Rainbow Bay

Mechanica came through a Dimension Gate that opened up near the table outside. They were male and female, one looking like a police officer garb in all black and the other like a maid. The two Mechanica stopped after stepping out of the Dimension Gate, saying simultaneously, "Hello. We are Mechanica." The officer said, "I am a Serviceman." The maid said, "I am a Servicemaid." They said simultaneously, "We come from the Veritas." They bowed. "What is your name, stranger?" the Serviceman asked.

Mechanica bid the Serviceman and Servicemaid to continue interaction. "What a pleasure to meet you," the Servicemaid said. "We have been sent to gather intel on this land," the Serviceman said. "What is the information that you have on this land, Zoe Deringer?" The Servicemaid gazed quietly.

Mechanica bid the two to continue. "No, no, nothing like that at all!" the Serviceman said, arms whirring with mechanical noise as they were raised and waved to and fro in front of him, his head shaking all the while. The Servicemaid continued, "We are simply humble Mechanica that are here by order of our ruler." She bowed again. "We come in peace, wondering about the nature of this land. This is why we gather information." Their goal was very simple; collect information simply to assess. "Our ruler likes this place and wants to understand it better. That is why Mechanica were sent," the Serviceman said, putting his arms down.

Mechanica processed the information given, the two service drones smiling softly as this was done. "That is a noble cause that our ruler has found interest in, so we are also here to learn about the people," the Serviceman went on to say. "It seems as though it is difficult for our ruler to interact with the residents, and Mechanica were thought to be of better utility to interact whilst gathering data." The Servicemaid bowed again. "We hope we do not disturb your peace."

Mechanica laughed, resulting in the two Mechanica laughing simultaneously before an abrupt halt. The Serviceman said, "We understand that this may be so, but there are a variety of us from the dimension we come from." His hand rotated in place randomly. "From what has already been gathered, different responses come from different units, so we try to be as variable as possible." The Servicemaid bowed for a third time, seeming to have it in her programming to do so often when interacting with others.

Mechanica stirred as a foreign Mechanica appeared, bidding interaction. "Hello," the mechanical man resembling an officer said, "I am a Serviceman." The mechanical maid beside him bowed, saying, "I am a Servicemaid." They both said simultaneously, "We can tell that you are a Mechanica, like us." The two smiled at the foreign Mechanica, asking, "What is your unit name?"

Mechanica insisted the Mechanica insist. "All things mechanical are Mechanica," the two spoke in unison. "We call our Androids Mechanica, as well. Some are known as 'BioHume' type Mechanica." The two bowed to MaNDA, "Pleasure to meet your acquaintance." The Serviceman's body suddenly surged with electricity, stimulating his attention. "Do you wish for assistance? We were made for service." The Servicemaid only smiled and bowed again, small whirs in her waist able to be heard, if one listened carefully.

Mechanica observed. The Serviceman and Servicemaid were motionless and without purpose, for their service was unnecessary here. They were withdrawn into the Veritas via Dimension Gate, leaving with the sentiments, "A pleasure to meet you!" before disappearing. Only moments later would another Dimension Gate open and a large, hovering digital cube of multiple colors would drop down, floating in midair. After a moment of silent flotation, a digital face appeared on the cube, which spoke out, "Hello, again! I am Cubie, a Data Storage Unit." Cubie hovered over the area, scanning the surroundings.

Mechanica collected, until Cubie spun around to meet the eye of MaNDA, hovering down to her. "I am another Mechanica of the Veritas. We are a hive-mind -- an interconnected system. I am a Data Storage Unit sent to withdraw data." Cubie scanned MaNDA, analyzing her thoroughly.

Mechanica retained the information within Cubie, which spoke again. "Oh, no, nothing like that would occur! When one of my units 'withdraws' information, it simply means that we take in our surroundings and store all of the information as binary within our storage space." Cubie's digital face smiled, making a typical anime expression. "Nothing external happens at all. It is merely like looking around and remembering what you see." After the analysis of MaNDA, Cubie assessed the data collected and whistled. "You are quite the well constructed android! You are very advanced. We applaud your creator!"

Mechanica had Cubie hover to the side quizzically. "A production company?" it inferred, "No wonder the work seems so authentic... We reproduce ourselves in our Factorial City, which is all mechanical. Our Mistress resides there as our system core. All things we gather go to her, and all things that go to her come to us. We've made generations of Mechanica in the Factorial City, and upgraded it to the point where it became mobile... Or, rather, she did. Our Matrix."

