Baby Genome -- A person that was created literally out of nowhere. It has no backstory, for it was freshly made, born literally as it is and destined never to change, fully containing everything that it is and will be in its nature. It has tribal markings all over its body that glow to symbolize when its inherent genetics have been activated. A child, yet also an adult, its first moments of life are discovering itself becoming conscious.

Baby Genome continued to weep silently in its sleep, until it was comforted by a voice -- the voice of its Creator. "I will bring you back when the time is right," it said. "You are to enjoy your life. You are to build until the end of your days. When the time comes, you will be taken, for there will be nothing left for you here." And that was all the voice said before it forcefully woke Baby Genome up with the word "AWAKEN." Baby Genome immediately became conscious, wiping tears from its face. It sobbed quietly for a while, glowing some at the feeling of sadness. But it remembered its Creator's voice, and its words, and it was comforted. It was afraid to build, but knew it must. It had to get to space. It had to do it now.

Baby Genome got up from under the table, eyes sunken and soaked, a dreary expression on its face. It looked dull -- dim, like it had just become a neanderthal. Its jaw hang open, its posture curved into a hunch, lifelessness in its eyes. It was not the same Baby Genome that it was before it fell asleep. It tried to wipe its eyes, but felt too tired to do so. It was still sleepy... No, it was depressed. So many things flashed before its eyes; many inventions that it had to create. But for right now, this was all it could do. It looked around at the others and found the strength to smile, happy that they were getting along.

Baby Genome bat its eyes weakly. "... I..." Baby Genome could not get the words out at first, but eventually came to speak, "I'm going to..." It would have said 'die', but that was not the purpose of what its Creator wished for it. It knew that it was not supposed to dwell. It was supposed to... Build. "... I'm going to need a lot of materials," Baby Genome said weakly, chuckling just as intensely. When the others showed concern, it was clear that it was correct about their souls before. It was pleased, despite Carla's soul being mangled and gnarled. "... I just need to make something important," it said, smiling gently. "I won't last forever. I must make the most of my time."

Baby Genome was happy to have their words as support. After going through the experience of knowing death, it was ready to dote. But these beings knew that their deaths were evident. Baby Genome, who could have lived forever in terms of years, was just as mortal as they were and never thought about how it would die. It simply knew that it was ageless. Now, with a limit, it felt rushed... Though, the rest of them did not. It was strange. So, Baby Genome thanked them, saying, "I appreciate your support, you all..." Then, it asked, "... But you do not feel rushed in life? As if it is too short to accomplish all you wish?"

Baby Genome nodded lightly, but seemed more energetic now. "I was born a week and a half ago. I was born as I am, with only my inherent knowledge like that of a human to rely on. I know everything, yet I know nothing. To know that I will die after only a week and a half of living freely, happily, and without care..." Suddenly, it hit Baby Genome. "... I don't have to stop, do I? I can be just as happy as I was... And accomplish my dreams. Right?" It absorbed the words of the others and nodded profusely, saying, "I understand your histories are what led you to understand and come to terms with death and loss, but... This is my first time. But..." Baby Genome lowered its head bashfully, blushing, "I'm glad I had people to go through it with."

Baby Genome closed its eyes, rising from the table. "Well, it was nice of all of you to help me through it all. I may have been born just last week, but I know more than people who have lived lifetimes. Yet, still..." It looked up to the starry sky, reaching up to what it believed would be one of the universes it would see up close one day, "... I know nothing." With those words, Baby Genome became determined to work. It wanted to build many things before its Creator took it, whenever that time was. And the best way was to get started now. "... Well now! I've had an enjoyable time meeting and greeting with all of you, but now it is time to fulfill my life-given duty!" It was late, but never too late to start. "Goodnight, everyone! I hope to see you again!" It walked off after that.

Baby Genome, though it had come to terms with its inevitable death, was still frustrated at the fact that it didn't know when that was going to be. It had gone to sleep the night before and seen a dream of its Creator again, this time face to face. "Do not worry about the span of your life, Baby Genome," the Creator said, "You will have enough to enjoy life. I will know when your time is up, be it now or later." These words comforted Baby Genome, knowing its Creator was watching over. Having been awake the entire time afterward, it did nothing but tinker with machinery for the rest of the day. It created many small, orb-like mechanical devices that all seemed the same. By the time the other person was near, it was working on something else.

Baby Genome looked up from what it was doing, an emotionless, tired expression on its face. "... Hello..." it said dryly. It looked as if it hadn't any food or drink at all since it had awakened. It continued to tinker with the device that it was making, different from the mechanical orbs.

Baby Genome silently continued to work on its device, pulling the pieces of machinery it found around the Bay near it and then incorporating them into the new design of what it was making. "I..." Baby Genome paused, dropping its tool. "... I don't know..." It lowered its head, black hair drooping over its face and casting a dark shadow.

Baby Genome shook its head. "Baby Genome is healthy." Perhaps, not mentally, however. It was torn between the words of its Creator and its own feelings of getting life accomplished. "... Baby Genome needs..." It turned its head to the side to look at the woman from between the parting pieces of hair spilling over its face, some into its mouth, and said, "... Happiness..."

