, but the same could be said about his training in a monastery since he was a child.

Finally Zan pushed through the last of the thick light and was greeted by pleasant winds. The light was far less harsh, allowing him to uncover his eyes and look upon the splendid verdure. It was a delightful prairie with mild weather. It wasn't ungodly hot, but it didn't seem like the autumn or winter had rolled around. If this place even experienced normal seasons as he remembered them.

Zanphanis look around, adjusting the bag on his shoulder and the strap he had wrapped tightly around his hand. "I knew this place felt familiar. It reminds me of the stories Lao Chi told me of Kara-Tur and its Plain of Horses." Zan, of course, had never been to the Plain of Horses in Kara-Tur, but Lao Chi told him of the steppe grasslands to the south that she saw on her travels in her younger years. The detail of her stories and his childish enthusiasm in imagining lands he'd never be able to see made him envision prairies just like this!

It was pretty out in the middle of nowhere though. There wasn't any clear signs of civilization in any of the immediated cardinal directions, but that was fine with Zan. He'd survived the journey through the Anauroch desert, to the west of the Desertsmouth Mountains he'd grown up in, to Waterdeep, which was farther west than the desert, without much help besides the pack he carried with him at all times and this wouldn't be any different.

He did want to find civilization though, as he had come across courteous caravans that helped ease the loneliness of solitary sojourning and made the journey faster. Whether he had actually heard a disembodied voice or not, it said that this place was something called The Veritas. Zan wasn't much of a book reader, but he had never heard of any place called that in Faerûn. Finding civilization, Zanphanis might be able to find someone that could tell him where he was, assuming he could effectively communicate with them. Once he knew where he was, he could go about the process of trying to find a way back to Waterdeep.

So Zan closed his eyes and held out his free hand, index finger extended. He took a deep breath and then spun around, careful not to go quickly enough to make himself dizzy. When he came to stop, he opened his eyes, with his finger telling him to go due North by Northeast. He nodded his head, adjusted his shoulders, and began his walk.