Mechanica opened up a Dimension Gate and sent an envoy through; one of the Servicemen Series -- an Overseer. It was a hovering unit that utilized anti-gravity as its means of mobility and resembled an upper torso with large claws. Its body was sleek and pristine, somewhat ovular and bulky. It noticed a sign of life and immediately hovered toward it, completely silently. "..." Following behind it was a small doll in gothic lolita attire, walking on its own, making mechanical whirring sounds as it did. "Hello!" the Doll said, coming to an abrupt halt on the beach.

Mechanica had the two inspect the lifeform before them, the Doll taking on an inquisitive look, mimicking a real human, whilst the Overseer merely scanned him to understand his composition. "Oh, no," the Doll said, "We're here to observe this land for our ruler. A Serviceman and Servicemaid were sent here the day before and came back with a report that life was friendly and that there were other Mechanica here! And so..." The Doll placed her hands behind her back and twisted the toe of her shoe into the ground to and fro cutely, "... We came to play!"

Mechanica sensed that parts of the man's body were mechanical or synthetic. This led the Doll to ask, "Are you an Android?" She inspected him a bit, but was not equipped with scanning features as the Overseer was. Still, somehow, they fed information to each other. "Play, like... A game, or something!" The Doll said, fabricating a smile.

Mechanica could tell that the man was troubled by the Doll via the Overseer regularly scanning his biorhythms. This led the Doll's attitude to suddenly change, and she would simulate an expression of pain, tears inclusive. "I'm sorry..." she said as the Overseer made a strange humming noise. "... What game are we going to play, Mister...?" the Doll asked, wiping away tears and suddenly becoming emotionless and motionless whilst awaiting an answer.

Mechanica had already sent envoys earlier, one of which departed. The one that remained was a small Doll wearing gothic lolita attire. She noticed the egg and simulated an expression of surprise, just as humans do, mechanical whirring able to be heard in her body as she moved. "Oh!" the Doll cried, "A strange egg! It looks like it is about to hatch!" The Doll stood near the egg and waited emotionlessly for something to happen.

Mechanica bid the Doll to make an expression once something emerged from the egg. The Doll fabricated a look of shock and a tone of surprise once the egg suddenly hatched and released a living creature. "Well, how about that!" the Doll said, "There was a living creature inside of that egg!" Her tone was mechanical and stiff, as were her expressions.

Mechanica bid the Doll to interact with Draggy, the Doll petting her evenly. "You are very cute! Would you like to play?"

Mechanica opened up a Dimension Gate behind the Doll, a tall mechanical woman in a maid's outfit walking through -- a Servicemaid. "Hello," the Servicemaid spoke robotically, "I am a Servicemaid." The Doll said, "What are you looking for, little dragon creature? I'm right here!" She giggled a bit, then became completely emotionless and motionless. The Servicemaid, who seemed more advanced than the Doll, was capable of analyzing the dragon. "How may I assist you?" she asked, bowing slightly.

Mechanica heard the cry as it was analyzed intricately by the Servicemaid. She picked up the lifeless Doll and chucked her through the Dimension Gate, which closed abruptly immediately after. "Are you hungry?" the Servicemaid asked, using an advanced level of deciphering analysis to infer that the dragon was crying out in hunger.

Mechanica knew that the Servicemaid was not advanced enough to deal with a creature that could not communicate. However, the Servicemaid seemed to be given commands to feed the dragon based off of the inference as part of her protocol. The Servicemaid's head turned sharply to the table bearing all of the food and her body mechanically shifted to match her unmoving head until she was facing forward again. The Servicemaid collected variable foods and put them on a plate, then turned sharply to meet the eye of the dragon. "Are you hungry?" the Servicemaid asked again, this time visually having food.

Mechanica activated the Servicemaid's features, one of which was an extensible hand. Both of them extended toward the dragon with the food on the plate, letting it rest upon the ground before her. "Are you hungry?" the Servicemaid asked once more, bowing to the dragon.

Mechanica was pleased. The Servicemaid smiled barely, saying, "Happy to be of service to you," before bowing again. It seemed as though bowing often was built into her programming. She stood there motionlessly afterward, as if awaiting a command.

Mechanica had the Servicemaid analyze the behavior of the dragon that she might be able to service her better. The Servicemaid made keen observation that the dragon ate the fruits and cheeses, leaving the meat alone. Highly irregular for a typical dragon, but this one seemed less than typical. "Would you care for some more?" the Servicemaid asked whilst bowing.

Mechanica withdrew the data through the Servicemaid. "Please hold," the Servicemaid said. Suddenly, in the sky, another Dimension Gate opened up and released another Mechanica -- one known as a 'Birdie'. It was a Messenger and Delivery Mechanica, this one actually shaped like a bird. It was mildly large, and had a compartment underneath it that opened up like a hatch. Several different fruits fell from out of it before the Birdie flew back into the Dimension Gate, which closed behind it. "Happy to be of service," the Servicemaid said again, bowing profusely.