Baby Genome tilted its head back, letting its hair flop behind its head as it looked up to the sky. It reached up weakly, gripping at something... Something intangible. "... Life..." The words of its Creator wouldn't get out of its head. It was told not to worry about its life, but how could it not? Maybe... Because Baby Genome had little faith. It had much wisdom, but little faith.

Baby Genome fell backward, its naked body feeling the soft plush of the grass. Baby Genome hadn't stopped working since it woke up. It was told to invent. To build. And that's what it was doing. But now, it wasn't enjoying its life, like it was about a week ago, when it was first born. It could only think about how rushed its life was, and how close death could be. Yet... When it felt the softness of the Bay's grass on its face again, it came to a calm... And it started to remember. The tribal markings all over its naked, genitalless body glowed softly, and it smiled. "... Baby Genome... Seeks contentment." Perhaps, that was already found.

Baby Genome turned its head, a smile suddenly upon its face; a dreamy look in its eye. "... Is that so...?" Baby Genome inquired, closing its eyes and opening them quite slowly. "... What do you seek, miss...?"

Baby Genome's eyes lit up at the statement. "... So do I." Baby Genome got up, standing to its feet and brushing itself off. "I am Baby Genome. I was made out of this Rainbow Bay just a little over a week ago. I'm trying to go to space so I can see the universe... And many other universes... Before I die." Now, it seemed like Baby Genome was in a neutral-yet-positive state, collecting its things and setting them on the table as it sat down. "These are transportation pods. When I complete my device, I will be able to transport myself anywhere a pod is located. I intend to see a great many places this way, but first I am going to send them into space." Baby Genome took a fruit and started to eat. "That is Baby Genome's story. What is yours? And your name?"

Baby Genome was suddenly intrigued by this mysterious 'Rae'. It placed its hands behind its back and curiously leaned to one side, smiling and saying, "Your mystique is quite apparent. Intentional, I presume?" Baby Genome casually leaned to the other side, still smiling, its glow fading away. "Distrust? Or, discomfort?"

Baby Genome made a pleasant expression with its face. "I understand. I know many things. I unlocked a lot of information." It rose upright, then continued to eat its fruit. "I hope that it isn't because I am off-putting. I get that a lot because of my being as a being." Baby Genome was starting to think about how much it felt better after talking... And feeling the Bay... Like it did when it was ignorant. More childish. Perhaps... That is what its Creator wanted? Baby Genome needed more faith. "Do you like it here?" it asked innocently, a certain sweetness in its voice as it spoke.

Baby Genome was happy now, and it showed by its beaming face. "That is good! I like it here, too. I have seen and done so much! Even though it was only a little..." It finished off its fruit and looked down to its inventions. Suddenly, it felt like it didn't need to rush its own life anymore. And it felt peace. "Ah~..." Baby Genome sighed with relief, "... I think I know what I was missing. Peace." Baby Genome was now happy and content, but it also had peace, so it wasn't concerned with life or death anymore. Just... Being. "... How do you like to exist?" An odd question, but coming from one made to simply exist, -- and it knew that -- it wasn't so distant a thought.

Baby Genome, after the encounters it had, got inspired to create more useful things for itself. However, not before it had another dream. In its sleep, it saw its Creator again, and was told, "Remember my words to you and understand why I keep coming to you. The Bay will teach you the words that are too many for you to handle from my own mouth." This was to give Baby Genome faith. "Be faithful," the Creator said before waking Baby Genome up. When Baby Genome awoke, it got to work. It created a mechanism that caused the transportation pods it created to hover, and it finished the device that was meant to use them. It strolled through the Bay, now carefree, followed by these machines. When it saw someone, it said, "Hello! I am Baby Genome!"

Baby Genome could have sworn it saw someone somewhere. Perhaps its eyes deceived it? No matter. It went over to the table to sit, but it caught whiff of a pungent odor. "What... Is that?" it inquired, looking around.

Baby Genome followed the odor to where it believed the stench was coming from, pods floating beside it all the while. The gray, naked being sniffed all the way down to the underside of the table, then lifted the cloth.

Baby Genome blinked a few times, took another whiff, then shook its head. "Well!" It said, backing away a bit, "You certainly aren't the cleanest thing Baby Genome has seen!" At that point, Baby Genome noticed the other creature -- a lizard-like one -- who was manifesting something. "Oh. Did I startle you? No need to become hostile!" Baby Genome knew how to defend itself, but it was still quite naked and without any real weaponry besides bare fists. The kobold seemed to have mystical power, and Baby Genome had nothing of the sort to counteract. "Excuse me if I'm intruding on you two!" It dropped the cloth and took some steps back... Enough to not smell them anymore.

Baby Genome looked confused. "I am Baby Genome, as I said before. I am a person." It didn't seem like it was much more complicated than that. "Though I have no genitals and many tribal markings on my body, you two are far more strange than I." The hostility was understood, and Baby Genome smiled warmly. "Bothering people? Is that what people are saying? I was interacting with them, yes, but they were hardly bothered. That must be something else you speak of." It squinted, looking at the two within the darkness, "And... Might I ask... What are you two? I can see only a little bit with that shroud of darkness and this distance..."
