He felt nauseous, his stomach felt like it had knots in it. He could hurl, if he had anything in his stomach to throw up, but held the feeling back as he rubbed the ground beside him looking for the sword that had fallen with him. For a man of his stature and size, the drop sure did make him feel sore and he wasn't even sure what was happening right now.

"W-where in the hell is this?" El asked himself aloud, looking around at the expansive scenery that played out before he baby blue eyes. His fingers danced over the hilt of the silver sword that he'd claimed as his own and he took it in hand before slowly raising to his feet. Where ever this was, it was clearly a different place than where he'd been before.

Perhaps a new world?

But why was he called here, for what purpose? Who felt the need to use a washed up swordman choosing to uphold the values of a long forgotten tradition and culture?

"This is the start of something new," said a disembodied voice with the likeness of a young girl, "To have stumbled into the place is Serendipity... This is a safe haven between the dimensions." The disembodied voice would soon sprout a body from the white void of shimmering crystal around him, in the form of a beautiful, yet ghastly young woman with her eyes closed. "For whatever the reason, you are now within the Veritas... And I am here to welcome you..."

"But I was just at home, I was in the middle of a fight, why was I pulled here?" El asked the girl that appeared before him. She would have to forgive him for his rudeness, but he had so many questions and he figured that she was the only one that could answer him in this space between dimensions. From where he'd called home, there had never been any literature about dimensional travel, though there were stories about people being spirited away.

"What is the Veritas, anyway?"

The apparitious young woman only smiled and giggled, the sound of her laughter echoing throughout this space in a lofty manner. "There are many reasons why you could have been brought here... Be they of your own or someone else's entirely..." She began to hover closer to him, slowly, but surely, with no real intent of stopping, regardless of how close she got to him.

"... But the discovery of such reasons is entirely up to you... The Veritas is nothing more than an isolated reality between the dimensions in search of others that seek its fortitude from destruction and ruin..." She came very close to him, slipping through his body like a spirit and through the other side without much care, "... Think of it like an entire realm; planet, universe and all, that has its own form of consciousness, spirituality and intelligence. A self-sufficient realm, of sorts... Nothing different from any living being..."

She would lightly tap her robed arms together, the sound of wind chimes and bells jingling slightly in the atmosphere before several large bends in reality would spiral open and reveal a multitude of rather gorgeous places all of very different atmosphere. Dusk, Dawn, Delta and Dream.

"... I will not say an absolute fact of why you were pulled here, but whatever reason it may be, it must be important to your own growth, or the well-being of something or someone else. The Veritas reaches through realities and draws in those who need or want its help... So, no matter what, it was because of the deep desires of another being that this realm picked up on..." Nothing short of a planet that was fully aware of itself and its own atmosphere, and was now capable of moving through the cosmos as its own entity rather than be trapped in the gravitational pull of a star somewhere.

"So I could be someone's, or even the planet's, champion? That could be the reason I'm here?" El asked as he looked behind him towards the ghost of a girl that was explaining his situation to him. El was a hero in his old world, or at least he used to be before chivalry died and was replaced with cowardly ways to do battle. It was more about the huge weaponry than the soldiers and he'd be tended obsolete. Maybe, just maybe, El had wished this upon himself and someone here, or the planet, complied.

He turned around to get a full and better view of the mysterious girl. "So someone... could have the need of my sword again?" He gripped Durandal tightly in his hand, feeling a sense of overwhelming joy washing over it. If there was someone that needed him as a knight then he was happy, no matter what world he was in. He couldn't even really remember what it was he had been doing before appearing here, just that he was in a losing battle and his comrades had already fallen.

"Perhaps this place will grant you what you seek," she said hazily, directing him to the windows into each of the four worlds, "From one of these places, choose your destiny... Which place seems to fit your persona best? The Dawn, filled with nature and spirits of all sorts and variety; the Delta, filled with modernized civilization with an Edo Japan-Medieval twist; the Dusk, filled with Futuristic technology and a bleak factorial undertone; or the Dream, filled with supernatural and mystical beings and enchanted places?"

She turned to him, never opening her eyes, nor loosening her smile, "Only you may create your destiny, so choose your path wisely... if you wish to go where you wish to be... both inside and out."

El look on at the portals, getting a feel for each of them from there view and the way that the girl had described them. He wasn't sure what he was searching for exactly, maybe a sort of pulling feeling from it to point him in the direction of whatever he was called here for. Unfortunately, he couldn't feel anything mystical from any of them and so he was reluctant to make a rash choice.

Slowly, he turned his head, and then his entire body. There was a feeling though, a tingle at the back of his neck, and he grabbed at the air behind him with his free hand. "I choose here." Was what he said, pulling open a fifth portal that would transport him to, what looked like, a land devoid of nature and lawless. Deep down, he felt like maybe the person he was here for had either been there, or was there somewhere and it was worth a shot to look. Cleverly, maybe this girl didn't know this was here, or had purposely hidden it for him.

"Oh... The outlands, huh...?" she muttered softly, "... Is it dangerous there and harbors no laws. It is survival of the fittest in that place, and exists beyond our boundaries... I cannot guarantee your safety..." That place, as well as the many other places that were connected, but not completely nor directly influenced by the Veritas itself, existed beyond the borders of the realm; outside of the Pandimensional Gateway. They were accessible both ways, though getting through to either side was not always the easiest task.

"We will be unable to interfere if anything... unfortunate... is to happen to you... Since it rests outside the jurisdiction of our law. There may be a chance of you being trapped outside..." Her voice slightly trailed off, knowing that there were certain protocols that she, being restrained to the Tenth, could not disobey, like those that were higher. But that was neither here nor there.

"Without the ability to freely warp between dimensions, moving about beyond different land masses beyond the gate proves difficult. Are you sure you wish to take this course of action...?" If this was his wish, he would be placed in the destination of his choosing without question, for this was his choice. She was only here to help him as a guide, not unlike her knowledgeable predecessor of whom many confused as her father's doppelganger rather than a 'guidebook,' so to speak.

El found her concern, deafeningly cute, even for a ghost, and couldn't help but smile just a little bit at her warnings. Casually, the tall man, with a bulky physique, placed his sword on his shoulder and nodded his head assertively. "I was a pretty good fighter in my world you know, I'll be fine." He reassured before choosing to jump into the portal to be transported as he would. He didn't have much information about any of the hostiles that could exist in this world, but El was confident in his sword skills and abilities. Durandal had never let him down before, and he'd never tarnished its luster with a loss. They were almost the perfect tag team, even if the sword wasn't sentient.

"Well then, I wish you the best..." she'd say softly under her breath, waving at him with her sleeved hand whilst he took off. If he was as confident in his skills as he said where he would go off into the Lawless Land quite possibly without a way to get back (granted that she or anyone of the 10th was unable to assist him beyond the Veritas boundaries), then there was nothing she could nor would do to stop him. Once he leapt into the portal, it would close behind him, as would the other four, and he would end up landing somewhere arbitrarily in Valparaiso. With that, she would disappear as well, waiting for the next lost soul to fall into Serendipity in order to be guided to where their destiny called for them...
